  1. "I know something you don't know, but I can't tell you what it is. State secret. Sorry." Big noter. There have been dozens like you on here before. Go away. Love your facebook profile pic of Hodgey and Mitchell holding the cup, by the way.
  2. In regards to your first paragraph, all you needed to do was add Mick Malthouse's name to the list to make me disagree more.I don't want emotion from my coach. It may pander to the emotions we feel after another drubbing, but it doesn't help the situation unless there's substance behind it. I want a methodic, complete consideration of what the problem is and how to address it.
  3. Would like to hear from someone at the game - Matt Jones looked to me to be playing in the barren half forward line, and from my POV from the couch, wasn't that bad. I confess to not watching the last quarter though. At least one of the babies in the team needs to make way - Stretch had 3 disposals and Brayshaw had 8. Not blaming them, of course, but you can only have so many players in the side who are incapable of heavy lifting and they need to be spared the pressure and scrutiny, and be allowed to develop. Stretch in particular doesn't look ready to me. We desperately need Viney back this week. If that doesn't happen, next week's side is only going to be weaker in my opinion.
  4. Just turned over to watch a bit of West Coast vs Gold Coast during 3QT of the other game. Wow. This competition is so uneven at the moment. There are some seriously pants teams around at the moment.
  5. Nup. Nothing is more annoying than people spelling his name wrong.
  6. You are envious, not jealous. Just trying to help.
  7. Only moderately frustrated; this is really just an extension of the past two weeks. Yeah, yeah, we know we can't match the best sides yet. We don't need to be reminded three weeks in a row. Here's to the end of this horrible run and Viney and Hogan back next week.
  8. Next you'll be suggesting there are posts critiquing the players in the MFC side that are not entirely without prejudice.
  9. I reckon you're suffering from Footy Fan Short Memory Syndrome, WJ. It was only last week that they were staring down the barrel of a 100 point loss until Freo went home at 3/4 time. None of the Bummers fans I know agree that they put in their best effort that week. I also thought North were vastly superior but failed to punish them on the scoreboard.
  10. That news makes me want to pledge twice. Once for the disease, and once to contribute to getting Tm Watson dunked in ice.
  11. Scoreboard flattering the Bummers IMO.
  12. I'm barracking for North by process of elimination.
  13. Funny, I saw some footage of his playing days a while ago and felt weird about it. Didn't seem right seeing him in that horrible black and red jumper. He was just finishing up as a player when I took an interest. The Neale I knew wore MFC gear, and coached in finals. I love the man and am truly sad to see that he is struggling so badly, all while so relatively young still.
  14. You're a real Demonland anomaly Curry. I can't think of another poster in my 12+ years on these footy forums who I swing from wild agreement to wild disagreement with on a daily basis. (Current state: wild agreement.)
  15. You're a lot more likely to hit a target when a) you have the ball, and b) you have a viable target to hit. I think that's what these changes are all about as both were problems last week.
  16. Jones and Bail were bound to be called upon eventually. I don't love it but recognise what they bring to the table: run, which was pathetic last week. Watts is the only genuine AFL grade player to make way out of the side anyway. I don't see Grimes, Jones and Bail being that enormous a downgrade on Pedersen, Newton and JKH.
  17. Hopefully if Nev dons the helmet, it helps a bit. The science says it usually doesn't, but it's got to be better than nothing. You know the "player might go in harder" argument against helmet won't apply to him, he already goes in hard. Not that it's at this point yet, but it would be totally balls if he ends up needing to pull the pin early due to excess concussions after all the work he's done to get up to scratch. Life's just not fair sometimes.
  18. Many reasons? Or just one?
  19. They may well have been. Who knows (or cares now)? I was never worried about him going, but it's the symbolism of these signings that matters to me. Our young players are clearly investing in the club. I love it.
  20. That we expect to be able to beat them, basically. I hardly think it's going to upset Hawthorn all that much though.
  21. I don't believe he actually is, but I do believe it's the lie he told the club to get out of having the injections. I see it as a way of opting out of the programme without having to put his hand up and saying "no, I don't want to be a part of this" and risk ostracism, or appear to not be doing as his told by his bosses.
  22. The Lockett and Dunstall comparisons are clearly tongue in cheek. Anyway, each to their own. I don't feel the need to keep a lid on it in this case, the guy has all the attributes to be a genuine star of the comp and I think he will be.
