  1. I think this game is more about the tigers then us. We've seen over the first 4 rounds when teams press up on us in numbers (v essendon, gws and even v pies) turnovers will kill us due to lack of composure and experiemce. If the tigs go head to head v us - as per the 1st qtr v pies and north game, I'll be bloody confident our boys can beat them. Hence why i say it's more about the tigers. If they csn take it up to us its going to be tough. Mind u if we dont turn up that could be an issue too. I wouldnt be too confident yet dees... Some key ins for the tigs and if they take the game to us.... i am not going to be as confident. Where do they rank for contested possessions? I know their ball movement aint flash at the moment but Deludio will help fix that.
  2. Kids make errors nothing to get excited about. Looks like he keeps his spot (at this stage) Im pretty sure they were giving away frees for looking at another player on Sunday
  3. Haha if that's not comment of the thread....
  4. It looks.like if Wagner can hold his own down back it frees up Lamumba, salem or jetta which is great for our rebound offense
  5. Also kudos to the golden haired boy J Wagner. Nothing spectacular but a nice debut. Loved his tackle on Thomas (i think ot was) and uses the ball well. I'd give him another game for sure
  6. One of my favorite non dees players. I wish him all the best in a speedy recovery
  7. There is still a lot of panic and errors caused by inexperience at the highest level but this can be easily fixed with experience. People potting certsin players need to realise basic skill and decision errors can be taken out of players games with experience. I'll keep frost in my side for his speed and pressure. If he drops off in those areas and cant contribute then id drop him. I think he offers more then pederson and our rookies at this stage. But how nice is it that we are now in games.... get games in to lads (oliver, brayshaw, stretch, anb, Van demon, kent (who in the first half i personally had a shocker) trac, etc They are our future
  8. North got so many free kicks from diving and ducking. Team of flogs who cheat. Am disappointed we lost, so many silly errors could be attributed to us blowing the game. But at this stage I blame the umps
  9. Id love to see a massive response against North this weekend. I hope we respond but i doubt well win. We'll need a rd 11 v geelong type effort to win. North are a very good team. What I'm really interested in is round 4 and 5. Against thr pies and tigers this will really tell us if we are improving or not. We win both we could be 3-2 and all is good in the world again. But if we loose and are 1 -4 well its going to be a looooooong season
  10. Experience, leadership and the structure was caught lacking. Simple as that. The saddest reality is these key ingredients wont happen over 1 season. Just look at gws and gold coast. This will be one of many downs this year. I know it hurts for a lot of reasons but we need to band together and make sure this side sticks together to develop and form a great side
  11. 6 BenKen 5 Garlett 4 Jones 3 Jetta Overall disappointing though
  12. Im happy to see that response from Viney. No point falling in a heap after 1 disappointing loss. Im not sure if it's been mentioned earlier in the thread but I think this year we will have a lot more Ups and Downs like 2015. Our kids are our future and they are all still young. Hogan, viney, Brayshaw, Petracca, Oliver, Salem who I see will be solid contributors in our future, there is only 1 there with more then 2 seasons experience Kent, Kennedy, Tyson, Stretch, Forst, ANB etc are all young as well. Point being I know we are all impatient for success but these blokes are still young and learning the Trade I am not excusing Saturday it was bloody disappointing but being 1-1 is probably where we are at. Hopefully by round 10 we can be 4-6 if not better and end up with 8 - 10 for the year,...
  13. Kicking skills.... Apart from that the rest is coming in to place nicely.
  14. After this saga maybe questions need to be asked about james and how hw managed his personal injury battles We will clearly never know but it leaves doubts on his illustrious career from my pov
  15. Bb you've been pretty spot on with this saga but this quote is a little silly. There is zero guarentee any player picked at pick 23 would have been ready for afl in 2016. Do i need to mention our draftiing history haha. .. It is a wasted yr no doubt but it gives a rookie a chance and we have a senisor recruite in 2017 which could be handy with no first rd pick. As i said there is no guarentee pick 23 would have played in 2016... ur statement is a little over the top dramatic And im not attacking u pesonally. The whole melksham debate is over the top imo. Thats all
  16. Not sure what you're trying to say here ENYAW. I enjoy your posts but I am not sure of the relevance of drafting freaks and pre season training As DD said above footy has changed a lot since Jacko was running around
  17. Interesting read and good point CBDees I rate M Jones as an outside attacking player. He seems to lack defensively (not that I really know) but all things being equal (no injuries etc) I think he could be a valuable contributor. 1 think the teams lacks is outside run
  18. I believe Roos likes versatility, I've heard him speak about it a lot... and Frosty offers that Forward and Back. Gee I hope this bloke can get fit and stay fit - his footy issues are a worry
  19. Colin Sylvia mk 11 Bookmark it - will only be a below average afl player with undelivered potential The good news is the MFC don't need Watts to succeed
  20. I agree I liked the commentary of press red for Ed Gee it was enjoyable listening to them crack it
  21. 4-6?
  22. The best thing about 2016 for Jack is that he is irrelevant. He is not the saviour he is nobody. Time for Jack to cement a spot
  23. Spot on Bob I think the MFC has done that in the past too often, focused on type and not talent..... I hope we get blokes who can play footy regardless of position. We need to build depth.... The rest will come I have faith in our Footy Department, especially Todd Viney and Jason Taylor. Stop chasing potential and get guys who will perform Im not going to pretend I know anything.. but I like the look of Francis. Goes hard and can use the ball. Good size as well
