Phantom Drafts 2023
I still reckon West Coast might be tempted by our offer for Draft pick #1. But I guess we will wait and see? Otherwise, I am happy with the Demons taking "best talent available" with Draft picks #6 and #11. I have faith in Jason Taylor and the MFC recruiting team! 🙏 I still reckon we will go Ryley Sanders and Connor O'Sullivan. That's my tip at least.

Vale Ronald Dale Barassi - Rest in Peace
From what I can see from videos online it looks like it was a wonderful tribute to the late and great Ronald Dale Barassi. I still hope that they name the AFL Premiership Cup after Ronald Dale Barassi. It would be a fitting tribute and an enduring legacy for all he did for the great game of Australian Rules Football.

AFL is rigged.
The Brayden Maynard act of thuggery with no consequences proved the AFL is purposely "soft" on the bigger Clubs in the AFL. Anyway, I have already had my rant about it previously and I am not going to get emotional about it anymore. Let's hope the Melbourne Demons win the 2024 AFL Premiership. That would be the ultimate act of vengeance!

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Just saw Brodie Gundy's comments. Here is the link to it: https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2023-brodie-grundy-trade-melbourne-to-sydney-max-gawn-collingwood-contract-salary-leaves-club-after-a-year/news-story/37ba08c1b2ba2db26acb2936921b71fa A class act from Brodie Grundy. It's a shame things didn't work out at the Demons. It had so much potential during the Pre-Season. But it just wasn't to be. I wish him all the best at the Swans (except against us).

Phantom Drafts 2023
Don't know much about James Leake. But he also sounds an exciting prospect. Here are my possible selections in a Phantom Draft. Melbourne - Pick #6 in the 2023 AFL National Draft: Ryley Sanders (midfielder) Melbourne - Pick #11 in the 2023 AFL National Draft: Ollie Murphy (tall defender) Anyway, we shall wait and see what happens I guess? 🤷🏼♂️

Dees win $1million McClelland Trophy
Fingers crossed the remaining $500,000 from the McClelland Trophy prize goes towards looking to obtain a Home Base for the Melbourne Football Club. Otherwise, towards the Football Department.
-
Training Ground?
Seeing as the Melbourne Football Club has now won the McClelland Trophy. My question is, should some of that $1 million dollars go toward the setting up of our Home Base?
-
Training Ground?
I hope that many Melbourne members (including myself) ask this question about a Home Base and the progress of it at the upcoming AGM. It was part of our Strategic Plan and it is vital that this objective is met. No more excuses. Just get it done!

The Pick 1 Thread
May as well take a shot at trying to get the 2023 AFL National Draft pick #1 from West Coast. I find it extremely unlikely though. I just think North Melbourne have the right draft capital to make it happen. In the end, I am more than happy for the Demons to use draft picks #6 and #11. My choices for those 2 draft picks are as follows... ● Ryley Sanders ● Nick Watson ● Nate Caddy ● Connor O'Sullivan ● Darcy Wilson ● Ollie Murphy ● James Leake ● Caleb Windsor Would definitely be over the moon with any of those two names from that list.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Do we still need another experienced ruckman as back-up for Max Gawn? Will Tom Fullarton be enough? I would be looking at Scott Lycett from Port Adelaide if we are looking for more back-up. Otherwise, I think former number #1 mid season draft pick Jacob Edwards from North Melbourne is worth giving a 2nd chance to.

Why Melbourne Must Hire a Coach to Solve Their Forward Woes
I was gonna make a joke about Krispy Kreme donuts but that's a bit mean. 🤐 I actually think Stuart Dew would be a very handy acquisition to the Demons coaching panel.

2024 Jumper Numbers
Will Verrall currently has jumper number #28.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
There's a few good options around draft pick number #11 if we choose to use it. ● Nate Caddy ● Connor O'Sullivan ● Darcy Wilson ● Ollie Murphy ● Caleb Windsor ● James Leake (Tasmanian) ● Harry De Mattia ● Archie Roberts ● Will Green ● Riley Hardeman (Western Australian) ● Archer Reid All being possibilities of young guns we could look to choose in the 2023 AFL National Draft.
- Welcome to Demonland: Tom Fullarton

2024 Jumper Numbers
Mitch Clark had jumper number #11 as I recall. But yes, it would be nice for a new Demons player to have jumper number #6 for a significant amount of time. Jack Billings wore jumper number #15. So therefore, he could possibly move to #14 or to whatever number is available.

Why Melbourne Must Hire a Coach to Solve Their Forward Woes
What's happened to Stuart Dew I wonder? 🤔 As far as I know, he hasn't obtained a new coaching role yet.

Training Ground?
Any further updates on our Home Base? Is it a "green light" for the Caulfield Racecourse?

Almost 30 years
Was a fantastic year 1994! I have watched "The Demon Attack" many times over the years. Could of won the flag if we hadn't run into a juggernaut West Coast Eagles side.

The Pick 1 Thread
I am happy with either trying to obtain pick #1 to draft Harley Reid or keeping our early round draft picks for other young talent. It would be kinda funny if the Eagles chose the Demons over the Kangaroos in a "mega deal" just in spite. 🤣 Quite entertaining all of this. However, I would personally prefer we keep our options open as there is still lots of other extremely gifted young footballers we can draft. Such as.... ● Zane Duursma ● Colby McKercher ● Ryley Sanders ● Nick Watson ● Nate Caddy ● Connor O'Sullivan ● Darcy Wilson So lots of options and possibilities! 🤔

Farewell Brodie Grundy
A bit disappointing that the Brodie Grundy trade didn't work out. Many of us had high hopes.....but oh well! 🤷🏼♂️ As for the trade of pick #46 and a future 2nd round pick for Brodie Grundy. Talk about getting screwed! I would of preferred a lower pick. But it is what it is I guess? I wish Brodie Grundy all the best (except against Melbourne).

2024 Jumper Numbers
If we end up getting him in a trade, you would think Shane McAdam may want jumper number #23? Which is the same number he has worn at the Adelaide Crows.
