  1. won't be leaving Collingwood, however I feel we have a very similar player in Chris Johnson... no doubt you'd still take him, but perhaps you'd try and find a different role for him... especially since he's been getting tagged a lot of late and really struggled with it...
  2. it's poor 7 won't show the footy on the 7HD channel... perhaps it wasn't in the broadcast rights agreement...
  3. i didn't realise he'd played forward before... it's worth a try, although to be honest I think Bailey is going to play players in the positions they will play long term... and we still need him down back at the moment... i think he'll be more inclined to play Garland forward than Warnock...
  4. that's fantastic... i'm sure they'll salary sacrifice and save half of their donation on tax, but still, very generous of them
  5. we really struggled for a key forward yesterday, i don't think Bailey coached all that well compared to his other games... so if Miller is not back, we bring in either Newton, Holland or White... if white comes in PJ plays forward all day, we need a target down there, at least someone to provide a contest... I'd bring Ben Holland to be honest...
  6. perhaps the part about bringing his brother to the club is the best thing he'll do was harsh, i'll admit that... but i stand by the remainder of my comments... i think eventually Chip Frawley will overtake him, and warnock won't be a part of our backlnie when we make a real tilt for a flag... in the meantime he'll be serviceable at full back and do a solid job... wouldn't matter if lloyd kicked 8 or 2 today, i'd be saying the same thing
  7. i've always seen warnock as the next nathan carroll... comes into the side off the rookie list, much older than other rookie players... will be serviceable but nothing more... the best thing he may do for the MFC is lure his brother to the club... garland is the key to our future backline, he could become an absolute star
  8. his worst was horrible, but as far as his ruck contests went he did reasonably well today... took it up to hille who has been in great form and broke even with him i felt... if he hadn't have fudged up those simple opportunities he would've won that battle...
  9. i agree, no talk about figures or anything of the sort... just the length of the contract, which is usually announced by the club, that's it...
  10. what's with all the makeovers of the posts i make? 3rd one in a row now...
  11. I thought it would be a good idea to make a list of when our players are contracted till. It always comes up in posts, and it would end a lot of speculation about the delisting of a lot of our players. I think it would be a good idea to have this stickied, so it\'s easy to refer to and we can keep track of it. These are the players I\'m sure of. Please only post if you\'re sure of a player\'s contract status. I\'ll edit this post and update it with any additions to this list. Matthew Bate - October 2010 Daniel Bell - October 2009 Cameron Bruce - October 2010 Jace Bode - delisted Nathan Carroll - October 2009 Kyle Cheney - October 2009 Aaron Davey - October 2009 Lynden Dunn - October 2008 James Frawley - October 2010 Colin Garland - October 2010 Brad Green - October 2011 Jack Grimes - October 2009 Ben Holland - retired Mark Jamar - October 2009 Chris Johnson - delisted Nathan Jones - October 2010 Addam Maric - October 2009 James McDonald - October 2009 Brock McLean - October 2009 Tom McNamara - October 2009 John Meesen - October 2009 Brad Miller - October 2009 Brent Moloney - October 2008 Cale Morton - October 2009 David Neitz - retired Michael Newton - October 2010 Ricky Petterd - October 2010 Russell Robertson - October 2009 Colin Sylvia - October 2009 Isaac Weetra - delisted Matthew Whelan - October 2009 Jeff White - delisted Adem Yze - delisted
  12. Melbourne sign Frawley, Garland, Jones, Petterd, Bate and Newton. I thought Juice might only get one year, but the coaching staff are showing a lot of faith in him. I'm glad they've done. The calls around here for him to be delisted were ridiculous. Let's hope he can repay that faith Bails is showing in him. He has the ability to do it. Great news on the other 5 signings too.
  13. it's a shame players don't play for the club they supported as a kid... Juddy hitting Buddy lace out would be lovely to watch...
  14. plenty of carlton players named for the Bullants, not so many dees lining up for the Zebras... will be a big ask for the Zebras... it would also appear Carlton has all but taken over the Bullants from the look of that side... Lappin and Teague former blues named in the squad... is Gianfagna of the Andre variety?
  15. i think Dunn will tag Stanton or Watson... he's still learning the craft... didn't have a great game last week, but he needs to keep learning... give him another job this week... i think your second point will come to fruition... with 2 key forwards out of last weeks side, and scott lucas out of the bombers lineup, i think we'll definately see Garland forward at times, perhaps Stef Martin too...
  16. ESSENDON Backs Jay Nash Mal Michael Dustin Fletcher Half backs Adam McPhee Patrick Ryder Jarrod Atkinson Centreline Ricky Dyson Jobe Watson Henry Slattery Half forwards Angus Monfries Matthew Lloyd Sam Lonergan Forwards Jason Laycock Nathan Lovett-Murray Leroy Jetta Followers David Hille Andrew Welsh Brent Stanton Interchange Kyle Reimers Andrew Lovett Damien Peverill Adam Ramanauskas Emergencies Heath Hocking Cale Hooker Rhys Magin In Andrew Lovett Out Scott Lucas (back) MELBOURNE Backs Matthew Whelan Colin Garland Matthew Warnock Half backs Chris Johnson Daniel Bell Paul Wheatley Centreline Cale Morton Cameron Bruce Simon Buckley Half forwards Brad Green Matthew Bate AaronDavey Forwards Paul Johnson Colin Sylvia Addam Maric Followers Mark Jamar Clint Bartram James McDonald Interchange Lynden Dunn Stefan Martin Shane Valenti Stefan Martin Austin Wonaeamirri Emergencies NCarroll NJones JWhite In Brad Green Paul Wheatley Austin Wonaeamirri Out Brad Miller (hamstring) Nathan Jones Michael Newton The team is down two key forwards on last week makes me think Garland or Martin may go forward - especially with Lucas out of the Bombers lineup. As for those writing off Juice, it is still premature. He had a bad game and deserved to be dropped, but give him some time. He'll get one more season at least.
  17. lets trade him along with N. Jones, B. McLean, C. Sylvia, P. Johnson, C. Garland, J. Frawley, J. Rivers...
  18. basically? did he insinuate that he was selfish? Dunn's only learning to be a midfilder and a tagger, he's going to get better at it, learn when to leave his opponent and when to stay on him...
  19. a poor game from Juice... will be in the barrell to get dropped, but he won't be delisted... he'll get at least 1 more year, he's only 21... CJ is 22 and only just came good... there are enough other players who will make way for juice to keep his spot...
  20. a poor game from Juice... will be in the barrell to get dropped, but he won't be delisted... he'll get at least 1 more year, he's only 21...
