  1. I think a problem for many, certainly myself , is Ive never really seen much of Nibbler to suggest he's that good a footballer. He's a standout athlete...playing in an elite level football team, but that and of itself does not qualify anyone as a good footballer. He does a few cameo footy things from time to time but in the main fluffs things as you might imagine a fish out of water to do. Good football teams are made up of .... strangely enough....good footballers. Good footballers possess that 'good footy brain' and have football skills. You can get away without these so much at lesser levels. If we as a club want to experience success. Build a FOOTBALL team. Not an athletics club.
  2. Pvssies
  3. Im sure he's not either. So is his role a Stats collector. ? I'm intrigued. For a lot of effort..... and it's there....im f'd if i can see his current value. Fair enough ....my view's irrelevant to the club. ( I'll lose sleep........ )
  4. Smoke and mirrors...headless chook running half the time. The metric is plainly wrong...
  5. Red...they keep this silliness up and Jayden will be looking at the door eos
  6. Hunt's the new whipping boy obviously Nibbler can do no wrong.,.... can't do much right save run around !! Mind boggles.
  7. A tale of two Christians . One a very good up and coming Demon The other a very confused and illogical buffoon. Pick who's who
  8. In largers spaces your kicking game has to be pretty spot on... skilled accuracy. Otherwise you're just creating needless contests or turnovers. Either way your momentum goes to poo.
  9. Thats just this side of Glib if you don't mind umpire...in so much as a lot of criticism leveled against Oscar was quite valid. It was then beholden upon the lad to build and step up. Essentially the onus is on Oscar. By the same measure he has improved, is still improving. He's now actually an OK defender...not brilliant...thats a whole other level. Hope he continues his progression. That doesn't discount the validity of some critique last( and previous ) season.
  10. Not Eddie..I want a Balme type at Melbourne
  11. He's a Lawyer as well. Experience in the Corporate world before returning to Football world.
  12. Gale most certainly has experience outside of football. Gale is a graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors. Apparently sat on the Board of Victorian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission 2009-2013 He owns or is a Director of a number of hospitality businesses. Mahoney ??? Footy...Footy...footy.
  13. Whoever coerced Balme back to Richmond....take a bow. Its that kind of person we need at Melbourne.
  14. The G is all about skills and precision. No plan works if you're wayward.
  15. Its like the draft....best available. That might be already within the club...or new prospects may emerge. DeC might be that person. I suspect Mahoney hasnt the broad experience. Sometimes fresh eyes can reap dvidends. Is going to be interesting to say the least.
  16. No....the next appointment IS THE MOST CRITICAL . I would prefer they source from outside the ckub. Best-available. Why limit yourself.
  17. Hickey said she valued the advice of someone at AFL house....some bloke called....Hocking !!!
  18. Had to come a day. Thanks Peter. Pick a good'n as successor.
  19. The clue was "Professor of Women's and Gender Studies" Is that professional 'bee in bonnet' stuff? The world's gone completely utterly PC mad. No place for bullying though. That said.... kitchens are hot....locker rooms...not usually the epitome of 'places for sensitive types'

Also there was absolutely no need for this kind of thing... It wasnt in general play with one player 'rough-housing'. It was a malicious assault. Push someone over...yeah.. whatever... Striking intentionally at the throat ?? Someone touches an ump ( hardly confronting...but yes ..a no -no ...but hardly....ooooooh...end of world... Chop to the throat.... nothing Smack to the head......nothing Response from AFL....crickets !!! Absolutely pathetic as others rightly point out.

It beggars belief that it's just been glossed over. As you correctly identify it's a very dangerous thing to do. The AFL and media lapdogs at their 'finest'. ?

I ran the autotip. Unfortunately it had us at 11th. All comes down to algorithms used i appreciate. But they are essentially unbiased. I think this year will have many ( too many ) similarities to last. % will be crucial and we've gifted so much already. I have us at best 7th...worst 11th. Gotta bring near the A team all games playing the best of A game ( and B variants ) for 4 qtrs...every game. A team doing this deserves September. Up to us...well..up to Goody/&Co and the lads. Our lapses kill us...if we can't play our game...we lose. Much work still required. Go Dees

Carlisle is most fortunate he plays in today's sanitised times. In days of yore such scumbag act would have been addressed immediately. He would have been decked !! ...deservedly.
