At first glance you could be tempted to think this but history and events suggest otherwise. BM had a decent list as it were. Indeed part of that what his doing. Also of his doing was a lot of disenchantment and a big falling out with particular parts of the club and indeed its capt. Things were going that swimmingly that he couldn't get his lads up to pinch the choccies and eventually the Kennel chucked him out. Bevo had the job of re-mastering the team and did so remarkably. Everyone there punched above their weight but proved unsustainable. Riding coattails is a furphy Kudos to Luke. He nursed his damaged goods into a very good team. Other coachs and teams have their measure now though. The pups pinched one and good on 'em. Wish we could.

I don't think they ARE looking to have Weed Tmac and Hogan in the arc.Hogan might make a very handy utility type. But then...im struggling to understand the secrets of our structure....often i think i have 22 likewise on any given game day

Its a good question. Very good question. I think the switch has been locked in. He's a forward. We're desperate for some height, strength and a little innovation down there. Amazingly he brings that. Has all the makings of a 40 plus goal a year forward. Games in the end are won scoring higher than your opponent. Then there's the Devil's Advocate question. To stem the tide against us ? I dont think the real problem is the personnel in defence ( other than those doing the instructions and structure ??) Pig Lever Oscar Nev and whoever else ought to be able to defend. Yes a rabble currently but more by design i suspect than players. Tom provides a filip down there on a day its all gone pear shaped. You then might simply be protecting % if nothing else. Put me in the Tmac as a fwd camp.

Maybe as a statement..and a beacon for the 'wisemen' at afl house to ingest would be to instruct a Melbourne player on mark to push / shoulder away anyone for if its deemed ok for someone to be there , then theyre fair game. Also have another player shepherd the shephereder as it were... just highlight the farcical nature of it. That'll get tongues wagging and put it on the list of things to sort. Fire to fire

Well...... I'll be circumspect and hope you're right. They play very differently though. Rance is all about mano a mano , Oscar ... I'm not sure how he'd be described in style...but not Rance like. I actually found myself saying ( against poos) thankgod for Oscar. This then brought to the surface a number of things. Firstly we we playing that badly that Oscar stood out ( as he wasn't ) and secondly, though similarly our defence structure and makeup is pox at present. I think ill describe Oscars game as meat and 3 veg. Its ok. He alone was ok down there with pig and lever having little influence. Oscar is still far from brilliant. Possibly he's now hindered because he's instructed to play a certain way. ( By the by...not the best way ..but thats coaching and not down to McDonald ) In my view he's stepped up from useless to somewhat adequate in a fashion. He was our best defender on the day. What a damning indictment !!
