It's been known for some club's to specifically train to run clocks down. Totally agree with above b-ball analogy ( having played over 45 years ) you learn every trick in the book to kill seconds. Footy is no different really....it's still about possession. We just blaze away......like a damaged fighter plane plummeting . This is where true leadership comes into it. ( I'll have to re-watch the last 2 mins again later...to see where anyone was ) It is actually beholden upon the non kicker to provide options.

Coaches , Match committees FD personnel are supposed to be 'already arrived' . Players might be a work in progress...but I don't accept that those in charge are on "L's"....if so ... it's just amateur hour all around. If what is.... is.....is that we're incompetent in areas where you'd think elite players would just know basic footy...ie... running down a clock...ffs that's learnt as a kid...deprive the enemy. If what is...is coaching letting Charlie medal players far too much largesse ...if what is ...is a total mismatch in the back 50......if what is ....is having a power forward live out delusions of midfieldery ...if what is...is often having the 'hottest players of the game ' counting sheep on the pine....if what is....is selecting experiments at the business end of the season...then we'll that IS ....us

Am thinking the Sqawkers are maybe a good chance to win 3 more...maybe 4. They're finding form....and run home so-so Giants showing spirit.. Anyone who thinks we're just waltzing into finals with 13...let alone 12 might be very disappointed

Oscar was a victim of being thrown under a bus. He's not brilliant but gaining in some effectiveness but only in particular roles. The whole backline is undermanned and not gelling currently. I made a comment somewhere before the game that with Pig out Oscar would be opened up..and he was. Not all of his doing as he's told to play a zone game...and that affords space. Why he was on Hawkins is the issue. Oscar stays...but needs better help...and match ups. Harris... thanks Jay.... unfortunately time's up.

I suggested Bugg for yesterday's game ( in lieu of Harris ) Shame that didn't happen. Can't see Bugg missing that goal

I'll agree with you. We need to trade Hogan. I fancy he'll never be the player we all hope and need him to be ( consistently and most of any season ). Imho he'll wax and wane on form , effort and effect. Atm he'll command a big return at market. If our esteemed coach is hellbent on playing him through the middle he's wasted anyway. We could probably get 1&1/2 decent miss for him. I await the normal howling.

You might be surprised. Some of us are TOTALLY matter of fact... totally in the zone. My Myers Briggs would stupify some , maybe. But that's just me..lol To be frank...I'm not sure there's anyone as such to blame for tonight. Yes a lot of things could have been done better...can't they always. Really....I just think they handled the night and the adjudication better ?

The min he's called as injured...I thought this game a very hard win...as Oscar, improved as he is would get opened up. I said that. It happened. It's not his fault. Particular players need to make better decisions; kicking to advantage is not the forte of some. Kicking anyway intelligently is beyond a couple ? I didn't think we'd win tonight before the game. I'm very annoyed we haven't...but only because we ought to have taken the choccies. Some poor ideas re set up...that aside it was as much poor decisions by some ( those in 'white' esp ) Geelong took better advantage of their opportunities in the last... We dikked around a bit. I really don't get it ( many possibly agree lol ? ) Even with the blood rule he should have been back on straight away. Max gets it...the box doesn't. We were playing for our season tonight as we would have every subsequent game. We let it slip away. The umps helped no end...that was was gobsmackingly ridiculous at times....but it was STiLL ours for winning....but we coughed up. We blinked Despite what many think I stand by my concern that that was it for this year. If we couldn't win that.. well what ??
