Bartel on Brisbane's defence (and Melbourne's)
Remarkable that we ( that is to say , those here on Dland ) can appreciate your suggestion. And yet the brains trust of our illustrious club can't !! Play that kind of footy and I dare say you might win more than a game or two Excellent post Earl

Dees honesty session.
Dees want an honesty session. How about the FD admitting their game plan is [censored] , unplayable and they're sorry. Never happen.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Have said it elsewhere...but am concerned that soft tissues might be an ongoing problem with him now. Hope not. Also even when May. Or Lever get back on the paddock. They'll not be cherry ripe or at 100% effectiveness. We've got some distasteful pain ahead...again MFC....the Groundhog Club !!

Bartel on Brisbane's defence (and Melbourne's)
All you have to do is run 10 sec 100 m That's basic. All you have to do is guard space...that's basic. All you have to do is kick it to that sixpence inbetween those 3 opposition players at 60m...that's basic. Much of Goodwin's plan is basic. It's also unachievable on an ongoing reality plane. It's also unrealistic if the opposition , bless their little hearts , have other ideas about the game. We have novices in the box surely if this is their idea of progress. Our game is unplayable.

What is wrong with Michael Hibberd?
There's a universe...but is it 'organised' ? Organised requires a construct and design. Unless you wish to invoke the God-clause ?? I don't think there's a master plan .

with all due respect...youre kidding yourself...far too many IF's there...and they ALL have to fall into place like ducks on a wall. far too many excuses being made for any number of things. Port and Essendon arent much chop really.....but they opened us up...Geelong wasnt warmed up ...thank god Good teams will kick our a..e from post to post. Dams only need cracks to come undone....we've more cracks than a Comedy night

Which in turns has me questioning the viability and veracity of our so called plan. Footy ain't that hard ... really...is it.- Bartel on Brisbane's defence (and Melbourne's)
i read that after the article Demonland had posted ( elsewhere ) ...9 things we've learnt etc Now you have to think if ol Benny boy can deduce that...you bet your bottom dollar 17 other coaches and FD's have as well. I fully expect Longmire to exploit our zone . He'll have a field day- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
yep...fully respect that..cheers- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
out of curiosity....when did he go north ?- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
It concerns me a little that whatever overtraining he immersed himself into to GET fit hasn't set him up for continuing soft tissue niggles. GC players in the main seem quite fit I'd say .- Bartel on Brisbane's defence (and Melbourne's)
and we NEARLY had one too- Bartel on Brisbane's defence (and Melbourne's)
That and they play a very different structure /style of defense. Other than that ?- ROUND 4 2006 - Melbourne v Sydney at the SCG
Be nice to have this game over and done Thursday. After a day of suitable mourning we can have the whole weekend to ourselves.- POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
for those that don't subscribe.......... ( nail on head again ) Titus O'Reily extract from . https://www.titusoreily.com/afl/the-monday-knee-jerk-reaction-afl-round-three Melbourne (112) v Essendon (130) A lot of people said to me that Melbourne were a sure thing in this game, but I’ve learnt the Demons can ruin my life in ways previously thought impossible. This wasn’t even that innovative for them, although starting the season 0-3 after making a Prelim is certainly a new approach to making me wish I’d never been born. Melbourne ran out through a banner filled with abusive tweets and going by the reaction online to this performance, they have enough to now cover every banner until the end of time. All credit to Essendon, after looking like a team who hadn’t trained for years in the first two rounds, they were full of energy and responded to Melbourne’s strong second quarter by booting eight unanswered goals in 21 minutes. That’s quite a worrying amount of goals to give up in such a short period of time and can only really be achieved by an entire team switching off. I’d say it was time for some soul searching at Demonland, but this club has done more soul searching over the past decade than every new age retreat combined. Melbourne’s problem was their inability to stick to any sort of structure. I watched the vegan protest that shut down Melbourne’s CBD this morning and must admit, I was jealous of their ability to hold their structure under pressure. Perhaps those vegans would like a harder challenge than ending meat eating, and help the Dees’ learn some discipline. Nothing gets easier for either team next week, with Melbourne travelling to Sydney for their fourth loss and Essendon taking on Premiership favourites Brisbane at the MCG. Love the "some soul searching at Demonland" ....and I don't think he's expecting us to win this week either. Here's a man who knows our pain...well he is one of us.... ( actually...I think he IS one of us !! ) - Bartel on Brisbane's defence (and Melbourne's)
