What's hard to comprehend ? It's all fluff and icecream. It's all good... everyone enjoy the Koolaid and all will be well...I mean golly..look over there. The circumstances of every club are different. Anything is possible in theory....but reality serves up a cold dish of disappointment...year after year. Article will make good for lining Cockie's cage.
  7. Hogan might have been a masterstroke. He was being ganged up anyway...would have mixed it up enormously.
  8. In the main...yep. THE question to me is... It's the last QTR.... it's not going well... Hawkins is having a day out... Why would you not put someone on him , wear him like a jumper especially given our normal defending style is leaking like a sieve ?? It beggars belief for mine. I don't particularly blame Oscar at all.. he has limitations but was doing his best. .. ( thrown under a bus really ... thanks to the box )
  9. You've got to be joking ....

It's actually a worry. Wiser heads would have ensured one or other was minding the shop...just in case. That neither did is poor reflection on both...and speaks volumes about communication out on the field. An epic leadership fail...at the worst possible time.

Essentially exactly what he did at Kardinia

The biggest concern for me is we need to string it all together and build into the finals. We trip once...got to pick yourself up again knowing to can't trip again. Massive pressure on a developing team. Footy is mainly between the ears. Tis a big ask for a still unsettled team Go Dees

And he still won't have it RI You have a soft spot..... that's fine. I don't. He's used up all his goes. Absolutely he tries hard. He has half a game really ( kinda fits us perfectly come to think of it ) Irony...he's all defence...not much chop for a small fwd .
  14. The Club needs to draw a line in the sand with the umpiring...thats...culpable.

Melbourne v Sydney ought to be an absolute cracker. Two Yo-Yo teams fighting it out for the Russell Cup !!
  16. definitely a free...but he couldnt buy one down there. He was being teamed, held, blocked...you name it....but narry a squeak from the maggots
  17. bloody unbelievable ? A speedy recovery Mr Harmes

about how I read it also Crows finding form..and we get the wobbles...Not a good time to have to play in Pie Floater'sville Suns...should be a win...but even they will put up a fight..I say...a win...not resounding but we get the chocolates Swans...very big danger game...i fully expect them to start getting back on track before finals West Coast...perth...meh !!!! and Danger Will Robinson come Giants. if we can manage a win agaisnt the crows we might get a roll on....fail....and we're rolling the other way. Geez we make it bloody hard on ourselves...this could have all been locked away...ages ago...but no...we're Melbourne
  19. you know this is a footy forum...not Dr Phil ??
  20. yes and no...any number of events prior change the present as it were. Every moment played...is in its own 'present' so you can really only look at the context of those instances as they unfolded. When Trac has the ball there is actually someone directly inboard ( cant quite make him out )...foolishly hes still walking forward...he should have held his ground ...perfect chance to make the switch and open the fat side up. Trace really should have kicked it to him straight away...but as we nearly always do...we dawdle...downfield becomes traffic jam. People should have provided options.
  21. And here in lies a problem of viewpoints..or styles. we play a zone style defence...we look to deny the oppo forwards supply. Those three ( and there are more ) thrive on space. They can also take contested marks. So you need a Gorrilla tamer, someone to MAN up these types. So irrespective of who we have, we have a problem by design.
  22. Gotta know when to hold them...
  23. Why even follow ?..smart move stay on create imbalance..for 15-30 secs you have a major tactical advantage.
  24. We've totally forgotten how to defend. As soon as Geelong had two unanswered goals in the last...and the tide obvious...the instruction should have been shut the game down, re-establish control. Once the game wrested back... the look to add to the scoreboard . We did the exact opposite. This is not hindsight speaking per se. Many have been lamenting our blinkered style of footy for some time. This game was very 'finals' footy. Imho it exemplified why we are just not ready yet. We play footy like a boxer who can only lay punches... doesn't know how to duck and weave... doesn't know how to pull the arms in and wear/sustain a barrage of body hits....no...just knows how to hit and ko lesser opponents. All very one dimensional. We lost because we can't defend any more.( Not intelligently )
  25. That's among the silliest things I've seen ?
