  1. Am surprised no team has used them for kick outs.
  2. May - be not happening for a while... ?4-6 anyone ??? ???
  3. Meh....a player speaks.....blah blah. Only action talks a language worth noting. This is why I don't listen to ANYONE from a club as such. Is all just lip service in the end. Football is a game of action not words.
  4. I posted it elsewhere...but probably should be here. Cheers (or no cheer )
  5. Theirs is a very dangerous , to us, style of game when up and about. And we just love giving teams back their mojo
  6. Exactly. If we continue our brand/style as is... we'll go backwards.....oh wait ?
  7. Lol..had already corrected that
  8. Very surprised that there's very little love among the tipsters for the Windy Hill mob. I would think we have a show tomorrow night...but am not even pencilling in a win here...so much is my distrust of our ability.
  9. We play clumsy football. As highlighted ^^^ It's all too predictable. It's so predictable other clubs just wait.. we'll eventually cough it up saving them half their effort. If as also suggested we had a number of real options to pick from at any given moment with players able to literally adapt on the run ..well that would be truly chaotic for any opposition to deal with. Currently we just play at playing chaotic football. Bit like a bag of crisps...all advertising...all air and f all to speak of actually going on. We don't have a game plan in my view...just an attitude to the ball...all in at the contest rah rah. We have a brand....dumb.
  10. It's very likely we're just that very convenient awkward dork that EVERYONE can pick on...even the lesser clubs as they're STILL more successful in the last 50 years. Only the Aints are as pitiful as us but they have this supposed blue collar image. We are those smug top of the towners with all that silverware just tarnishing away. They were great once...but look at them now KICK...not so clever now are we KICK KICK smirk giggle KICK. Oh they're just Melbourne dahlings...they stir occasionally then get drunk on the bathwater... pathetic creatures ( stepping over or on ) To be honest not one of my friends harbours ANY jealousy for us.
  11. And if he can't....For Sale
  12. Don't stop the meds
  13. We as a group are very keen to find lattitude for players we hope would come on. Actually...I'm not part of that group.
  14. Probably the least of our problems
  15. @hemingway perhaps we could sum it up as : never mistake motion for action
  16. If Jones was playing for Hawthorn.... he wouldn't be
  17. Please.... don't jinx him.
  18. Trac is in terrific shape...but alas the WRONG shape eh
  19. Wingers..HB's need pace... always have. Something about writings and walls ...
  20. Of course it doesn't matter what ingredients you use if the recipe is a bit off.
  21. we dont go there !!
  22. I'm really starting to wonder if our brand/style/game already has had it 15 mins in the sun and is now old hat. To even remotely work we need our very best players on the paddock and fit...it needs to be pretty dry and it needs the capacity to lock in the ball/contest. This all seems very yesterday to me. The rucking is now much more open and 666 all but precludes locking down that first scrum ( isn't it pretty much that ) The idea as I understand it is to simply push the ball into our 50 and relentlessly will it through the goals. There's not a lot of nuance or skill here just the idea that somehow the ball will pop out and be sent to a player within range. That worked fine....until it didn't. And it doesn't anymore. 666 has opened up the ground ( too much for us I'd suggest ) To attempt to get the ball locked in we sacrifice manning their outside runners who once THEY get the ball can spread and deny us not only our ability to corral them...but simply we dont HAVE the ball. We no longer control the game, it's tempo or its style. Invariably as they run and spread we aren't getting to them as that Roosy foundation of two way running seems dead and buried. Other teams quickly create space and overlaps. All over red Rover.. Yes Essendon are ESSentially rubbish at the moment but so are we. They however can, and do spread well. They can and do run both ways ( better than us ) and they definitely have more players with pace. I fear if they can get out of the middle 50/50 their way they'll score more often as our defense is in tatters. We still don't like to man up. If they can deny us our contest, we'll lose. It's all any team has to do.
  23. Well...I have been wondering I think a few chaps might have their name in there more than once also. it just seems our sides bear more than a passing resemblance to a raffle.
