It is..just hasnt been built yet !!!!
-
You got that bit right !!!!!!! I think he likes burning thngs !!
-
Unless one is blessed with 20/20 foresight..he cant possibly KNOW !! its his opinion..entitled to it.. but to "state" is a bit overly encompassing !! With a good preseason.. and mentoring he may well turn into a really decent KPP,up forward . . or he may not . . and so join the rest of the list !! One thing to add..is that its much easier to play a game with out a winning ruck ( as you can rove to the opposition ) than it is without decent forwards !!
-
I cant see any point going Casey..Its all care no repsosibility for them. The minute VCAT trumped them they took on the mantle of repsonsibility!! Id be suing the Gov..VCAT is their lackey after all !!
-
got next weeks lotto numbers there...I mean..whilst your crystal ball gazing !!! Im sure what you meant to say was.. In your opinion you dont hink he will. AS to NOT making it.. I think his skills shown to date suggest he might have a far better chance than most mentioned in your list I wouldnt be quite as quick as you to write him of so dismissively
-
VCAT overuled..its liable.. Casey warned VCAT !!
-
I think this is the way forward.. Get a REAL FF a proper KPP to fill that role and Miller at CHF..at least til others show any reason to displace him !
-
What he has now done is show that he has the elements of reasonable player.. He now needs to find the fabric that gels it all together.. we can only hope

There is a tenet amongst a lot of the ideas and postulations regarding our up and coming trade / draft periods that seems to overlook what to me is appallingly obvious. That of course may say more about me that the actual situation I believe exists..however. <_< Rome wasnt built in a day. Neither will a resurgent (winning ) AFL grade MFC team !! So much is said about this player or that...lets trade him and him and her ( well some play like it ..lol ) over to these guys and we'll get this bloke..( as he'll soll ALL our problems ) .... Franky's out the back constructing our new superforward and all will be right as rain..in one foul swoop !! It aint gunna happen !! Not today..tomorrow ..or probably next season. We will ( hopefully ) be much further down the road to improvement but its only a path; it wont be the complete journey. This up and coming wheeling and dealing frenzy ( or lack thereof ) is only a step into the future. Its a building block. I should imagine it's highly unlikely that we will have the real team we want next year. When we look at potential drafts or swaps its with an eye to what these guys may bring to the game ans well as the other eye on those already in red and blue who are yet to pay the divdends expected ( hoped ) . So when we dont get the Warnocks of the world or are unable to clear the list of a clogger this year, dont fret as we get to do it all again next year and slowly but surely ( given an ounce or two of luck ) we will build towards a new succesful team. Team Melbourne 09 will still be far from ideal..all we can hope to achieve in the upcoming player melee is improvement. Go DEES !!
-
Carlton wont be !! Once Warnock nominates his intentions...Freo can only hope to get the best they can. This despite the rhetoric of Bond etc was never going to be much more than Carlton will give. Freo were never going to get a low pick of off us... a very outside chance that #19 in my estimation may have been mooted had the chance occured....not much different to what they wil get Given Freo may have got nothing...it could have been worse

I cant help but feel that there wil lbe far more upside next year, if not any greater results to some degree. We went in last year with players less than ideal in preparation and lineup consider how we began: Daniel Bell.... jury out Cameron Bruce.. supposedly good form.. I stil question his effectiveness wtih disposal ( any ) Simon Buckley.... promising ..but costly at times Nathan Carroll... do I waste words .unliley to play for Dees in 09 Aaron Davey.. injury prone..yet to replay his best Brad Green.. Good solid year Paul A. Johnson... getting better Nathan Jones.. Good efforts..bit one dimensional with suspect vision James McDonald..stirling player.. starting to wane Brock McLean..not best start..then injury Brad Miller..surprise packet of year Brent Moloney... the saga continues David Neitz.. a flase start ..unfortunately it all ended. Michael Newton..07 promising.. 08 ..wtf .. who knows for 09 !! Russell Robertson.. slow and lumbering to begin.. fell to wayside..literally Paul Wheatley.. fairly consistent.. Jeff White..ineffective.. past time..and now on to sunnier pastures Adem Yze.. didnt add much to teh picture.. times up #13 Ricky Petterd... again lost to injury..limited impact.. Isaac Weetra.. thanks for coming.. Colin Garland..improver Cale Morton..steady..needs to eat those in bold wont or unlikely to play in 09 those in italics unsure of impact or gametime for 09 Thast how we started..and then for a while it got worse !! Holes in the damn wal lwere filled whilst other cracks split wide open Players missing in action for the most .. the likes of Rivers , Robbo Macca..Beamer etc etc. . meant we had little to really play with..and no time to catch breath. We tripped at the first hurdle and never really recovered in 08.. We ought to start with more certainty and traverse next season with far more consistency. We WILL improve. maybe only 5-8 wins..and we wil be a competive team..just not polished or poised as wel las some !!
-
Yes..but more often than not at the blunt end of their careers..not the "promising potential" moment !! So surely this is something to have been pounced upon....if they are so poorly at such things?? still..another day..and another... umm..another...umm.. not a lot really !!
-
For all intents and purposes....we missed out...Sh!t happens ...get over it move on!! We have missed out before..am bloody well sure we'll miss out again before this game turns it up... You can either all go sook in a corner and cry yourselves to sleep or we brush oursleves off and focus on the next "attainable" ( with any luck.. ) and so it goes on. Would have been a handy pickup..not to be. such is life !!

The Official Stance of Vlad the Mighty as per anything football !!
-
I remember watching him come off the ground favouring that arm thinking to myself.."ooh I have a bad feeling about this, I hope this isn't the last time I see him come off the ground...not like that...deserves better " and of course fate in its twisted way did just that. A stalwart and undoubtedly one of th greatest to pull on a jumper for Melbourne and he always did it with such pride. Well done and thankyou David. Does anyone know if any role is planned for him 09-onwards at MFC ?

Part of the whole sneaky side of things is one element as I believe was touched upon with Dutchy's dealing ( at least I think It was Dutchy ) re Richmond. ..Is teh roundabout deals. There is nothign wrong or illegal or undehanded with respect to player sinvesting and participating in other "things" Its when there is a direct link and likely hood of salary substitution that it gets murky !! Player A is paid by club B. A take s some money and invests into a project or asett D recommended or setup by C. C has no direct links with club B other than ..a roundabout and web like association of sorts via other parties. Such investment is underwritten so that A cant lose and in such a way that any exposure to D does not come about til well after player A's career is over. In one way..A B and C have done nothing more than look after everyones interests. There really is nothing you could do to prevent this as its entirely legal and within anyones right to commerce. It does rather go agaisnt the spirit of the CAp..and some deals when blatantly offered as "part" of the remuneration package have caught the eyes of the AFL.. But if its all done with a wink and a nod..well all I can say is I hope we're doing it too. ) there's always a way. Seems some clubs are far and away beter at it than we are. Still we've had advertising people and no advertising..so go figure There is a Real World out there..and "stuff " happens... youd be a fool to think not
-
A valid comment ....one can only hope !! may not be the express elevator though
-
Havent you heard...Vlad is Visyion Impared !! At best only one works, which explains his lack of depth perception in any argument he puts forward !!
-
For [censored] sake he's in the AFL ..not little league.. You ought not be learning yor craft at this level..it should already be there..You ought to be honing it and bringing it up to speed.. He's not.. He is still at Footy School.. Maybe he should spend more time with Casey next year.. for shits sake !! When you step onto the AFL field..you should be able to play footy properly..he cant...yet !! but he's not alone

ahh geez...Cap ...its such a hard and fast definition... . A possible answer from Princess Park ...( sorry Vysion World ) Carlton: "We prefer the more fluid approach ..and deal in concepts rather than definites..its so not 2008 to be mired in externally enforced parameters when as a club we like to move with the times. Youhave to ask..what is a salary..and why do we have them... This confinement is so unfairly limiting. We look at remuneration with much broader outcomes. These are worked within club described outlines, they are more dynamic and work for us well. Cap: Cap is also a bad word. Cap infers a restiction to our visions of achievements. We at Carlton dont impose such 20th century thinking .It can only constrain and unfairlly impact our potential as a club.We prefer to look at this interms of ideals and targets. Like much in 21st Century dealings these are goals rather than specifics" It is our intent as an organisation to promote not stifle the abilities and rewards of our partners and participants and as such wil lfully concur withe idea of workign with the AFL on these issues as club focus and direction allows. Thankyou for your interest in the Carlton Club !!!

No....they wil do it
-
Indecision is a fatal flaw ( or is that Fraw!! lol ) at AFL level. He really needs to get his head up to speed. quite possibly the rest will develop ok and he'll become truly useful.. At the moment for me he really is just plodding. Hopefuly his potential will start coming through in 09. Im not writing him off..Im just not ticking his boxes yet !!
-
Some might be thinking my questioning is indicating Im pessimistic about where we are. As Redleg outlines..its been a long haul to where we are..and where we are is defying the criticc and quite heartening to all of us here really I should imagine. 1) we're still here...lol ( well no laughing matter..lol ) 2) we are improving. its just the train aint leaving no station !!! 3) the building blocks are being put into position...just its frustrating that so much must have been done twice or three times already. Hopefully this redundancy is a thing of the past But we are currently sponsorless and like Warnock its going to depend very much on the outlook and probably maturity of these viewpoints come potential partners and players. Were a bit of a junk yard gem.On th surface we dont look to brilliant but with some attention and some new parts ..well look out all you who laugh now, we're coming back. It wont be glamourous but we arent in this to be also rans any more. But it will take time. and I can fully understand why people/players may not take a shine to us. It took me a while when considering how , if after a lead role etc , hecould pick Carlton. Despite what many wil lconsider the obvious ...the carlton effect etc.. We have alsway sthought in this matter that he WONT play a major rucking role. What if he will. It must therefore occur that Kruezer will change his..or multirole more..Good for Carlton...no so much for the rest of us..lol..Whther we wont them to , liek them to etc teh Bluebaggers are getting their act together. instead of whinging and whining about how unfair the world is..oh woe is us.. WE need to get on with things. ..We need to be ruthless and pragmatic in our dealings etc. We often comment that this player or that player must step up in order for the team to develop. Im going to suggest the very same thing of the club ( and indeed whatever we do in this ) the club has shown potential, has shown some very real talent...but just as a player this may not be good enough alone..SO to it is with the Club..In Season 09 from head to toe the MFC has to step up and not only play the footy it thinks its capable of...but the CLUB needs to be the CLUB it talks the talk of. If we are to climb the lader we must become relevent at al levels. every T crossed and i dotted !! I dont really care for the way some of the changes have been brought about, but hey are here. Well..Let the CLUB get on with it. Theres a great deal to do MFC, and yes it will take time. However momentum can be a fleeting thing if the mighty wheel slows. Keep pushing everyone. we stil lhave some pain ahead. Could we have used Warnock ?? Of course Do we carry on regardless and refocus efforts.. ?? Of course Go Dees

For mine the major problem I have with Frawley is that he simply seems all lost at sea at times as though the game is over whelming him at this level. Now this may abate as he gets used to it more and uses his ability..but to me, if youre going to be on that field you have to be useful, not a liability. On many days its a bit of a toss up as to which is hapening. You cant play like this .Its why were very very average on many days...not just because of him but because we have so many who are that split second behind being "IN" the game !! Lets see if he steps up for 09

I just ask.. Many teams have young "guns" coming through...probably at least half have someone(s) more than useful..So not a lot special about us ( in that respect ) More than just Melb can offre a ruck play time..again ..were not unique I was just playing that little game they make you do on "those " courses etc. A little role play as it were...."why to go to Melbourne " We love our club..we think its pretty special, but its in our own way. The problem I think is that to many outsiders or potentials...theres really not a lot to write home about. We're enthusiastic. We think we have potential and should go somewhere but our view is lets be honest rather biased. But lately..last few years, werve been spending a lot of time looking into the abyss, weve had a lot of unheaval, experienced a lot of ridicule. We hang on by the seat of our pants. In the words of others weve been bashed from pillar to post..and were 16th..down from 14th 13th last year is playing finals 15th seem mecurial by comparison and manage 11th..with prospects 16th are knocking on the eight and playing ok we seem to be owning the bottom...whether thats true..its what it looks like.. No one expects us to nudge the eight for 3-5 years at best So is it so surprising that an up and comer..with a bit of talent..and desire to succeed ...might just overlook us ?? I dont think so. I think the coaches and footy dept stilll have much work cut out for them. I think we need at least some runs on the board before too many players will look upon us favourably. Even the best salesmen will struggle when all you have is dreams and desire. We may just have to be patient before anyone comes to knock our door down
