Chook..I make my comments based upon the general performances of the players.. Over all with possibly atm the exception of Green..( on a good day ) we really dont match either of these teams. Dont fall for the mistake of comparing our guys on a god day with theirs on a baddun!! Take them over the season. They didnt finish first and second by accident !!

Many of you/us will be completing this online survey for the club. I commend them for the initiative. At leat they are trying to understand us and better our participation with the club. Judging by the previous surveys etc..and this one it would seem they are homing in on a number of aspects. Again , to be applauded !! Now !! I took the opportunity at the end to offer them the idea that they might have asked us about our preferences re an away jumper ( colours )..I of course offered my opinion that ONLY ever Red and Blue ought to be entertained. I think we need to ram this home at every opportunity !! If you havent done the survey.. take 5 mins and help the club ) cheers

No..y7oure quite simply giving these guys far too much weight for their REAL ability . Yes ..each can put on a game every now and then..but not week in week out. That anyone can think we have players good enough shows that many still dont set the bar high enough. We were 16th for a very good reason this year. There's an extra level you have to go to in order for the "team" to be truly successful...ours dont achieve that yet.. They ( players ) may have some potential in this direction.. but they ARENT there yet..and as such they arent good enough for those two teams !!

Glad to see Rosecoloureditis isnt affecting anyones outlook !! Hawthorn just stymied a team that only lost two games for the year...and some think ( seriously ) that any of our wonderfully 16th placed team are a start at either of these two teams ?? My friends..we have a ways to go before we're truly of THAT calibre !!

Rivers cant get a gig in ours !!!

Im not sure why anyone thinks ANY team is going to lightly give up a first round pick !! Any trading done this year will involve possibly the exchange of picks most likely in 2nd and third rounds..attached and non attached to players in deals. TO think anyones going to hand us any more of a benefit is to risk being wrapped in a white jacket and medicated !!

Many people may come to see the return of the Irish Lad" as the saving..( jury's still cconsidering ) ...of the club. I think in years to come history will look back and rightfully recognise that it was Chris Connolly's coming back to Melbourne that was the true catalyst for this club turning it around and any likely successes !! Good to listen to isnt he

Either he fulfills our faith or we move him on. This lad is seriously trying my patience...and I think he can play.. But does he really WANT to ?? I wonder sometimes !! Stick him up for trade.....all offers considered !!

Yep...hes currently a member of my "Elite club of those that wont realise their gifted telent" Nothing really to add...that we havent already said. A lamentable situation where a good player wont see justice to his ability manifest in game time. Either he comes good..or its a trip to the farm. I mean..whats the point !!

I must confess..have only seen him in less than a handful of games.... and if you could wrap medicore, uninspring, slow, non-impact, over-rated , lost at see, seemingly disinterested al linto one bloke...then ladies and gentlemen you have John Meesen. Now for all I know there may be .some genuine talent in there somewhere but for all the world its tied up tighter than Houdini. Now who was the f*%#@! who signed this guy to his current contract ?? HE ought to be paying this guy...not the MFC !! or maybe he's a just a s.......l...............o.................................................w starter !!

Rubbish... We have some genuine talent coming through.. .we have a golden opportunity to trade and draft well.. Our ascent starts in 09.. Forget all this crap about getting all the best picks..ALL THE TIME !! its a false hope. All it means is youre perpetaully good enough to come last !! Hardly something to aspire to. We start improving now.. we supplement with the best available for what ever picks we have next year and we keep going. We look to improve...not tread water. We've had the bottoming out we needed...Now's the time to climb ....in 0 9 !!

...perhaps now known as the Messiah as he's arisen from a premature demise Junior just does it week in week out.. He'd win the No Fuss Charley if such an award existed. His effectivenss may be starting to wane..but he's still a valuable assett for next year. With Junior..there's no song..no dance...just knuckle down to the job footy.. Hopefully he can mentor some of the younger brigade into this ethos

Dont we all !! There's no prize for understanding Robbo's hey day is behind him.. He does bring that excitement ( onhis day) to the game however more games than other wise in last years ( when he was on park, yet another member of "that" elite group ) were but a shadow of his full ability. Personally I would have let him bark himself hoarse and let him go at last negotiations not because I have anythign agaisnt him... but hes not the player he was..and Im sick and tired of the MFC being teh AFL passenger train. 2009.. well.. if he can earn a spot in the starting line up all well and good...but I have no inkling to pick on sentiment. In form he's a hard man to cover. Playing above his height ( an understatement really..lol ) he's that joker in the pack ..in more ways than one. Id like him, if fit, to have a serious tilt at repaying the clubs patience..if not take your guitar and enjoy the sunshine somewhere. p.s RIP #23 whoever you are !! lol

How do you KNOW that ?? some NEVER get their bodies right..just IS . They both watched more games than they have played now for years !! Just how long is a reasonable time to hold someone on 100's of thousands a year ?? Makes no sense to me...An awful shame if their potential is never realised..but thats a very possibly outcome at the moment. We need to be realistic.. not dreamy about all this !!

Well..I'l lsay it now..If he pulls up lame after the Preseason..or cant make it through it.. then he's of no pratical value to the club whatsoever.. All the bleeding hearts >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Same goes for any player that spends more time in sick bay than on the park..I ask you..what is the point..Are we runnign a footy club with spirations nursery?? I wil repeat for those that dont get it..: A fit and in-form Rivers is an absolute gem and an assett to the team...anything less is a waste of time, money and a player spot.

I think we've all discussed Bell on numerous occasions. Im not sold on him. Been around a while without cementing any position. I think the best value for MFC is to trade him , realise whatever worth he has and invest that in another. If we are to be just another team..well he's just another player !! If we want to advance as a club we have to upgrade some of our players.. He'd be one !!

Possibly just me but those two things look remarkably alike. I too would like a fit and in form Rivers. I just wonder as to the likelyhood of this. Whilst we're dealing in of speculation'.....what will we be thinking if he breaks down again next year mid season..and all 'hope" of realising any value agianst him is dashed ? Its just a what if !! A what if with some history and legs !!

Greeen is a worthy addition to a team with a window...thats not us , but that doesntmean he has no currency. Im sure if hes up for trade..he'll get taken. He himslef might be thinking..well ..got 3-4 decent years left.. Dees arent anything sure to be hammering in finals soon.. where can I go ?? The reality is his market value might command a late 1st round pick.. but reality is no one wil give them up.. I can see he may become ivolved in one of those convoluted multiplayer ..multi-club swaps !!
