Bailey's said it.. Rudeboy has been shouting it..this lad is SSSPPPPPEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCCCCCCIIIIIIIIIAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !!!!!!!! He is not fazed in the slightest by the stage that theh G is..( or any game ) he takes the game on, he doesnt wait, he backs hmslef and has the commensurate skills to do it. He is a class above many players..and unfortunately quite a few are in our team...lol. But as the team evolves and various players come on, Liam will be part of a very dynamic unit. The allegory of Davey is quite apt. Have no dount there will be quieter games from Liam as the various gorillas have a go at taming him but I feel quite positive he'll come out of it stronger and even cannier Bloody hell..how often does a player like Liam come along...and how often are we lucky enough to claim them ?? Others lift around him..he even generates excitement within the team.....brilliant

I could say various things, Icould express disappointment, but its realy only my viewpoint. There are obviously circumstances and factors in play here that warrant Junior to continue in his role and if he and the club are fine with this then all power to ya James !! Youve got a very important job to do. Am sure he'll do it with ardour and dedication. He is after all a fair dinkum Demon

News Rookies to be included in trade week
beelzebub replied to Carn dees's topic in Melbourne Demons
hmm...gunna make things even more interesting trade week wise. Hang on to your seats folks... This is going to right up there with the Lethal Weapon/Superman Ride !! we wont all come out unscathed !!! -
we do know this is all doo-doo dont we !!
-
we are on the verge of football orgasm !! our defenders are going to get rather miffed when the ball seems to hardly visit there 50....be such a shame !!
-
let the games begin !!! rumour mongers must be getting themselves soaked at present... :D
-
yep !!! that Blue lot are absolute filth...whether or not such nonsense is true.. screw them !!
-
dont be so sure this year... I still maintainit will be a very active trade week. All the parameters are vastly different ...the spectre of GC..and inthe shadows WS.. a shallower draft.. different teams with differing themes. All adds up to a very interesting time Once it ( trading ) get some momentum it could become a beast ..with many teams siezing upon this rather unique time in footy to adjust its lists before all hands are tied for the most part. I think there will be just the hint of panic merchanting come this oct

keep picks one and two...but lets see what maybe 18 and 34..with or without players might garner..Trengove is worth keeping

There is nothing surpising about this ..well not to me. Some of us all bujt predicted he would be put away for year some weeks back as there is no point what so ever playing him at the moment.Exactly as article says...best he put school behind him , get stuck into preseason and come out swing next season. If many care to cast their minds back to last year this is all but what the club said it was always going to do,, this was the deal they had with Jack and his parents. Looking forward to seeing Watts what next year

Talia would be a dead handy pickup... just cant see him lasting til 18... he'll be top 10 My resaoning is there are few of his type ranking in the first say 25.. A team needing his type will pounce and he'd make a handy third tall type in defence ina very short whiles, then working his way up. He probably ranks around the 20 mark...but this draft and trade period will throw up surprises..This kid will be one
-
pups nearly had him...maybe they'll give him a year ...maybe

ins Whelan, Wheatley, Newton ( farewell games ) outs.. what ever works

do I hear an echo of Baby Bombers ???

will start stockpiling the champers now.. essentially agree but footy is a funny game,so much between the ears. If they get their tails up and build a cohesion quickly i'd say a tilt a bit earlier isnt unrealistic. So much depends on the fortunes or demise of other teams as well as the wildcard effect of GC and WS. Not that I expect much from them..but they will change the status quo.

Melbourne will be mad not to shop around period. Were at the starting line in a fashion but the kit isnt inthe best shape possible. More will come onboard and others need to be allowed to go elsewhere. The gameboard has changed a little since some can to teh club and a few square pegs/4round holes have developed. This needs to be rectified and no time is better than now. This will I think be quite a different sort of trade week as some teams need toping up, others need youth but cant get enough picks and others just have too many of one type...all this needs to balance out. We are not that different. We WILL trade... or rue not doing so when the iron was hot !!
-
I think what hasnt done Riv any great good is that in his absence others have shown a bit, and possibly in a more balanced way. In short ..unfortuantely for Jared...is hes now replacable !! Hannibal is spot on.... Rivers is good, very good, but has his drawbacks..re matchups...and dont forget that dark shadow of injury.

Qantas Kickstart 2009 ..at Saints This initiative , Qantas Kickstart ( about kickstart ) is really quite marvellous inthe breadth and depth of scope. Given the recent unearthing of our own Walpiri Warrior and the nature of his esteem afforded by his community its indicative of a preferred outlook to life and how these values can be imparted via that great vehicle sport. Here a program aims to instill life values and goals into kids who may or may not ever have the chance to be exposed to them otherwise. Oh and its also about footy..lol. Hopefully we have Demonised scouts out there who are taking all of their attributes down and earmarking 'possibles' for closer scrutiny. Especially with thoughts to rookieing at a later date etc. very interesting.. anyone had any personal or more in depth knowledge of this scheme etc ?

I-A-N I ,for one attempt to keep any criticisms , if they are (or praise ) to the play itself. I.e theball more thanthe manso to speak. Its totally unwaranted to describe this or that player as say..scumbag.. loser.. this or that , but there are many desriptions which in all reality are fair go if that is how the player has indeed played. If they play like crap ..then thats that. if a player is lazy , not too flash with second efforts, petulant etc etc.. why shouldnt we call a spade a spade. ""And if you do get the chance face-to-face then remember to smile while you say it, and if in doubt make sure you've taken a recent photo of yourself with a full set of teeth. "" gold !

oh please spare me..fs these are professionals ...arent they..they dothis for a living ...dont they..they are very hansomely remumerated and perks. Outright character assasination isnt warranted , fair enough, and thats prohibited here. But these blokes need to understand that they choose to do it.. and when they step across that white line there dedication and performaces are on display and disection. If they stuff up.we'll notice it..and comment upon it. If they perform well well applaud it. Dont want criticisms... dont give cause.. not hard is it ?

I saw this on his face a number of times.. especialy when he was in Zebby gear, he didnt like it. A fit and more together Rivers is anextremely handy bloke.......havent seen him for years...much the shame just have a gut feeling I wont see that previous calibre return. We need to be ruthless at this juncture.
