Yep...as good as hes been getting this year I think he'l lreally come into his own next year. A little more heft , more strength, more self belief and an even greater sense of belonging..and he'll become a standout. He MUST be added to the Leadership group, absolutely must. Hes amongst the few to actually show any !!
-
I take no real joy is knocking any over the head with the "told you so club" but really happy to see hows hes matured and come on this year. If only we had a dozen of him !! He really puts a lot of his team mates not only in the shade...but to shame ( mores the pity ) His 'back' time is certainly coming in handy as he goes far and wide to involve himself in the contest. Looking at him after a game theres no dount he's given his all......cant say that for all can we Hes a singular bright spot in a very overcast year

The Captain .....does he really get it ??

I think whats happening is a handful are focussing more on their futures than on their effectiveness on the park. A little cart before horse. Ironically the better they were to play the more required they would be. -
I too am with you Red.. +1 to add, where I see real value in a classic style forward is that it unsettles many an oppositions defensive makeup. It becomes far harder for them to match up a team that not only has a good goal square inhabitor but a couple of more mobile run arounds together with good damaging crumbers. Many teams play fsar too one dimensionally up front and its these teams who eventually become ineffective as the defenders reel them in.

Finally in Garry I think we have someone whos prepared to step outside of "standard football quotes 101 " and start telling it as it is.. Hes sti lvery diplomatic to the public and can only hope hes tearing a few blokes apart behind doors. Some of these blokes today just dont get it. They couldnt walk in the shadow of many of the blokes who ironically are here and now trying to sort thngs out. Quite frankly Green is just all talk..am tired of it. Even more so because at times hes been a bloody great player..but its all yesterdays news at the moment. Green might think hes actually doing somethig ok...getting better. Garry begs to differ. I beg to differ. That hes a great bloke is marvellous...and totally irrelevant on the park. My idea in this thread is not to assasinate anyone but highlight what is to me an obvious trait that needs irradicating...that of delusion !! -

be an apologist all you like FAN..is you pregoative.. Im simply looking at what he's said...compared to how we/he played..and it doesnt marry Look the other way all you like. Of course Jimma would say something like that ..it was in the spirit and context of encouragement. Now step back at look at what it really is.. Try that -
Brad Green said this: Captain Brad Green said the united approach shown by the players as the week unfolded, and not being blown away yesterday, showed there was resilience in the group. He said he never doubted his own leadership, and refuted the notion that the players had got off lightly. Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/demons-work-through-pain-20110806-1igwm.html#ixzz1UIlXJoY9 21 8 134 to 7 16 58 apparently not a blow out !!! ????? As long as someone beleives that rubbish we are still very much in trouble. Footy is as much a mind game as it is an athletic one and here we see just how inadequate our lot are and for why. Brad, you were blown away, in the 2nd qtr...thats why we lost by 76 points Brad there was resilience shown but not as a cohesive group, therre were individuals who managed together to string some sort of game together...but not as a group. Glad you think your leading out there....been taking the meds ?? Actually in a way you are leading the way.. your kicking is [censored]!! others follow How much is this group still in denial ? dicuss

They say much of football, over 90% of it is between the ears once you cross the white line. . Lets just say if their was a calendar for this then Colin would be one of the 12 !! and many factors come to bear in how this happens.

round 19 ring any bells ???
-
Well, he has time on his side. Speedy recovery to ya !! whats his contractual status ?
-
this is s trick question hey D-L ?? lol umm..trip home would have been quicker !! umm..we wiped a whole 100 pts off our losing margin.... way to go Dees ! woohooo !! am I close ???
-
Yes they do... theres far more than two

Watts 6 Joel Mac 5 Trengove 4 Martin3 Howe 2 Garland 1 A couple others a little stiff towards lower marks
-
I notice all those who howled down anyone suggesting Joel Mac might be better value in defence compared Rivers are mighty quiet at the moment. Joel looks to do something.. play on ..create play.. jared stops everything allowing the opposition to man up...bloody marvellous NOT !!!
-
IF Greens just going to spectate out there can he have the decency of sitting in teh stands !!! FFS
-
All we need to fix this bunch is about Half a dozen Watts, Half a dozen Trengoves for starters. Id take about 3-4 McKenzies and a couple of Martins... A Howe or two , Some Gys and some Chips. Some Tapps, maybe a Mac and a Garland. A little know-Howe...anything else is a bit of a raffle isnt it. God..its painful
-
Now will anyone join me in the chorus that Rivers is decidely over rated on this forum. i dont say this just to say something.. Im just sick of his inconsequential efforts. Thank god for Watts. Another joke of a day after a promisinig start.. again its taking us 3 qtrs to even get over our opponents Qtr time score.
-
Funny....and yet not surprising is that those that many here would have at teh club are those whose careers were built and honed on the back of a very strong work ethic. Glaringly whats missing from many a Dees players match day offering is.....a relentless worth ethic. Its not rocket surgery is it.
-
what ever you do...please...please dont bother to deal with the facts..or the notion offered. You talk of money..I talked of effort. Youre the one failing here..and all can see it. You offer rubbish dressed up as inuendo disguised as intellect. Rubbish.,...is just rubbish Lazy is just lazy.. Somehting you and Col seem to have in common

What some of the luddites here and elsewhere failed to grasp was that it was a loaded question. There were practically no ways out of it anbd yet I thought Dean somewhat skirted it quite admirably. The hyhenas were waiting , salivating at the propsect of any morsel being offered upon which they could attach their agendered , preconceived ambush. Its the elephant everyone knows exists. Its an animal of the AFL's creating. The journos etc are tilting at Vlads windmill and theres no hope in hell that he'll change his stance, nor could he. The AFL is all about scurrilous 'development' no matter which path it takes, and theyre very good at building paths !!

bugger...there was I thought a bloody good post here by Red ?...and then it went... A thouroughly good swipe at Mr Football ( eddie everywhere ) Shame...I enjoyed it

Col reminds me of that gifted kid at school. Never had to study to ohard ( if at all) got good marks and coasted through on nautral ability. Other kids not so similarly able had to knuckle down and work at their subjects. At times theyd outperform the 'natural one" and eventually they went further as they learnt the value of effort, hard consistent effort. We've all known these types. theres nothiing particularly 100% about Sylvia unfortunately, except his opinion of self wortth

Kirk wouldnt be a traitor to go to a nother club to furhter and expand his career. Its quite the accepted norm, in fact its a better path as you broaden your horizons etc. Would make an inspirational choice as a midfield coach
