  1. he might've been yet another player unable to hit targets, but my god he put in effort and showed desire to compete 100% of the time. was gutted when he had to retire.
  2. has produced a fair few decent players.
  3. we need kent more than we need darling.
  4. D-Rod! Best dancer on an afl list!
  5. Toumpas can't run, can't kick, can't tackle. At this stage a worse pick 4 than Cale Morton. Trade him while he has some level of currency.
  6. He's not that wrong. But Micky M? No thanks.
  7. Jack Watts holds his feet in a marking contest. Jack Grimes praised on Demonland. Jimmy Toumpas to be a pre-season standout...at Port Adelaide.
  8. fwiw, i don't think either brayshaw or petracca are in cotchin or martin's class.
  9. Brayshaw is more Trent Cotchin, Petracca is more Neck Tatts.
  10. And how do you propose doing that hogan? Magic beans?
  11. Can get the ball and has skill. Height doesn't matter if you can do both.
  12. i expect gws to pick petracca. we'll be quite happy with brayshaw i expect.
  13. perhaps roos can convince his best mate, gary pert, to cross the road from the lexus centre to the mcg?
  14. Is harshly treated on Demonland. Reads the play better than the majority of our players. Yet another player who can't kick to a target to save himself.
  15. roos summed up watts' game pretty well in the press conference - if those ahead of him aren't playing his role, it's very hard for him to do his. whilst his attack on the contest was typically appalling (i thought roos let him off pretty lightly tbh), i did think that he lead and lead repeatedly yesterday - and was routinely ignored. at one stage he was on his lonesome on the wing / half-back flank and he repeat lead three times, only for dunn who was doing the kick out to bomb to where jamar was on the other side. bail has been a marked improver in 2014, but is still a limited at best footballer.
  16. he simply must apply for extra draft assistance.
  17. i think it'll all come down to what's on offer as well. whilst if we do get the double-dip of chip leaving and we might look to trade it, offers might not appeal - for instance, i wouldn't want vickery and tigers' second round pick, which they would probably consider 'fair' value. ellis and tigers' second round pick on the other hand...
  18. roos was interesting on watts in the press conference. essentially said that if he's playing his role he's reliant upon other players - and if they're not playing their role then everything falls down. i'd like to THINK that's what the case if with watts, but unfortunately i think he's insipid and goes into his shell far, far too easily and quickly when beaten - plus he's soft as all get out in the contest. agree completely on the calls re bruest and byrnes, tgr.
  19. i doubt very much that anyone would be.
  20. on today's performance you'd axe the whole lot of them save for about a handful. however, moving on more than 10 players in one off-season is simply impossible. the most i can imagine leaving, discounting frawley, would be something along the lines of five: terlich - just no good, his disposal is not at afl standard mckenzie - if he can't tag (selwood destroyed him) and he can't kick, what use is he? blease - can't run two ways, doesn't work hard enough defensively, doesn't have great disposal, doesn't get much of the ball strauss - insipid, goes to pieces when placed under any pressure nicholson - can't kick i believe none of the above are contracted beyond this year. i wouldn't renew any.
  21. all today as i sit freezing on the wing watching geelong treat our players like witch's hats, i found myself constantly repeating to my companion 'he can't kick' or 'he always misses targets' or 'another shocking kick'. how are our skills SO bad?? we not only have players who shirk contests, don't run, who 'have little rests' as roos put it in the press conference, but above all else we are TERRIBLE at using the football by foot and by hand. at one stage today we were running at 66% disposal efficiency; they jumped it up to 69% by the end of play. at the same time, however, geelong were running at 81% because of the sheer lack of pressure that we were putting on them. i can't get over how bad they were in that second quarter today.
