  1. In terms of free agents, it has to be Thomas for mine. Throw the chequebook at him - if Sylvia and Davey both go we should have a heap of space in the cap. If Ellis was showing any signs of ever being fit, I'd like him too, but the guy just misses far too many games.
  2. The likelihood is that we are going to have a very, very high pick - or two, if the afl are generous and actually feel like supporting us - in 2013. We need midfielders to get the ball down there, as yes, a tall trio like Clark, Dawes and Hogan does (on paper) seem very threatening. We should be looking at Kelly, Billings, etc ahead of Boyd, who will be a star but we have so many tall forwards he may be surplus to our requirements. Free agency may also be a factor - if Sylvia wants out and we can somehow convince Thomas to come in ($$$$) - as well as possible want-aways like Watts and Frawley. Midfielders can be found but he likes of Hogan are a rarity.
  3. monday afternoon. to see the rejuvenation of port adelaide under hinkley is just awesome.
  4. ollie wines is just an outstanding footballer. joel selwood mk 2.
  5. So no dramas then. It's not like we have anyone else worth paying!
  6. Isn't he an RFA at contracts end of 2014? If so, he might want to go but the Dees can match the offer and he has to stay, from what I understand.
  7. Recidivist activity from a usual suspect and someone who shows all the hallmarks of heading in the same disappointing direction.
  8. i'm not giving up on the guy either. but, like viney and wines, we were promised someone who was 'afl-ready'. he's clearly not.
  9. Not being AFL ready is baloney - he played, and played well, against seasoned bodies at SANFL level. Admittedly it's not of a standard comparable with VFL or even close to AFL, but it's not far off. Simply, he looks bereft of confidence, confused, and slow. He's not alone out there, but the signs are not promising.
  10. Beware the poison pick 4. Morton, Livingston, Tambling...Toumpas? Looked lost out there today. Played senior level SANFL, which is more traditional old-school style football. He doesn't have the understanding of AFL...mind you, he's not alone amongst Dees out there! Love the Camporeale comparison. We are going to be reminded for years about Wines, just as we are with Watts / NicNat, Cook / Darling.
  11. What pipefitter said. Someone should do a poll as to which one, both, or neither will be at the club beyond this season.
  12. why did sen leave the presser? that was full on. riveting listening.
  13. best of luck for your future endeavours. shame it hasn't worked out the way we all wanted.
  14. sheedy in to work alongside craig and roos. and then the little piggies sprouted wings and flew off into the sunset...
  15. west coast are 0-2 and there's no cries for them to unleash the blades yet...
  16. I think he prevaricated upon Neeld's future. Clearly passionate which is good to hear, I suppose. I still can't understand why all the pressure is on the board and the admin staff not the coaches and ESPECIALLY the players.
  17. Defending Schwab big time. Whatley on the attack. Saying that there is no difference btw now and 2 years ago. Pres is saying its old news. Sounds like Neeld is on Shakey ground to me.
  18. Whateley, Alves and someone from the scum on the dial with him.
  19. i actually don't feel any emotional investment in melbourne anymore. i offer to membership as a token gesture to their survival. i can't see it happening. god knows they don't deserve it. in many ways, i would be happier if we folded - then i could just follow football with a clean conscience - just enjoy the great games and ignore the rubbish. no guilt, just enjoying good football.
  20. We won't beat GWS in 2 weeks. Then we'll be rid of him.
  21. sylvia, howe, blease, byrnes, clark, gillies, jones, toumpas - all ZERO tackles.
