  1. Interesting to see two fans standing for their board. Both stand by Hird people.
  2. We ranked about fifth or sixth youngest last year?
  3. Okay, let me clarify as best kick in this draft class who isn't also terrified of being a footballer.
  4. Can we all just agree that McDonald's are terrible? Sign the Jones boy up please!
  5. What I expect to happen: afl-negotiated outcome whereby all players are eligible for selection for Anzac Day, Hird banned for a further year, Doc Reid banned for 12 months, all other coaches given suspended sentences, Dank banned being involved in afl. What I think should happen: two year bans for all players, Hird banned for life, Doc Reid banned for life, all other coaches suspended for 12 months (yep, including Goodwin), Dank gaoled for a period of time.
  6. roos also has a history of recruiting blokes then backing them to play. there's no reason to believe that newton - or any of our other off-season pick-ups from other clubs - won't be afforded similar opportunities to play first up.
  7. Ah, okay then. My memory is that we had first choice of the zoned gws players, selected Barry as part of the Hogan / extra pick / Toumpas / Viney deal.
  8. barry's chosen sport at the private school he went to in ballarat was tennis, wasn't it? that's why he had a scholarship there? shame we didn't go anderson.
  9. I'm hoping Harrison Wigg slides - best kick of this draft class I reckon.
  10. Don't be such a tool...plus the #s 46 and 2 are already taken!
  11. Sad to say I feel the same.
  12. Unbelievably, you could argue that gws are winning the Scully defection! We've got nothing so far out of Hogan, Barry, or Toumpas, and the cash saved by not having Scully was splurged on Clark...suffice to say that didn't go to plan. We sure can pick em!
  13. I don't think that'd be that big a surprise. He looks ready-made and automatic best 22 midfield for sides such as ours and the Saints who lack both class and depth in the middle.
  14. Everyone's favourite draft pundit, Knightmare, selected McKenzie at pick 5 in the big footy phantom draft. Quite the surprise selection! Personally I think Pies might go for Garlett.
  15. i want 17 left empty so brett lovett's son can have it when we get him next draft. i'd really like sos in 18 as well, but perhaps he'll start with a high number, then take it over once cross retires?
  16. Pick 7 has more often than not been a good player. Conversely pick 4 has regularly been a bust.
  17. Yep, and picking 'best available' could've ensured no Molan, Gysberts, Tapscott, Cook nightmares. Best available, every time, not drafting for perceived needs.
  18. My goodness, can't believe I'm in agreement with fence. Brayshaw and McCartin or Wright if Petracca is gone. No 'reaching' for a mid who's hovering around the 5-10 mark of best available. And certainly no picking up an underage key defender who's coming off a knee reco who thinks he might play as a mid but has never done so.
  19. The answer has been and remains 'Mike Fitzpatrick'.
  20. That profile vid on afl.com.au is super encouraging. Great attitude from the looks of things too. Looks like Rob Harvey in his body shape. Will take someone who can play like him please.
  21. Want. Kid is a ball magnet. Had had a ruined career thru injury early then lack of opportunity, but has had a solid two years in the SANFL. Would be in our midfield rotation no problem.
  22. If they play their full phalanx of talls we are going to be stretched. Their midfield is superb. Be interesting to see how the new coach deploys baby judas coming off that shoulder knack. Rumours abound that the injury was severe?
  23. Guaranteed a spot at box hill Hawks next season. Could be a player after spending a couple of seasons training in the hawthorn system.
