  1. geez, when you hit targets by foot it makes the world of difference, doesn't it?
  2. An absolute champion of the game, his community, and Australia generally.
  3. Roos you could argue actually IS the obvious choice as he's a 'whole of club' coach. Fortunately he's ours for at least one more year!
  4. He wasn't considered expendable last year - he was considered valuable, and still worth a pick inside the top round of the draft.I'm hopefully that he can come back, but it's been a long, long time between drop punts. His injury is unlucky. Imagine Freo with Morabito storming down the wing, or Thorp playing like Croad for Hawthorn. Some players aren't able to play the game due to circumstances beyond their control - Trengove hopefully won't be one of them.
  5. We shall see. He's given himself the opportunity to come back with less pressure which is in and of itself a big advantage. He's not played footy for some time, and good footy for some time before that.
  6. Personally I'm not fussed if Hogan kicks a bag or not. If he has 21 possession, 9 marks, 8 score involvements and 2-3 goal games every week I'll be ecstatic. The ideal would be a triple-double - 20+ possessions, 10+ marks, 10+ score involvements.
  7. Boyd was bought and paid for on future expectations - both of his form and also that the salary cap will soar post-2017 and his salary will be more the norm than the exception. Hogan is going to be earning a large fortune - justifiably - in his next contract.
  8. aren't terlich and matt jones signed up til the end of 2016? has to be a minimum three draft picks taken at the national draft, plus vandenberg will be upgraded, which is effectively the 'last' nad pick. plus we might want to have a spot 'open' to claim any free agent who falls through the cracks, a la newton. so unless we're trading out players (howe, trengove, watts, toumpas) for picks or losing free agents (garland), we have to drop a minimum of four players. at this stage the likely leavers would be: cross (retired, although i think he could comfortably go around again in 2016) bail mckenzie hunt jamar may retire too, which would give us five spots in the draft before we even think about trades and free agency losses / gains.
  9. Yep, found guilty by cas I mean. Do you believe as some do that wada is being deliberately vindictive as a result of Essendon and Hird's delaying tactics?
  10. What do you think will happen if wada find against the players, lance?
  11. Darcy Tucker or Parish look likely types and would add to our midfield stocks.
  12. daisy pearce's votes: vandenberg - 1 vote matt boyd - 2 votes bernie - 3 votes
  13. first game at the g that i've missed this year - accursed running around for kids birthday parties. forced to watch via afl live pass stream; was jumping out of my skin.
  14. vandenberg having an absolute pearler.
  15. so fitz holds his spot hey. leigh matthews is in love with him.
  16. toumpas looking a lot better with a bit of confidence.
  17. great tackle bernie. and great kick!!
  18. brayshaw has been terrific this last term thus far.
  19. what on earth were you doing skip.
  20. it's a pretty low quality game thus far. good to see players competing really hard tho.
  21. Not pictured, not mentioned. Big few weeks coming up for Jimmy T.
  22. conca is a bit like toumpas - too slow, not skilled, insipid. doesn't have the capacity to really run thru midfield, nor the defensively accountability to play half-back rebound role. stuck in that awkward position of between being an outstanding junior talent and lacking the ability to convert that to the afl. wouldn't go near him personally.
