  1. the problem with this is he's also our best key defender peter, gotta pay paul
  2. [censored f word] fry the [censored c word] til they go black
  3. a massive preseason and a role in the midfield he's not a half forward
  4. decent game, good contest the better, cleaner, faster, smarter side won
  5. OH! i thought it was called a point
  6. in fairness, they're all watching the same tv footage that we are, they're just in south melbourne not wherever we all are the maggot was right there, and called it a goal that decision is always - and should always - go with what the umpire says
  7. we used to be SO GOOD at killing the high ball coming i50 now it feels like it's 9 times outta 10 a mark for the oppo
  8. shocking hands from lever
  9. el jefe contested mark to jvr contested mark to... goal!! that's DEE-LIGHTFUL
  10. another gc17 academy freebie no one is saying white is a messiah, but to lose out on a father-son - especially for a father who clearly loves the mfc as much as jeff does - would be really disheartening if white was pick 30 and he was the 'best player available' and 'suits needs' at that selection... i dunno, mebbe like a super tall, athletic kid, who has been played key back but wants to be a ruck / forward, then... i would guess we probably WOULD pick him
  11. Of course he is…sigh
  12. did anyone watch? the pravda article is literally blank other than highlighting that cody walker played, which i only gleaned from the headline and the url https://www.afl.com.au/news/1355425/carlton-blues-father-son-talent-cody-walker-shines-as-vic-country-overcome-allies
  13. i thought gryan miers was the greatest kick of football since the game was invented? der-wayne russell said so...
  14. no, it went up
  15. i think our young talent like langford and lindsay and others inexperienced like turner coming through is better, our mid-range players like pickett and bowey are miles better, and our senior players like gawn, petracca, oliver and viney - as down on form as they are - are better baggers' list is not great
  16. i reckon if a club takes on his contract they'll get him for a 3rd rounder - signed until the end of 2029 on a fairly hefty deal
  17. good enough to be nominated at #2 in his draft, ahead of naicos he's a cheat code that kid
  18. the picks that became langford and lindsay and the cost of about $900k a year is a pretty tasty silver platter the filth are very good that's for sure
  19. he was bog ordinary for the aints since his mental health crisis on the eve of the 2023 finals his comeback in 2025 in a different environment has been a great story for the year
  20. india going great guns
  21. yes, and be far, far bigger and more valuable to the club in the long term yes, it's a complete bugger of a slow horse (pun intended) BUT ...and this is all just my opinion... the club has been pretty transparent with the fans around that caulfield was the plan, since about 2022 onwards, when the other experiments - yarra park everything that they've said happen was going to take place - that it was going to be a long, slow journey those jonesing for action are just going to have to wait for news when it comes the board has made the decision that this is the future for the club complain as much as you want; it's not changing now even if the board is completely removed i don't think it would; nor would we want it to as this is only our most recent attempt to get a home base the incompetency of the club to fail to deliver anything has been appalling as far as i know, this is as close as we've ever been
  22. 25k there last night; north wanted 35k still, 5k more than attended aints vs footscray a few rounds back the first half and a bit was very, very watchable
  23. very raw, but as the vfl season has gone on you can definitely see that he's growing into the role
  24. well, i don't think it determines whether he is or he isn't - as i suggested; i don't know what's his defensive work rate? what's his running capability? his tackling? so many more components go into a small forward's role what are the reasons he can't crack gc17's best side? what's his form like in the vfl? the more talent we can bring into the squad, the better we definitely have a dearth of small forwards - i'd argue chandler is the only goalkicking one these days, with pickett playing up the ground as a mid / forward, and even chin roams high both spargo and sparrow play more connector or defensive roles as nominal 'small forwards' in our side
