She’s not the only, nor even the first, journo who is gunning for Pert at this early stage
  2. True...I always think back to the ‘take 12 months for an acl’ theory
  3. I can’t see how Lever will play before probably mid-year next year When he comes back ideally he slips into the J Smith or Petty role
  4. Jetta - O Mac Hunt - J Smith - Petty - Hibberd - Salem With Lewis coming off the bench
  5. i did the ladder predictor thing too - still have us 9th it all comes down to the game vs gw$ for mine and if we're good enough to win that when the pressure is on to do so
  6. at the end of the season going into round 23 i see us 2 points ahead of gw$ with the winner to make the 8 i think we'll bottle it and finish 2 points outside the 8
  7. i have no issues with petracca - it was bloody tough for forwards out there tonight, and everyone who thinks he's going to have a 'break out' game needs to understand he's probably always going to be a 15-25 possession, 4-7 marks, 1-3 goal a game player...tonight he had 17, 6 and 1 straight - more possessions than any other nominal forward
  8. fantastic tonight dixon is a colossus and o mac played him well
  9. This sort of offer to me screams that they know McGovern is leaving
  10. so he's saying we're a chance?
  11. they have dom tyson going to virtually every club!
  12. If, as expected, Carlton slide their way into another top pick, will they really pick another tall forward - be it Lukosious or King - given their dearth of midfielders? They desperately need top class support for Cripps
  13. stretch is not in the same class as gaff he has a lot of development left in him, but i still doubt whether he'll approach being at gaff's level of output gotta get gaff
  14. it's three off as a minimum, yeah? currently out of contract at the end of 2018: Name Years Service Status Aaron Vandenberg 4 Non-Free Agent Angus Brayshaw 4 Non-Free Agent Bernie Vince 5 Non-Free Agent Cameron Pedersen 6 Non-Free Agent Dean Kent 6 Non-Free Agent Declan Keilty 2 Non-Free Agent Dion Johnstone 2 Non-Free Agent Harley Balic 1 Non-Free Agent James Harmes 5 Non-Free Agent Jay Kennedy-Harris 5 Non-Free Agent Joshua Wagner 3 Non-Free Agent Lachlan Filipovic 2 Non-Free Agent Mitch King 3 Non-Free Agent Neville Jetta 10 Unrestricted Free Agent Oscar McDonald 4 Non-Free Agent Patrick McKenna 2 Non-Free Agent Tim Smith 2 Non-Free Agent Tomas Bugg 3 Non-Free Agent i would personally like to keep all of avb (rose-coloured glasses from memories of his few really strong games, in reality his body doesn't look capable of coping with the physical demands of afl football), brayshaw, harmes, filipovic, jetta, o mac, tim smith of that list as a bare minimum that leaves vince as a potential retirement, pedo the same, kent as trade bait, keilty as a potential re-rookie, dj and balic who knows, jkh as a delist, wagner as a delist, king as a downgrade to rookie, mckenna as a delist, and bugg as a potential delist then you'd expect we'd get enquiries about some contracted players - the obvious examples are tyson and kent i would have my top five priority of free agents as being: andrew gaff rory sloane cameron guthrie harbrow and wallis or dahlhaus would be next...in the presumption that we're not a surprise dark horse candidate for tom lynch from gc17 it would seem that we are keen on ed langdon either this year or end of next, and who knows what other player will suddenly "demand" a trade it'll be interesting to see who is out of favour and suits our needs of a ball mover

    wow...that's a fantastic appointment
  16. Also interesting to note that his manager Ben Niall is back from overseas holidays and suddenly all his clients have news stories
  17. Considering that the last - and only - time he played more than about 15 games across a season was 2016, he’s not much value to any club if he can’t get on and stay on the park When he’s fit, he’s best 22, but he’s fit so intermittently it’s a moot point Would have little value in a trade scenario for this reason
  18. One of very few prepared to give second efforts today Many worse than he was
  19. billings for tyson? i think the saints have completely misused him, burying him deep in the forward line - no idea if it's for injury reasons or what have you, but he's a much better player than he's shown thus far in 2018
  20. Opportunity, of course But if you think yr good enough to be best 22 - and I think part of the confidence of players is such that they absolutely believe they are - then yes, yr preference would be to go to an emerging club as opposed to a lower level battler
  21. FWIW, Jetta and O Mac were ROBBED
  22. If Don didn’t deliver a pick inside 25 I wouldn’t consider it Midfield depth is key to winning games of football
  23. As a matter of interest, what’s the vibe with Bradtke? FWIW I asked some scouts about him and they said he was a completely unknown quantity Yet fellow students at his school say he is as naturally talented as the King twins, [censored] both expected to go top five in this draft What’d Taylor say? edit: it is ABSURD that who’re if it doesn’t have an apostrophe in it gets censored...it is an actual word ffs
  24. both meth coke and the jokers will offer hogan a mega-sized contract no matter what we do what's interesting is that, at this stage, he WON'T be a free agent at the next contract negotiation of course, it's not within the realms of possibilities that the afl will arbitrarily declare that his pre-listing year on our list counts, or that 6 years is the new free agency marker, or what have you make hay while the sun shines with hogan; the story is gonna be there every year that one of the wa sides is into him in a big, big way cos he's a mega-sized talent
  25. funnily enough, you could argue hogan has become the sort of player stringer was - capable of getting up and down the ground, playing thru the midfield, impacting the scoreboard, bringing his teammates into the play, taking great contested grabs, and generally dominating as a modern day forward
