  1. his tap work looks good and his skillset looks not entirely awful.
  2. he looks okay. tap work is nice and skills aren't horrifically awful based on those highlights.
  3. here's hoping he's as good as rockliff.
  4. from all reports is an athlete who can jump and run a bit but has absolutely no idea how to kick whatsoever and is built like a rake.
  5. I said this to someone a few weeks ago at work and they just laughed. We shall see.
  6. if a superstition and changing his number helps him mentally, it helps him. there's a certain bloke who wore a #5 and had a succession of knee injuries but his mental resilience got him through to the point where he was a best and fairest winner and a grand final player. robbie gray, who i know trac has also spoken to over the last year, similarly changed his number post-acl - it's just about a fresh mindset.
  7. thought gysberts was going to be a star. thought brent heaver was going to be a star. thought sean charles was going to be a star. thought jurrah was going to be a star, and a pillar of the community, and inspiration for a legion of aboriginal players coming through. thought jakovich was going to be the greatest goal kicking full forward ever, and lead us to the promised land. thought northey was the man to take us to a premiership. the list goes on and on...
  8. i love the idea of the grandson of the pies 58 steal coming to the dees. i really hope it's parish and weideman.
  9. Yup. Scott Clayton continues his love for players who aren't midfielders or KPPs. It's why I think, if available at #6, they'll skip over both Francis and Curnow.
  10. His kicking in those highlights reminds me of Cotchin.
  11. That's interesting that he's gone Collins so early - most other pundits have him as end of first / start of second round. He looks a bit like Chris Lamb to me - big and strong but not agile whatsoever.
  12. it's a matter of who falls where after that to determine who is available at #7. parish / curnow at #3 seems to be the way the tea leaves are being read, and then it's a matter of where francis, milera, weideman and oliver end up being selected. who knows, there could be a dark horse emerge like a riley bonner or someone like that to be touted as the most likely. think francis wiill go at #4 or #5 to essendon. from all reports, the dodo is a massive fan.
  13. he needs a big season. contract year.
  14. They won't, 1 and 2 are locked away. What we do with 3 and GC17 do with 6 will massively impact how the draft rolls out.
  15. He looks a natural reader of the play, and he runs hard. He and Stretch showed really encouraging signs in their first year, alongside Brayshaw and VDB last year. Looks like we might've done okay based on first year appearances in last year's draft - plus Petracca to come.
  16. Just as many of those middle sized players don't come on as expected either. Whoever we choose, it's a hope rather than an expectation that we will get a player who can go on to be a quality player - God knows we deserve to get a star or three from the last couple of drafts, don't we??
  17. He looks like a super neat kick who will bring his teammates into the play. I think he'd definitely add to our midfield and I expect it will be him at #4, as we will bid for Mills and he'll go at #3.
  18. he will spend the whole of 2016 in the recovery room; he last did the knee in late august. i can't see us wasting the opportunity to have a player who may or may not make it onto our rookie list in 2016 for the sake of hoping that he comes good...the year after.
  19. gil's standard response IS say nothing. say what you like about andy d, but he ruled with an iron fist. gil runs by committee and focus group.
  20. we won't get a friday night i don't think. we'll get: - sunday anzac eve night game vs tigers - queen's birthday vs the filth - bye BEFORE darwin (it's been that way for some time, bizarrely) - home games against interstate rivals - one home game at etihad in short, it'll be okay football-wise but a disaster financially.
  21. On the whole, the gun key forwards are all early picks, academy / pre-draft selections or father-sons.
