Troy Chaplin - Offensive Coordinator
whatwhat say what replied to Ted Lasso's topic in Melbourne Demons
chappy was always a very good 'pointer' throughout his career. however, i'll personally never forget the time he was out-bodied by brandon matera to allow gc17 a key goal, helping them towards winning their first ever game in the afl. -
2016 Player Review - # 13 Clayton Oliver

i really think he's going to be something quite special. he has the innate ability to see what's going to happen and react a split-second before anyone else. -
2016 Player Review - # 10 Angus Brayshaw

had a rotten run with injury but i've been really disappointed with his disposal - his short kicking when in the open often fails to hit the target which is quite frankly inexcusable. he is really good at getting it tho, so i'm just presuming / hoping his ability to do the basics will get better as he gets more experienced. -

any idea what our friends in perth - particularly mssrs langdon and hardie, who were adamant he was on the move - have to say re him signing up? really hope the speculation re cripps begins now. -
future first round pick i'd imagine for tippett? he's clearly the superior footballer to vickery or clarke, but he's also on double the wage.
-
zac clarke or ty vickery?
-
would happily have him at the dees. one of the best kicks in the afl and a terrific fella too.

fantastic result. also, here's the rules around free agency: rfa rules: Players who are in the top 25 per cent of salaries at their club (that is, in the club’s top nine-10 paid players) are eligible for restricted free agency the first time they are out of contract, if they have served at least eight years with the club. ufa rules: Players who are not in the top 25 per cent of salaries at their club (that is, in the club’s top nine-10 paid players) are eligible for unrestricted free agency if they have served at least eight years with the club. so presumably even if you include his year at casey he will NOT be a free agent at the end of 2019. -

saints can have their next after we've won six of the next ten, as per the 55-64 golden period. -

gordon was pretty scathing initially about mccarthy, but did give him some praise: -
should be the equivalent of a morton trade - pick 88, two fat ladies. has been a very ordinary player at wafl level; has shown less than morton did at afl / vfl level.

seeing as daniher wasn't coach until 98, don't reckon so.

We should be able to do something with the NT. -
Fully on board the dogs bandwagon. Like others, hoping rather than expecting them to get the premiership.

deledio for motlop is doing the rounds on all the usual rumour spots.
-
Don't understand why he's not more highly rated. Treloar and Tyson are an interesting comparison - former rated as one of the best young mids in the competition, the latter a solid journeyman...underservedly so in my book.
-
Would like him to come to us but despite his up and down form in 2016 the Cats will inevitably demand a first round pick for him. Is he worth it? Debatable.
-
i was under the impression m jones had a year to run on his contract; think it's probably just as well he goes now. good luck to all of them. i kinda hope grimes gets another go somewhere else, but i personally have doubts as to whether he will or not.
-
will grimes get another go at a different afl club? watching him on sunday was sad. trengove and spencer got new one-year deals so will be on the list in 2017. i'll go with the following: dawes - wait and see depending upon hogan lumumba - pay him out dunn - is he a trade option? would have more value to another club than garland as defensive coverage newton - gone garland - is he a trade option? would have less value to another club than dunn as defensive coverage, and we somehow gave him three years pedersen - i'd keep him as coverage michie - gone jkh - trade option anb - trade option grimes - gone mitch white - gone / re-rookie terlich - gone

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

kennedy has attributes that we need - pace, defensive accountability, ability to hit the scoreboard - but he does it in patches at this stage in his career rather than with any sense of consistency. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TIM SMITH

This. He looks like an ideal third tall, but in I remain to be convinced he suits our structure. Now watch us not draft him and dominate 2017 for his afl club! -

people seem to forget that the player first and foremost needs to a) request a trade and b) agree to it. we can't just say 'that's it, yr off to team x' to ANY player, let alone someone like hogan.
