  5. i think, as has been pointed out a few times (by yourself, i think?), the announcement of anything - be it progress or it being doa - is effectively out of the club's control i'm hopeful, as ever, but not expectant, as always mfcss writ large - when things are glum there's worse to come!

  12. aints' membership base is artificially boosted - or at least it used to be - by giving away memberships to children competing in the smjfl league, and parents often got memberships thrown in for free too ultimately i suppose it's not # of members that counts but $ driven from them
  13. remove the alice game and it's stronger again our membership base is always going to be low as our supporter base is small, but our conversion of supporters: members used to be, and presumably still is, one of the best in the competition ultimately, we're a minnow club

  15. i take it yr from near byron, @Brownie ? do you know the grunge throwback threepiece, headsend? working with mike crossey and nick didia on their debut album, which should be a decent listen i love that the frontman is named rasmus and his brother is kyuss they were one of the emergent bands at bigsound 2025
  16. chalk me down as another 'rip rob' remembrance post i first saw the oils just as i turned 18, around the "redneck wonderland" era from there, did not see them again til the first reformation, and then my final show was the "10-1" in full show at the palais as they farewelled melbourne incredible band
  17. don't full stop us @Redleg yr a font of positivity that is much needed in this thread
  18. password sharing banning is inevitable and that's when i think it'll be interesting to see what decision people make about how important 'seeing' the footy on tv actually is we might be going back to the 90s where if you didn't go to the game, radio was yr best bet no ads siren-to-siren is one of their major marketing callouts that you'd think they would be reluctant to lose
  19. Pass mark is making finals Anything less is a fail My expectation is that we will fail, but I also didnโ€™t think weโ€™d make finals in 2021
