Great info. I’ve been watching a bit of him on YouTube and there is plenty to like. Things that stand out: - clean hands - nice stoppage craft and seems to almost always get the ball out when tackled which is impressive and may balance the speed issue - speaking of speed, he doesn’t stand out as being slow - excellent work rate, constantly making multiple efforts, this really stands out - VERY left sided - very very good mark for a mid - easily kicks 50m, kicking is good without standing out - decision-making is solid too - tough Will play round 1 barring injury

I wouldn’t be sure they will end up with the pick after draft night. I suspect they might use it to try to trade back into the first round after Kako is picked up.

Poor take. We have been held back by injury all year. Give us Hore and Colvin and we would have comfortably taken them tonight. Eliza West player of the match?! Really? Bates and Fleming were far more impactful.

Such a shame to lose Hore and Chaplin pregame as we just need that extra little bit of depth in this game. We will need to make it a grind and be more efficient in F50 to take the win from here. They will kill us if the r game remains this open. Also, geez Jas Fleming is quality. Not quite the level of my fave Hanks but very very good.

Every stoppage seems too open. Seems to really suit Hawthorn. Bring up an extra and congest/outnumber and I think we will get much more ball forward.

We have been unlucky so far. Bounce of the ball, few umpiring calls, hawks miskicks falling in their lap etc. But got to keep it close here while hawks feel like they are on top.

Feel like we are one down in the midfield without Hore. Would love to see them throw Goldie back in there.

GC did well out of the Houston deal though. WC and Port are the biggest losers so far.

Pies have given up a 1st and a 2nd round pick and two players they didn’t want to give up (only fringe of best team to be fair). On the other hand, they have absolutely mortgaged their future. It’s hardly making out like bandits. The two first round picks for Houston narrative was fanciful. Even Lever’s trade (21yo who had just made the AA squad) had a second rounder (pick 35) coming back to us.

He definitely was not a free agent

Pretty pathetic by GWS not to consider a trade. They have heaps of depth in KP players, he has family reasons to want to be in Melbourne and they haven’t given him a game. Hardly a player to really put your foot down on. I hope he leaves next year for nothing.

GC would be mad to do that

Would love the club to try something different with Tahlia Gillard. Heaps of talent but does not have the footy smarts or ground ball skills to play in defensive 50. Could we try her forward? Whilst on that, ground balls in D50 have me pulling out my hair every week. So often we overrun the ball or fail to rush it over the line and they get easy goals. So frustrating.

Nailed it. Eliza Mac and Paxy are surely our fittest players. Hopefully both are back next week.

GWS just playing the game

Port would be crazy to trade him to Carlton for “a first round pick” and Matt Owies, who Carlton don’t even want. Would be a huge leg up for a direct competitor for the flag. How do Carlton even think it is worthwhile to bother Port with that offer?
