AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Adrian Caruso (GWS recruiter) said on SEN yesterday that they really rate the first 12 or so, though I can’t remember the exact words he used, then drops off after that. Top end not as elite as usual, as you have said. But it seems that our range (7/8 moving to 11/12ish) may actually be at a normal quality for that range.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Injuries killed Freo and that’s what we will rely on with GCS. They are now absolutely stacked

AFLW: Rd 09 vs Fremantle
The HTB interpretation is now so over the top. Completely excessive amount of frees which regularly completely baffle the players. Giving less benefit of the doubt on HTB than previous seasons is ok, but has gone way too far. So often a player has no prior and there are six hands on the ball and apparently they aren’t trying hard enough to get it out. Umps with absolutely no feel for the game

AFLW: Rd 09 vs Fremantle
I fear broken ribs for Harris, which would be a real shame given her recent form.

AFLW: Rd 09 vs Fremantle
Did you watch the game? When they get two goals within 15 metres of goal from two of the most soft frees you will see then the free kick count means very little. So frustrating. We should have won that but didn’t take our chances enough (or have such gifts). Backline is still a bit of a worry. We were much more steady with Saraid Taylor earlier in the season and could really use Lampard back.

Umpiring [censored] as usual in AFLW. Two of their goals from two of the softest frees you will see

Leek Aleer
We would be stupid to go after Aleer when that is the area of the ground we have the best depth and good quality. Petty, Turner, Lever, McDonald, May, Adams - there is no need for more key defenders.

Blues have Curnow

I really hope the club is smart about the high value of our F1. Our F2 should be pretty valuable too and perhaps it should be the one on offer, along with Trac obviously and potentially picks this year depending on what is coming back.

AFLW: Rd 08 vs Essendon
Just watched much of the second half of Hawks vs Freo. Umpiring was disgraceful. Makes it so hard to enjoy watching a game as a neutral #freekickhawthorn

AFLW: Rd 07 vs Gold Coast
It has been a very easy fixture. Handy though, giving us time to get our injured players back. Really need Lampy and Mackin back by finals though to be able to challenge North.

AFLW Injury List 2025
Lily Johnson, Rigoni and Wotherspoon

Wade Derksen
Himmelberg also plays back for GWS. They are stacked for key defenders.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
This is going to be the worst finals series ever

AFLW: Rd 03 vs Collingwood
Agree. It was dumb football, you can’t give the umps the opportunity to give the pies a free. The Pearce in the back was particularly unnecessary- need to just be going for the spoil in that situation and should have cost us the win if not for the terrible kick by the pies player. I hope they have focused on making smarter decisions in tight games this week. Giving up so many frees in the last two mins is not acceptable, whether the frees are justified or not. The way to nearly beat the Dees is have them so decimated by injury that they can barely fill a team 🙄

Trade Targets
Elijah Hollands “behavioural issues” are apparently significant. Menzie is universally hated by Essendon supporters.

AFLW: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Best game I’ve seen from her. Great start to the year!

AFLW: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
I’m optimistic it may be just a medial ligament 🤞🏼 Hore has been unbelievable this quarter. How many goal assists?! In contrast to the men, our forward connection has been outstanding. Midfield dominating as well.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Maybe I misheard but I thought he said it was “one of” their best wins. I think it mostly related to their ability to come from behind twice in the last qtr to win in a very important game for them. He gave us a lot of credit during the presser

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
It was as he kicked it

10th season of the AFLW
Very impressive half. I haven’t caught all of it but we look really fit. Outnumbering Crows at most contests, cleaner with our hands and hitting targets. The usual suspects dominating, Hanks, McNamara, Hore etc. Chaplin rock solid in defence.

Trade Targets
That is because everyone has been waiting for their 3 oldest players to drop off as you would expect - Pendlebury, Sidebottom and Howe. They are probably all in their top 5 players this year and hugely important to them. Once they are gone, Pies will drop like a sack’o’spuds.

Farewell Judd McVee
Lever definitely spent a fair bit of time on Harvey. I think McVee was mostly on Curtis.
