That is a shocking fine against Tayla Harris. The ball was very much in dispute (TH was barely a moment later than her opponent), she approached the contest how players are taught to and very little force. Absolute joke

I don’t think Freo will make finals next year (Losing Mundy who was still playing well, Logue finished high in their B&F, Acres, Tucker, lose Lobb or he’s super unhappy. Other clubs figured them out in the second half of the year. They are very young and any injuries will really test their depth). So I think their F1 will be a top ten pick. The F2 from North will probably be one of the first picks of the 2nd round in a stacked draft. If it’s anything like previous years those first few picks on the second draft should become super valuable. Throwing back a F2 would be stupid I agree on second thought, an F3 would be fair.

Agree that deal is absurd. We must get in 13, their future 1st and north’s future 2nd. We could throw back a future 3rd (or future 2nd at a stretch)

This. I really want their future first. They are losing a lot of their depth and seemed to be found out by the rest of the competition in the second half of the year.

Too expensive to have on the books. I’d give him away for peanuts if another team will take his contract. Still may have some AFL quality football in him and I’d wish him well should he move on. Seems like a quality guy

I watched most of the game. Ashcroft was good but not as good as I expected. A lot of Sam Walsh about him. Harley Reid however was super impressive. He will be a star. As will Cadman. Jefferson had a good game but looks a long way off AFL ready. Harry Jones vibes. I really liked Anderson in defence for metro, plus Gruzewski had some great moments and Cam MacKenzie looks all class. Binns, Burgiel and Hustwaite were the other ones from Country who stood out.

Hardly daylight. Expected scores had us six points down against Sydney and comfortably beating Brisbane. Plenty to work on (which you’ve covered well) but we aren’t far off.

That is so sad to read but I’m glad he has found peace with it. Sounds like an amazing speech. It’s a real shame they didn’t give him the opportunity to be the GF sub.

They had an awful preseason with injuries. Very much like us in 2019. Although we were more competitive than this rabble.

Freo are a definite chance against Adelaide, who have really dropped off in the second half of this year, albeit from being absolutely dominant. A GF at Marvel would be awesome but a prelim against (presumably) Brisbane will be tough. Should be two great prelims!

I’ve lost it now but someone on Twitter today posted the expected scores (from Champion data) for the round and we were “expected” to have won by almost 50 points.

I walked the replay today and have watched a lot of round 1. There seems to be a set of rules in the ruck that solely applies to Gawn and no other ruck. Joel Smith’s game really stood out on the replay. One of our best

Gee Jayden Stephenson is a liability. I have actually found the game entertaining but these two teams are bottom 4 for sure. Sullied by the incredibly poor skill level and Hawthorn winning.
