  1. Always remember where you came from and then you can truly appreciate your achievements. One month and change to go.
  2. Just saw Richmond’s team for their game against the Hawks. In: Ben Miller, David Astbury, Jack Ross, Jason Castagna, Kamdyn McIntosh, Mabior Chol, Marlion Pickett, Riley Collier-Dawkins, Will Martyn Out: Dion Prestia (Injured), Hugo Ralphsmith, (Omitted), Jake Aarts (Medi-Sub), Kane Lambert (Injured), Maurice Rioli (Omitted), Rhyan Mansell (Injured), Ryan Garthwaite (Omitted), Shane Edwards (Injured), Toby Nankervis (Injured), Trent Cotchin (Injured) That’s 10 outs. Are they tanking or what?
  3. He’s a journalist doing his job so don’t expect any favours. However, his analysis simply doesn’t sound right in light of what we’ve seen in recent weeks at AFL level. Hawkins got off with nothing for what he did on Saturday. Dangerfield and Selwood have both been lucky not to be sanctioned in recent weeks either. At worst, this is a one week suspension.
  4. Those forthcoming national Championships are going to be really important now that the extended lockdown has come into force because it’s unlikely that the players from metro clubs will get a further chance to impress. Players like our very own Mac Andrew who looks a borderline top 20 draftee based on where he features in this team will only be seen again if he makes it to the championships.
  5. 6. Bayley Fritsch 5. Luke Jackson 4. Christian Salem 3. Christian Petracca 2. Ed Langdon 1. Clayton Oliver
  6. Watching the Derby and the crowd involvement and I would say that after the first two weeks of the finals, the rest will be played at Optus Stadium. No chance in Victoria.
  7. Needs to work on his disposal and we have Choko Williams to fix that up.
  8. During the period, at least four or five other teams had put the cue in the rack and ended up with priority picks but the AFL investigated only Melbourne. The practice had even been given public approval by the AFL CEO. Tony Liberatore virtually fessed up that it had occurred while he was at Carlton but was hauled in to HQ and silenced. Whatever the club was guilty of, others were as well but we were the scapegoat and Chris was the one who took a hit for the club. I loved his appearance on the Front Bar and it was great to see that he’s kept his sense of humour.
  9. Could we stop speculating about finishing on top and start taking things one game at a time. We have a game to win tomorrow.
  10. We still have the no [censored] policy, so that’s a “no”. Definitely.
  11. If he's eligible this year, he would be easier to draft. If he's draft eligible next year we would struggle to get him because we could not match a bid up to number 40.
  12. Worth keeping an eye on this guy if he's eligible this year.
  13. James Cousins replaces Connor Nash in the Hawks’ line up.
  14. Suns will give us a bit of a touch up next week if we’re not careful.
  15. Think Jackson started off around a top ten contender and went to us at pick 3, didn’t he?
  16. The Pullett Surprise laid an egg.
  17. That might well be so but just a reminder that Melbourne’s first draft pick at the moment is in the 30s. Even if we trade up, where do the club’s priorities lie in November. A development ruckman?
  18. The powers that be in the AFL/VFL aren’t demonstrating that they’re particularly interested in the proper promotion of community interests and football. The Pink Lady match is getting short shrift so don’t expect anything from them or 7 on the subject of the match of the round in this competition.
  19. Don’t completely underestimate Daw as your 3rd tier ruckman. If he wants the role, there’s nothing wrong with someone like him and then to rookie a development tall.
  20. Also, the draft pundits are saying that Woey Junior is a little bit “vanilla” and there’s little to excite about in his play. Your view?
  21. Another good thing about the Suns beating the Toigs is that the AFL can hardly gift them any more draft concessions now, surely?
  22. Looking out the window and seeing sunshine. I know Melbourne weather can change quickly but hoping it wasn't a bad read on the weather report that decided the selectors' minds about not going for Ben Brown today.
  23. No, Jonesy is injured (calf strain).
