During last year’s trade and draft period and even on the night of the draft itself, I was gobsmacked by the audacity of some of the trading. There are lots of things that can happen that we have little or no chance of predicting at this point in time.

Welcome to Demonland: Andy Moniz-Wakefield

The NT season happens over our summer. As the NAB Boys League was cancelled, is he playing anywhere at all now? -
Would suit a club like the Gold Coast Suns where they really need some cool, experienced heads to help guide their young recruits from recent years. Izak Rankine is one who seems to be going a bit off the rails due to a lack of a mentor. Perhaps, package him and the Weid together for that pick 19.

I thought Sam was happy at the club and doesn’t want to leave.

Watched the second game and wow, Nick Daicos is a gem. He’s going to be a favourite with the Collingwood fans but will cost them a suitcase load of draft points. The Metro team dominated and had a lot of good players including midfielders, Josh Ward and Josh Goater and ironically. St Kilda NGA Mitch Owens. Their other father-son in the team Sam Darcy was good and you can see why he’s rated so highly. Country’s best was another midfielder Ben Hobbs and half-forward Josh Rachele which brings me to Mac Andrew. He went okay. He has some good attributes and spent only part of the game on the ruck. He’s athletic, has a good leap and plenty of spring to take on ruck duels but he’ll probably start as a key position player and even then would have to work his butt off to get up to speed physically. One day he could be an Aliir Aliir or Mabior Chol - who can say?

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Freddy Fuschia replied to TRIGON's topic in Melbourne Demons
Been announced that the Draft Combine has been cancelled and instead, combines will proceed in the states when and where permitted by government Covid19 rules. -
Rather keep Weid.

The Boys Club working hard to get him off.

No votes though

Assuming he nominates as father-son, the only way he’ll be a rookie is if no other club selects Taj in the main draft. He picked up enough of the ball and did well enough with it to suggest that he’s going to be our best f-s since Jack Viney.

Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin

Taj Woewodin is number 14 and has looked impressive - a very tidy footballer. -
Michael Hibberd and Mitch Brown are both 31.

Finally free kicked a Geelong throw.

RETURN TO NEVERLAND by Whispering Jack

Has to be Tracc with the hard body and his Italian origins. -
North Melbourne are showing interest in Sam Weideman and I would suggest that a trade would be worthwhile around North’s second pick, currently 20. With matching father/sons and possible free agency compensation picks, that could possibly end up around 24.

AFL Media’s Mitch Cleary is reporting on SEN that St Kilda swingman Josh Battle could be gettable in the upcoming trade period.

He doesn’t throw the ball and get away with it like Selwood does.

Always remember where you came from and then you can truly appreciate your achievements. One month and change to go.

Just saw Richmond’s team for their game against the Hawks. In: Ben Miller, David Astbury, Jack Ross, Jason Castagna, Kamdyn McIntosh, Mabior Chol, Marlion Pickett, Riley Collier-Dawkins, Will Martyn Out: Dion Prestia (Injured), Hugo Ralphsmith, (Omitted), Jake Aarts (Medi-Sub), Kane Lambert (Injured), Maurice Rioli (Omitted), Rhyan Mansell (Injured), Ryan Garthwaite (Omitted), Shane Edwards (Injured), Toby Nankervis (Injured), Trent Cotchin (Injured) That’s 10 outs. Are they tanking or what?

Cox going to Kabul?

He’s a journalist doing his job so don’t expect any favours. However, his analysis simply doesn’t sound right in light of what we’ve seen in recent weeks at AFL level. Hawkins got off with nothing for what he did on Saturday. Dangerfield and Selwood have both been lucky not to be sanctioned in recent weeks either. At worst, this is a one week suspension.

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Freddy Fuschia replied to TRIGON's topic in Melbourne Demons
Those forthcoming national Championships are going to be really important now that the extended lockdown has come into force because it’s unlikely that the players from metro clubs will get a further chance to impress. Players like our very own Mac Andrew who looks a borderline top 20 draftee based on where he features in this team will only be seen again if he makes it to the championships.
