  1. We still have the no [censored] policy, so that’s a “no”. Definitely.
  2. If he's eligible this year, he would be easier to draft. If he's draft eligible next year we would struggle to get him because we could not match a bid up to number 40.
  3. Worth keeping an eye on this guy if he's eligible this year.
  4. James Cousins replaces Connor Nash in the Hawks’ line up.
  5. Suns will give us a bit of a touch up next week if we’re not careful.
  6. Think Jackson started off around a top ten contender and went to us at pick 3, didn’t he?
  7. That might well be so but just a reminder that Melbourne’s first draft pick at the moment is in the 30s. Even if we trade up, where do the club’s priorities lie in November. A development ruckman?
  8. The powers that be in the AFL/VFL aren’t demonstrating that they’re particularly interested in the proper promotion of community interests and football. The Pink Lady match is getting short shrift so don’t expect anything from them or 7 on the subject of the match of the round in this competition.
  9. Don’t completely underestimate Daw as your 3rd tier ruckman. If he wants the role, there’s nothing wrong with someone like him and then to rookie a development tall.
  10. Also, the draft pundits are saying that Woey Junior is a little bit “vanilla” and there’s little to excite about in his play. Your view?
  11. Another good thing about the Suns beating the Toigs is that the AFL can hardly gift them any more draft concessions now, surely?
  12. Looking out the window and seeing sunshine. I know Melbourne weather can change quickly but hoping it wasn't a bad read on the weather report that decided the selectors' minds about not going for Ben Brown today.
  13. The South Australian Under 17 squad for the national championships was named today. That would not normally be a big deal even around here but for one name. See if you can find him. SA state under 17 final squad of 30 Harry Barnett Shaun Bennier Max Blacker Hunter Carter Koby Cockshell Tyson Coe Adam D'Aloia Jack Delean * Blake Hansen Isaac Keeler Harry Lemmey Jaiden Magor Kyle Marshall Austin McDonald Max Michalanney Will Patton * Mattaes Phillipou Taj Rahui Jakob Ryan Kobe Ryan Kelsey Rypstra Nick Sadler Tom Scully Luca Slade * Oscar Talbot * Jedd Thomson * Brodie Tuck Will Verrall Tyson Walls Tom Wheaton * * Under 16

  15. It hasn’t taken the new regime at Collingwood long to wield the hatchet but I suspect this bloke’s the fall guy and that others who were responsible for their salary cap fiasco (apart from Eddie) are still there. List manager Ned Guy quits Collingwood after tumultuous off-season
  16. OMG. With potentially another ACL, it opens up another spot in the mid season draft. Perhaps we secure one of the better performed Casey players and Werribee’s Declase plus a good under age junior?
  17. Can’t believe we left Kozzy out for that game. Might have been better off to hold him off being managed for one more game (4 days later).
  18. Far less damage done than the Hawkins elbow on May and the opponent also ducked into his elbow so it should get the all clear.
  19. Yes but he’s eligible for one this year as well. Sholl of Adelaide received one earlier this year.
  20. You need look no further back than Geelong’s loss to the Swans last night. They were far superior by every statistical measure but the Swans’ determination to win and their belief in themselves led them across the line. We need to be up from the beginning and not relent until the final siren.
  21. Collingwood have the more talented players but the Suns are playing as if they want to win.
