  1. I observed this too regarding Green. He kicks it high and slower. You will notice when he is on the run at pace and kicks, they travel faster because he gives it penetration. However when he just lopes and kicks - or even from standing still from a free kick or after a mark - he doesnt have the penetration and the when the ball is kicked long or higher the ball hangs in the air a bit. Invariably it sometimes enables the opposition to spoil when it reaches its target. Just an observation Regarding Miller, average game I thought this time littered with clangers (5), gave away 3 free kicks. 14 possessions (4 contested); 7 marks; 1 tackle; 1 Goal 1 Behind. 1 Assist.
  2. Yes, I meant prior to 2007. When Geelong won prior to Sandy's premierships in the VFL. Agree. Its a partnership. At both levels they try their best by working with one another to achieve those optimum outcomes. Very much as Neale Daniher and Mark Williams did in 2004-05-06. They had a great working relationship, that was expressed by both.
  3. C for C. Scott Welsh is a good player, alot better than Kent Kingsley IMO. Tomahawk is still young and can take a good pack mark overhead - where as the other two have trouble doing that, Tomahawk - he'll be a decent player for Geelong's future.
  4. I agree with Hurley at Essendon, dee-luded, with Mal retired. They need someone down back with Ryder. Hurley has been touted as a top 8 pick. Bit surprised you have Vickery ahead of Naitanui. I think Vickery will go between 10-15. I think its a certainty Naitanui will go 2 or 3.
  5. Physical specimen, with injured knee - Maybe Yes. Footballer, Not. Sorry Mono, try again...
  6. He's in his 3rd year. Not worth contemplating, he is going to be a very important player for us. Would love us to land a 'Blease' or 'Zaharkis' with our second pick. They have great pace for the midfield and it would suit our in and under type brigade. NOTE: Zaharkis was named best on the weekend, again.
  7. Whilst clubs would be entertaining 'the idea', Melbourne will not, mfc will keep him and sign him soon. End of story. Bruce and Green are required players.
  8. Great to hear reports the boys dressed up in their suits and presented really well along with the Powerpoint Presentation. Must of really made an impression on young Robbie. Well Done Dees.
  9. I can't believe the quality of the players at Chelsea. The boss there must really love Chelsea, or he just has far way too much money to throw around.
  10. Its amazing how quick it comes around. They play virtually all year round with friendlies, Pre-season comp, and Exhibition matches in other countries. Man U and Chelsea will be One and Two again. I think Chelsea might get the title this year. The Champions League Final loss in Russia and Terry's miss will go along way to regaining the title. Agree. Keane will be a welcome addition for Liverpool. He will provide more goals than Crouch who is at Portsmouth now.
  11. Did the alliance work cohesively? Did The Western Bulldogs come off the better with Werribee as its partner? No premierships between the two. But they were a good alliance and worked cohesively together. The young Bulldog players developed down at Werribee to the point where the Bulldogas are now at. I envisage the same had happened between Melbourne and Sandringham. DEVELOPMENT. Successive Finals 2004-05-06. Whilst Sandy were winning premierships. There is your explanation. ANd if you cannot see your explanation, forget it. Premierships whilst being the measuring stick for Ultimate success is NOT the only gain.
  12. RR. You stated, "Comparing their work effort between the Essendon game and this game is like assessing the gap in the Grand Canyon.
  13. Again....Comparing the number of premierships is incredibly simplistic and doesn't even come close to analyzing the real strength of the alliance.
  14. All the more reason for me not to want the Dogs to win

    Jumper Numbers

    Hear, hear.
  16. Geelong is hardly the right example to use RR They are an awesome side no matter what fortress you put them to play in. But for a young side like West Coast has been putting out of late, I'm tipping they will play out of their skin in front of 38,000 West Coast Fans and not play to this same level in front of 17,900 Dees fans at the G.
  17. Good one 45!
  18. At the trade table..
  19. And sides playing at home tend to lift their work ethic in front of their supporters. Ie West Coast in front of 38,000 at Subiaco last week. Younger players have had a history of not travelling well. Yes, they did play poorly, and Melbourne enforced them to play poorly during the game. Don't forget players such as Chad Fletcher are at the end of their tether. Aside from this, I was impressed with Morton, Martin, Buckley, Maric and Newton. To name a few.
  20. 1. You're not giving Melbourne enough credit. 2. West Coast had alot of young inexperienced players who were outplayed.

    Jumper Numbers

Why?! What and go down Richmond's path, no thanks... Exactly, Captains should forge their own numbers pretty much with what they started with at a club.
  22. White, only if fit. Otherwise Meesen. No.
  23. I agree Nasher, people who for one second believe that those West Coast players did not try, did not man up, etc either were not at the game or wouldn't know a football game if they saw one.
  24. Lets just hope Freo don't make it too hard or costly for us.
  25. You're pathetic! You may as well go somewhere else.
