  1. Gotta love the media outlets that couldn't be bothered using any of the multitude of cleanskin images of Pert a 5 second internet search provides but rather decided that Collingwood sponsers deserved more exposure.
  2. Port cannot defend i-50. They also can't execute the too-cute kicks they're attempting.
  3. 20%. So far in 2018 WC average home games get 53697, Fremantle get 45585.
  4. Hey Jara. I could summarise the interview, but I don't think that's what you're after. Islam(/Islamism) in the West is a very specific topic, though specifics are actively discouraged these days in favour of the excessive pursuit of tolerance. (Cue Aristotle) It requires specific and analytical discussion of sharia and its outcomes without instant dismissal as prejudice, an acknowledgement of the harm that has beset countries and their populace after the ascendancy of Islamic autocracy, and therefore an examination of the clear path to Islamic totalitarianism that is defined within the religion and emboldens extremists and fundamental adherents alike. That is what I took from the interview that relates to the topic.
  5. From the timestamp, 10 minutes relevent to the discussion:
  6. https://7plus.com.au/live-tv Redtails dominating late in the first.
  7. I'll begrudingly support a 0.0.3 to 0.0.2 win so we keep our percentage going up.
  8. Conversations with John Anderson: Featuring Peter Baldwin
  9. Boys will want to play wet footy and not muck around.
  10. True, but that happens often enough and is only sometimes called (there was one not paid in the bombers game). I think the drop kick actually has a place for quickly going somewhat under the coming defender that was on the mark to an open man forward and wide.
  11. How about the drop kick? I reckon Hibberd could get a good 70m pass going from defensive fifty to thirty out that doesn't go above chest height.
  12. At an event a few weeks back, Stephen Pinker spoke about how humanity has progressed across many critical measures over recent centuries. I've linked below to the 21 minute mark (the final three minutes) where he starts to ask why we don't recognise this. (The analysis of human progress starts at 2:09 for those interested)
  13. A fascinating one hour interview with Scott Adams on Trump. References his predictions, Trumps skills, persuasion, tweets, potential with North Korea, Russia and more. From November '17.

    GAME DAY

Trippled down on the forward pressure. Think that dam will burst. Brayshaw a worry imo, hopefully he works into it.

  16. Not having the numbers seems rather odd. Could it be that the interference in Tassie football over more recent years is the driver of that outcome?
  17. Thanks nutbean. Transit usually provides a good chunk of time to fill for me. The second discussion is 1.5 hours, perhaps more digestible. Certainty certainly constrains - for better or for worse.
  18. There's a lot going on in the world. How do we find 'true' meaning? How fraught with danger is that search? It was an initial thought of injustice that sent me down a weeks long rabbit hole and lead to the podcast below. This thread will hopefully be much, much more than an analysis of the rights and wrongs of the podcast, though they're more than welcome. Bring forth your meaning, your struggles, your life changing moments. Your podcasts, book references, moments of clarity, transcendence and, dare I say, divinity. To that end I will say that these last few weeks have seen a strange convergence of things in my life that previously had maintained a strict level of isolation. I'm still working towards a greater understanding such that I can clearly present it to others. This post is, I guess, part of that process. I'm currently reading 'This is your brain on music' by Daniel J. Levitin. (book discussion thread future post) and plan to follow it with Jordan Petersons '12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos'. Note: The podcast is 2.5 hours. I found in thoroughly engaging and was surprised that it ended 'so quickly'. Note2: Please please adhere to forum rules. Private discussions of heated disagreement are vastly preferable to having the thread closed down. Thanks in advance. ===
  19. Hi Jara, Perhaps crippling in this case was too severe (exchange with limiting if you like) but you chose Hawthorn for a reason. What was the motivation for choosing Hawthorn and not e.g. St Kilda or Fremantle? The Hawks certainly haven't destroyed the roads etc etc.
