To greater and lesser degrees, that probable loss vs potential win could be the dfifference in: A coach getting sacked A player deciding to leave A top 8 finish (and the related financial / media windfall) A board spill Edge cases perhaps, but it would be nice if we moved closer to a real draw rather than a fixture.

A number of years ago I flew to Adelaide ($56) then drove a rental to Alice ($300 total fuel inc) for the match (ticket x2 $50). Overnight in Port Augusta ($130) with 2 nights in Alice (for $190 total). Flew back to Melbourne red eye (~$300). Money well spent and a great experience (even through West Coast pipped us).
