  1. #Sowhatyouresaying No doubt your comment was tongue in cheek, but the resentment it broadly represents is self crippling.
  2. Somewhat relevent to the OP, though tangential, and to claims/discussions in the thread. Wasn't sure where else to put it. 1.4m views in four days.
  3. I watched the first season of 'Future Man' recently. Bite sized episodes (~26 minutes) of crass, cringe-worthy excellence! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4975856/videoplayer/vi1185265689?ref_=tt_ov_vi
  4. Which avatar should Choke select? Straw poll!
  5. Goodwin from 8:15 at the B&F appeared to be the FD view. The players view was that they knew their conditioning, loads and potential for injury better than the FD.
  6. Why even create the topic DaveyDee? An MFC employee from over a decade ago got a new job. OK. "Interesting". The eleven subsequent posts of yours go a fair way to answering my initial question, but do you have anything further to add?
  7. Plucking one from the many, I'm grateful for a winning season.
  8. I do hope that there's no 'interpretation' that allows the AFL to fine club supporters 20-100k for commenting on incorrect and undocumented rule of the week reamings by umpires. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-08-18/watch-the-umpire-commentary-afl-warns-clubs
  9. It seems that everyone at Eton Mall is unhappy now @nutbean - except the old Greek smokers. Ineffective legislation successfully deployed, but BOY did the government look tough on smoking. (And thank heavens the revenue keeps rolling in)
  10. Yep. Just tested, still there
  11. ^ Mr Jeff Lang playing there tomorrow night

  13. Coaching directives could also be at play here. We've had trouble stopping opposition run-ons and it's less costly to attempt to improve on our tempo control when we have a decent lead.
  14. Perhaps our manic running and heavy contested work doesn't allow for it yet? In those new stats we're generally as a team travelling further and faster than our opposition. One aspect anyway.
  15. Does it really matter where Port are on the ladder re attendance any year we play them at the 'G? For the record its was Melbourne 5th vs Port 8th. Both teams had won 4 on the trot, we were 8 - 4 going into the match. The percentage 'increase' in AFL crowds in 2016 vs 2006 was -9.6% This year to date vs 2006 is a more respectable -3.2%. Why did the MCG get it wrong? Ask them? As previously written though, 35% above the then record is ridiculous, sailing very close to taking the [censored]. If only it was raining cats and dogs ... a few more members might have landed from the clouds.
  16. Melbourne 18.12 (120) Port Adelaide 12.10 (82) MCG 24,283 2006.
  17. 10+% bigger than our previous best home crowd against Port in a year where we sit 9th on the home attendance figures. That includes the sold games with the lowest drawing game of the year (by almost 3000) at a Traeger Park against Gold Coast (5,072) and the 16th lowest crowd against Adelaide at Marrara Oval (12,104). Take out those game completely and we rise to 5th on the home attendance ladder. Substitute our average MGC home attendances against those clubs for a position somewhere in between 9th and 5th (don't have those figures at hand). Pretty damn good for a team that: finished 14th in the 2016 membership figures, hasn't finished in the 8 for 11 years, hasn't locked them in this year, has lost to teams currently sitting 17th, 14th, 12th, and has a losing balance against the current top 8 teams. Hard to see a universe in which that attendance should be described as pathetic. Edit: Collingwood, the other team to play Port at the MCG this year, got a crowd of 35,933 from their 75,000 members. The MCG estimate of 33k for our game was ridiculous (35% greater than our previous best)
