Is the holding-the-ball interpretation really better?
daisycutter replied to Traja Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
and its no longer the player lying over the ball face down with the pack over him, it is also now the guy lying on his back with the pack over him this is hardly the ball player pulling the ball UNDER watching wet coke and the scum tonight they have played HTB twice now for this - FMD and you can't even see if the original ball player has the ball in his possession still they originally said they would penalise the player WHO PULLED IT UNDER. They have gone way beyond that interpretation now this continual tinkering with HTB rule is really pissing me -
Is the holding-the-ball interpretation really better?

While we are talking about holding the man / holding the ball what about the third man in - tackling the tackler? Surely this is a blatant free against the third man in -
according to todays Hun they reckon Collingwood would be offering (affording) only 250k (each) for Beams and Sidebottom

RPFC: "my care factor is so low" OD: "what difference will it make" I've got no idea what either of you mean You don't care if we win against gws? You don't care if Green is dropped or not? You don't care if a new kid who has done well at Casey debuts? Why post on this thread then?

anyone know what happened to

may as well have Cook for Green, couldn't be any worse and being against gws could be an "easier" debut P.S. Petterd is injured

Is the holding-the-ball interpretation really better?

I said "deliberately letting the ball drop" I see many situations where a tackled player (deliberately) lets the ball drop (often to the advantage of a teamate, or in the direction of his goals) without making an attempt to correctly dispose I'm not talking of those situations where the ball is knocked out or the player makes a genuine attempt (and no prior opportunity) -
Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?
daisycutter replied to Satan's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought the connection could be that we are not really interested in Cloke per se but trying to force Collingwood to pay more for Cloke thus less available to renew contracts with other ooc players e.g. Beams, Sidebottom This could be a tactic to get some good midfielders Just saying -
Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?
daisycutter replied to Satan's topic in Melbourne Demons
So would I. Both A graders But it will cost us picks/players as well as money I don't think we would give up pick 4 so it would have to be pick 12/13(?) plus player(s) Or would we use pick 4 (or whatever the no after Viney)? -

Is the holding-the-ball interpretation really better?

no, but there is an incorrect disposal rule deliberately letting the ball drop is incorrect disposal - it happens too often the afl let it go supposedly in the interest of letting the game 'flow' but it is NOT in the rules -
Sorry Redleg but I would say they revel in showing and highlighting mistakes/interpretations during play and on replays. They are selective though, much more focus with certain clubs etc They do stop short on their comments re directly having a go at the umpires individually edit: spulling

I thought I did give my opinion I don't know why you think there can only be two positions to take on a topic As for a solution read my post again. I said back to the stands for the bugler.......and no band music (live or otherwise)

Hey, I didn't mention the bugler bugger so don't make assumptions as far as i'm concerned he should do his bit from the stands as he originally did. It doesn't do much for me anyway but i don't get my knickers in a knot either

Let down by our senior players again - Sylvia, Green, Moloney, Jamar We just can't carry this many non-performing senior players
-
Well don't start a discussion off by saying he was our worst player. That was rubbish. Keep the hyperbole out and state your case
-
Real tough luck Fitzy It will take time to stabilise and learn how to manage his condition I think that will account easily for the rest of this season Here's hoping you get on top of it big fella and continue playing You deserve some luck

Four Things I Learnt Today (or re-learnt) [1] We need a midfield (Swan,Beams,Sidebottom had 110+ possies between them) [2] Clarke is a better ruckman than Jamar (the Russian needs to get some coaching) [3] The maggots still don't like us [4] Did I say we need a midfield
