  4. jeebus, it must be hard to not show dissent when you watch such an incompetent umpiring display today at the mars stadium
  5. crows definitely look the stronger, fitter, more physical side
  6. and according to an article i read fta viewing is down 18% and kayo also down about 18% and live attendance is not being helped by the ticketing fiasco junior football participation is also down. my grandson's team have had to combine the u12s and u13s team into the u13s comp, and last weekend the team they played was a team combined of u13s and u14s and got smashed by 93 points.
  7. and what about when players claim a goal was touched and the umpire hasn't called it this happens a lot and generally umpires will call for the video review but surely this is dissent under the new rules. so what should happen? a free kick for a second goal?
  8. shocking turnovers just killing the giants
  9. his great grandmother was a scullery maid, uncle
  10. so wierd...... a game with zero tolerance to dissent played in a city where dissent is an expected way of life
  11. don't forget salem and hibberd
  12. true, but if they were full time professionals they could better hone their decision making and rule interpretation (as well as many other useful activities) So, for at least improving umpire standards and consistency at the AFL level it should work
  13. i'd like to see the gliders beat the filth, so both can sit down the bottom of the ladder
  14. i think teams playing on sunday who are forced to nominate a team on thursday have a bit more leeway for changes our team tonight would have more stringent conditions
  15. yeah, think this might be a close one
  16. i got sucked in nicely.......was fully prepared to vomit
  17. in terms of ducking or lowering your centre of gravity etc i like to split it into 2 categories 1. ducking/weaving etc away from the tackler, to avoid a tackle and break free. i consider this legitimate 2. ducking into a tackle. this is staging for a free and a free should not be played. it is either play on or holding the ball if there is prior. i would also like to see umps caution players who do this.

  19. which one? the afl one or the mfc one?
  20. starting 18 can't be fixed because the afl lineup is different from the mfc lineup
  21. it's the richmond pickett that is out (acc to ch9 news)
  22. hahaha this thread just rockets along and becomes a huge echo chamber i keep getting sucked in every time i see a new post has been entered

  24. yes, but they weren't the reigning premiers, which was the point
  25. eddie is becoming a parody of eddie
