  1. I said my preference was one renewable on form I said two maybe, meaning I was happy to leave it up to FD I think we agree, no?
  2. OK, pal, show me where I said anything about a bad design. I just said with a good design it will still be 80% white I already said I had seen the clash jumper thread (and if you look at that thread you will see I have commented) I already said I was "in favour of getting the best possible design out there" I said "That will make me happier but not happy" I'm not bagging the designs on that thread, some are quite good Its simple really - I don't like a predominately white jumper - thats my POV - NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH DESIGN This was in reference to "that is being dismissive of the past" from rpfc replying to belzebub59 Utter poppycock, or as belzebub59 put it "utter rubbish" and "Tripe !!" Now can we stop mis-interpreting posters comments and passions.
  3. Any chance either one is foxing and will pull a change before the game? What do you think?
  4. you obviously can't comprehend or read suggest you go and re-read what I and other poster said
  5. agree with all that problem is when something is eventually introduced it could become the thin end of the wedge
  6. What did I do to deserve that? You asked twice what he meant so I finally answered and you give me a lecture about your original lecture (which I already understood) Thanks for nothing pal. Are you a teacher in real life? Next time I won't try and help you.
  7. Pretty much my opinion. One year fine, maybe two, but no more. Preference one year renewable on form I expect him to sign. I trust the FD to make the best decision in whatever circumstances crop up.
  8. Sheesh rpfc. ok you asked In reply to your lecture on adverbs and forum etiquette he said "Always one anal in the mix!" Expanding that "There is always one anal-retentive person in the mixture of posters on the board" That help?
  9. Don't be a sook rpfc. You are welcome here, just drop the disrepect/dismissive of heritage/tradition carp argument
  10. I'm open-minded and uncommitted Like I said in earlier post I'd want much more discussion first on whats available, how it would work, what are we looking for etc Have no doubt that eventually we will use more technology, but too much of the hype in the press is just that, and knee-jerk reactions
  11. He didn't say that was the only reason. He just made one reasonable point But have it your way
  12. give it a break RPFC no-one is being dismissive (or disrespectful) of the past. Its all in your mind . . . . and you're spinning your wheels
  13. Billy, you're being a bit tough on JCB and reading too much into his comments He just made a point that Bruce has good fitness which is an important consideration for an ageing player He then emphasised that by pointing out he had a limited pre-season and also was able to finish off the season well Thats quite reasonable and relatively easy to understand I would have thought
  14. the problem here is that when this option is given to the umpires, the number of questionable decisions increases. This has happened in other sports. Look at the number of run out decisions that get referred in cricket. Look at the number of tries in NRL that get referred. The umpires would increasingly take the "safe" option and refer decisions when there was only a tiny doubt. Not saying that there will be five or more referrals per game, but the number of questionable incidents will definitely increase as the pressure on the umpire increases and an alternative exists. Not to say it shouldn't be done, but your statement above is a bit optimistic
  15. NO I'd just feel dirty if we traded anyone from the filth.
  16. I'm not saying some of the designs, in as far as they can go aren't too bad. (yes. I've seen them) Its just that when you are restricted to about 80% white, you still inevitably end up with about 80% white. No design can get around that. Whats ridiculous (or ludicrous) about saying that? I thought it pretty obvious. (P.S. as we are stuck with a predominately white jumper for the moment, yes I am in favour of getting the best possible design out there, I have always said that. That will make me happier but not happy . . if you know what I mean)
  17. Relax . . . I was only kidding you BTW, not taking sides, but I'm sure you did understand what he meant
  18. 4 characters and you had to edit it??? lift your game rpfc
  19. I wouldn't suggest it nowadays, but I went to the 1966 Collingwood V St.Kilda GF without a ticket A mate and I scaled the fence/wall (IIRC between the old Northen stand and the old outer where it was lower) at about 3am Hid in the toilets of the outer until the U19's game started Had a great time, but was feeling pretty weary by the time the main event started True story
  20. Good luck How's he off for socks and undies?
  21. I wouldn't call having Fevola "good fortune" but, I think if you go through past threads you'll find plenty of hate for Carlton - they certainly deserve plenty
  22. problem here is what video technology and which particular goal scoring errors are you trying to eliminate and how it would work its hard to vote on something without a little more definition for example just more visual angles, hot spot technology etc trying to determine if ball over line, off the boot, touched by opposition, hit post, correct side of post etc how is it referred eg goal umpire, central umpire, captains appeal . . . any time limits for resolution, no of appeals . . . also what happens if a blatant unseen free kick is identified when reviewing video? In NRL they also check for this sort of stuff too worth discussing more before voting
  23. as long as that's good for the gander, I'm with you rpfc
  24. Oh, and by the way, its pretty hard to come up with good designs when 80+% of the jumper has to be white Think about that one
