  1. Sure, I wasn't knocking Jack I just would have loved his answer to be a little more passionate and intense. Can't imagine Scully answering the question like that.
  2. Who else was a little disappointed when Watts said he wasn't that bothered by losing.
  3. Zaharakis will never be more than an average footballer, unfortunately Strauss might not even get to average.
  4. What happens if we are 5-0 at the start of the year?
  5. You have mastered the art of preseason waffle. Injuries aside with the draw we have we should win 10 - 13 games and maybe a final. That is where expectations should be set.
  6. And another clanger from the clanger king.
  7. Umm, let's see. Frawley, Green, Jamar, Davey, Trengove, Garland, Scully, Bartram, Grimes, Jurrah, Wonaeamirri, Petterd, Sylvia, Morton, Bennell, Watts and Bail all get to play together for another season and all should improve on last year. Throw in Maric, Tapscott, Gysberts, Jetta, possibly Blease and maybe Cook or even Howe. On top of that you've got Moloney, Jones, MacDonald, Dunn and Rivers. It's a solid list of players with some cream to start rising. Your evaporating optimism will return before the first bye.
  8. Face the facts Demonlanders, he's a Rolled Gold Dud. He'll become the biggest waste of Pick 1 since Nick Launder and NikNat will become the star so many of us knew him to be. Personally if you look closely at Tim Harrington we've got Watts - Dud, Blease - Injured Dud, Tapscott - Big injured Dud, Strauss - Plain Dud, Maric - Average at best, Jetta - Average at best, Bail - can't kick, MacDonald - Brisbane Dud, Martin - Please!, Spencer - Oh my!, Petterd - Injured, Warnock - Dud, Scully - off to GWS and why wouldn't he be, Trengove - Too slow(Martin to Richmond, I was calling his name in vain!), Gysberts - built for chess, Bennell - soft dud, Sylvia - great for 10 mins a match. You lot seriously over rate this rabble and the coach, Please, time to get a real one! Posted by Collingwood friend of Roost It!!
  9. Bar Frawley and Morton and to a lesser extent Campbell I'd say we've just completed a near perfect pre-season. Virtually everyone's had a run, not 1 serious injury during a match. Tapscott and Blease have both played. Maric and Jetta have shown they have what it takes. Jurrah's proven he's going to tear the game apart at some point. Scully's making all the right noises. Some of you wish we were playing as well as Esssendon, let's just look at the scorecard after round 5. Go Demons, Unleash hell!
  10. Players got a run, no injuries, all good. can't wait to get the train to the G.
  11. If he doesn't win some hard contested footy and bust open some picks when he's in his prime (22-29) then he's a wasted pick. If we wanted someone to float around the flanks taking easy marks, spotting up others and kicking the odd goal then we could have waited till pick 30 something.
  12. The only thing I know about Lawrence is that collingwood were filthy when we picked him. Apparently they had spent a fair amount of time and effort scouting him and were very keen to get him.(This information was gained in a conversation with a collingwood coterie member with a full set of teeth)
  13. No they're not, They are trying to help out themselves. Shortsighted, poor decision.
  14. He may well have been told that if his form doesn't improve he'll start at Casey but I'd be shocked if that was already locked 3 weeks from game day. What if he kicks 6 on the weekend?
  15. He'll hurt his groin, get frustrated and walk away.....maybe.

  18. So GWS haven't spoken to Scully and yet the rumours were so strong that he'd signed. Gubby Allen is up to his old tricks. GWS would be looking at a handful of players from Melbourne, let's face it we've got aot of talent. They can only have one of them and they've got 2 years to snare them. This year their job is to create as much suspicion and angst as possible and hopefully force some clubs into overpaying a few of their players. What this does is then open the door for them to grab a player next year because the club has overpaid another and left itself unable to adequately compensate all it's players (Think Richmond with Martin). The MFC would be keenly aware of this and for us to keep our list together and continue to add to it we're going to need a player's agreement similiar to Geelong. Their is no way we can pay all our players their open market worth if they develop as we hope. Tim Harrington must wake up in a cold sweat from time to time. Exciting Times!
  19. I have always thought Tom would stay but I also did say that if he didn't commit at today's press conference then he was gone. I'll take that back. As I expected Tom is a complete professional. He won't be hassled into signing until he and his manager are ready. I was far from convinced about the need for today's Press conference but actually think it went ok from a club point of view. Whilst speculation will remain I think it will die down significantly once the season starts. Do I still think the club and players can be distracted by such issues, my answer remains Yes. Will I whole heartedly support Tom and leave him alone in the street, Absolutely, to do anything else would be childish and counter productive.
