That wasn't loyalty that was his excuse for not taking the hard road. He was scared, probably of failure. Not an uncommon trait amongst us humans. Highlighted how important good fathers are to a person's development.
Scully's the most important player on our list, don't waste your time talking down his skills or possible problems. Without him the chance of winning our next premiership is made much, much harder. He is all class combined with tenacity and a serious commitment to success. He's a keep at all costs kind of player. Personally I just can't see him leaving.
Nice spin but for the teams ultimate success the best thing is to have guys like Frawley without serious injury(which is what this is) and playing every week. It builds his confidence and the teams.
Sheedy's a marketing tool for the new franchise, the guy's a walking headline. After his countless attacks on this great club I'm not sure why anyone around here would stick up for him but hey that's just my opinion.
I'd say the FD would be challenging Martin to step up. He's basically got 4 months to cement a spot in the side. We could play Warnock and probably will at times but how much can he really offer?
If you read previous posts you'd know I'm firmly in the "he's not leaving" camp. I was replying to JCB who seems to think that if players of the likes of Scully leave then so be it. Whilst I'm saying that losing Scully would seriously undermine our flag hopes, possibly end them.
My 4 year old wasn't sold on footy and has had an annoying aunt in his ear about Geelong. He came home about 5 months ago and told me he barracked for the cats and he was serious. Let's just say it stung me into action. Since then I've run Project Demons. Suffice to say he now signals a goal when I mention Jack Watts (with a two thumbs up addition) and his favourite player is Liam Jurrah. He then asked me if he could have a jumper for Xmas. It's the best $100 I've spent this year.
Number 24
You most certainly do to some around here.
Scully won't sign because he's single minded in his focus on getting the absolute best out of himself and his career. Money will be part of that equation but not the be all and end all. He'll wait until Melbourne offer him the kind of money he knows he can earn. It'll then be up to the club to determine if he's worth it. I've got a hunch they think he is! Remember we've got plenty to offer, we're not the basket case we were 3 years ago and he's in a great position to see that.
