a handful of VFL games and a practice match aren't considered hard facts, maybe hard up for facts would be more appropriate, and in my opinion your opinion is controversial
-
Nothing in those goals suggests he's going to make it at AFL level. So you've seen him play VFL and a practice match and now your opinion isn't worthless and polemic. I'll take my hunch over your opinion.
-
I have now watched the video's which have not changed my mind and you're right I was being a little dramatic in saying attacked.
-
I watched the first video, he kicks one from a free kick, one off the ground from a metre out and his opponent falls over gifting him his fourth. Hardly the stuff of a soon to be champion but keep the enthusiasm going it's very sweet.
-
Fair point. It does amaze me just how many people now attack you for posting an opinion, albeit a loosely formed one.
-
They flushed you out though. And they are inane. I've decided to post at the level that know prevails on this once readable site.
-
There seems to be alot of excitement about a kid who is big and can kick. We'll see what happens but I don't think he'll make it at AFL level. I've got nothing against Tapscott and I love others enthusiasm I just don't share it.
-
No I haven't seen him play. I would expect at VFL level he wouldn't get beaten for strength. Yes he certainly has a great kick. Does he have the nous and other tricks to make it at AFL level. I have my doubts.
-
I hate to play down the excitement but what exactly is everyone so excited about. I've got a feeling he's a one trick pony.
-
I thought it would be fun whipping him

C'mon folks, sign up, you can't be in too many leagues.

Pontificate all you like Football scribes. Talk players missing, talk tactics, talk their last meeting, talk all you like but remember the Demon is stirring and although this is clearly another development year the Mighty Boys will want to win this one to kick off the new season. Expect Colin to run through walls to deliver lace out to the likes of Jurrah, Petterd, Dunn and Watts and if he misses watch young Maric and Wonaeamirri swoop on the crumbs. Down back expect Garland, Grimes, Rivers, Jetta and New boy Tapscott to repel the bulk of the Swans forward forays. I sense some panic about our midfield well panic no further folks, Jamar, Trengove, Bail, Moloney, Davey, Jones, Sylvia, Bennell and at times Jetta, Tapscott, Grimes and Maric will provide plenty of ball for our forwards. Now all you need to do is get yourself to the Hallowed turf by 2.10 to watch the Rise of the Demon. Prediction: Melbourne by 27 points. Goals: Jurrah 3, Maric 2, Sylvia 2, Petterd 2, Wonaemirri 2 Best: Sylvia, Petterd, Garland, Grimes, Maric, Watts Highlight Reel: Goodes streaming into goal, watch out, watch out, gone!! a bone crunching tackle from Sylvia and the ball spills free, kick off the ground by Grimes who runs and recovers the ball in the back pocket, chip to garland who gives off to Jetta, quick hands to Tapscott who turns inboard and kicks long, low and hard to Trengove in the centre, Trengove looks upfield and sees Watts on a long lead, his kick finds Watts 60 metres from goal directly in front, Watts reels around on his left and go's BANG from outside 50, Demons back in front!

Started another league for those interested. Supercoach Number 116197 I'd expect it to fill fast so jump on in.

Pessimist: Mckenzie has OP and will most likely miss the season. Scully has a cracked Patella and will be lucky to play any games this year. Optimist: Mckenzie has a sore groin will resume training in 6 weeks and play again in 8. Scully will rest and play in round 6 for Casey and resume in Round 7 or 8 for Melbourne. Either way you look at it the news isn't great. Important development missed, Groins and knees are often long term concerns often going beyond the one season. Good news however for Blease, Tapscott, Gysberts and Jetta. Some important game time coming up. I'm also disappointed Morton won't get to run around with Goodes again. It's a great learning curve for the kid. I still think we should beat the Swans as they have some injury concerns of their own. Still on track for 2014.

You asked

You are a complete goose

What about this for a scenario. We win 11 games, narrowly lose to Hawks, Collingwood, St Kilda and miss the 8 with a percentage of 102.4. Paul Roos signals his desire to coach a Melbourne team. Do we resign Bailey or offer Roos a contract? On top of this do you think the club has already approached anyone with a view to taking us to the next level or are they happy with Bailey? Part of me would love to see Bailey given the chance to finish what he's began but could the club pass on Roos.

Watts will end up 100kg, 196cm, strong, toned athlete/footballer. He'll easily be able to bust open a pack and then out run nearly everyone to kick the goal. He's going to be an incredible weapon at 23 - 24 years of age. The only thing he has to learn is to kick goals when he has the chance and hit packs at full pace. Can't really see either of those things being a problem for him.
-
No, he's most certainly in our best 22 as our list stands today. Bate's finished, Dunn will be exposed and he works beautifully with Jurrah. He's got that little extra magic unlike Bennell at the moment, Maric and Jetta can both force their way in but Wonaeamirri is ahead of all 3 .
-
Always reward good form even in practice matches. Backs: Bartram, Garland, Bail, Rivers, Grimes, Jetta Mids: Jamar, Trengove, Moloney, Scully, Davey, Sylvia Forwards: Watts, Dunn, Maric, Petterd, Green, Jurrah Int: Jones, Tapscott, Macdonald Supersub: Martin I think we'll beat the Swannies by 11 points in a classic struggle
-
When fit he's comfortably in our best 22, just talk to anyone in the FD and they'll agree.
-
Play Watts on him, tall,fast,agile.
-
Wonaeamirri is comfortably in our best 22
