I disagree. I think He's an old school footballer. Not quick, not flash skills but gutsy. I've got nothing against him but the game requires you to be quick with good skills therefore i don't think he'll make it. It's just an opinion but the right one. In Daniher's days it was these type of players that constantlt held us back, we can't go there again.
The only question one needs to ask oneself is this
-Do I want Tom Scully playing at Melbourne next year and for the 10 years after that?
-If you answer anything other than yes you surely don't barrack for Melbourne.
-Forget the "winning culture" crap because it's just that crap. This club has had it's heart pulled out, stood on, kicked and finally thrown away. We are a shell of a club, We have very very little going for us at the moment. The only thing we do have left is the possibility of creating a great team in 3 - 4 years time. Those of you who think beating WC or anyone else for that matter ala Dogs in 07 need your heads read, NikNat or Rich would currently be in Melbourne colours if we had lost that game as well as pick 18 from that draft. That means we would be a better side with more upside and more chance of claiming that Premeirship we so want. So next year when we can look back at our 5 great wins this year and Scully is running around for West Coast are you telling me that you're going to be thinking "Gee, I'm glad we beat WC in that great game last year" I'm mean that's just truly ridiculous and if you weren't being argumentative fools you'd know it, if you don't already.
-We will not win more than 4 games, if we do we'd become the laughing stock of the league, Oh, hang on we already are!
This is called marketing and part of the modern day footballers job, espcially the very good ones playing for a struggling club, is to help market the club, to attract fans and to generate excitement. jack did this and the club will continue to do this with him. He'll earn plenty and the club has to generate his wage the only way it can, get bums on seats. It's not my thing but I think the club is finely starting to operate in a professional manner, so i say good on them. By the way carlton has done the same things with their big recruits.
Davey's worth in the backline is 2-3 goals more than playing him forward. Have you noticed that he's having his best season playing there?
No Bailey was employed to fix the list, train the new players and then win finals. The list he took over was finished as Robertson, JMac, Whelan, Wheatley and co prove to us on a weekly basis.
We will win between 8 and 12 depending on injuries. I'm not going to explain where the improvement will come from because you won't understand.
Careful DD youv'e got RR, H and Jaded all having a crack.(All in agreement of course) Remember to be careful when posting the truth it often gets in the way of a good post.
By the way we can only judge players on the form they produce. On form Brock is close to finished. That doesn't mean he is, it means if his form line doesn't change the kids will overrun him, literally.
