  1. Truly informative post, well done, did you even read it? All I basically stated that this club has had no luck and that I don't think we can fill Jimmy's shoes. Hardly sniping or bitching, just my opinion. I've not denigrated Don or said he's not a good man, just that I, as in me, don't think he'll be able to do the job Jimmy was doing. I'm happy to be wrong on that point but I'm not happy to have my posts labelled unnecessary and pathetic by posters who think they talk the gospel, because they clearly don't. If you think the club's run of luck over the last 40 odd years has been terrific then good for you.
  2. I'm not making an ill informed comment at all. The guy works full time and thus can't possibly give the same amount of time to the club that Jimmy was giving. I also think Jimmy is an exceptional leader that this club so desperately needed and finally had. Because of this I don't think he's the man for the job. Not because I don't think he's good man, as I've already said. I have nothing but gratitude for those who offer up their spare time for the club. It doesn't mean I simply fall in behind them without questioning whether they are the right person for the job. As far as luck goes, Will this club have any? and the club hasn't had any luck. I think both ae correct so shove your postering over semantics right where your last post went.
  3. That's actually a really good crowd for a club on the bottom with the lowest number of supporters of all clubs
  4. I don't it's just what I think. I mean that's what we generally post isn't it? Our thoughts on all matters MFC. Jim was working pretty much fulltime on this club, I doubt Don has that kind of spare time. I'm in no way slighting his input or efforts thus far, or him for that matter. I just believe this club needs a really strong leader of the calibre of Stynes. I'm not so why it's pathetic or defeatist to suggest this club hasn't had any luck, let's face it, it hasn't. And quite clearly it is a farked thing to happen so shove your post right where it fits.
  5. For fark's sake, it's their turn to be dropped, their form is woeful. As for Johnson, never is too early for him to play seniors again.
  6. JMac should "succumb" to his "knee Injury" and retire next week. Whelan, Wheatley, Bell, Johnson and Robertson should all go back to Casey and only play if they totally rip it up at that level. Mclean should go off to surgey and sprint training. Bruce should be given a few weeks rest due to "injury" Cheney, Newton, Maric, Valenti, Watts, Bail, McNamara, Strauss, Bennel and Jetta should play out the season and only get demoted if injured or their form is really terrible. Time to start building for next year. I've got a feeling something like this may happen soon.
  7. 4 quarters of sustained effort will do me, oh yeh and at least 3 goals each quarter
  8. Paul Johnson: close to delisted, if not this year then i'd guarantee next. Miller: I just don't know what to do with him. Hopefully as our midfield improves so will his output.
  9. This post is about Don and the club. I've no doubt Stranga has Jimmy in his thoughts. The fact is Jimmy's work is only half done and he is the leader this club so desperately neede and had, albeit for possibly to short a time. I wish him all the best, this club won't survive without a leader at the helm.
  10. I'm not convinced he's the man for the job. What a farked thing to happen. Is this club ever going to get lucky again?
  11. I'm off to the website to make my purchase.
  12. HT, If I remember we had a bet for a Demon Heartland membership. Was that with you?
  13. You know what the best thing about Tom Scully is? He's ours, all ours, WoooooHoooooHaaaaaHaaaaaa
  14. We also ran into 3 sides in their best form of the year. Collingwood are on a roll and the whole Watts thing played into their hands. Essendon as Carlton can attest are up and about. The Bears at the Gabba was never going to be easy. Unfortunately that has let the anti Bailey brigade out of the box. Confidence is now a problem so this week will be a tough match. This year is all about development and not winning games. Yes we won 3 games last year, 2 of them were very lucky wins and the other was against WC. To say we haven't improved is just plain wrong. This rebuild is going to take time. We're basically starting a team from scratch except we don't get the pick of the draft 2 years running like most start ups do!
  15. At the moment I would hope the club are taking the 2 players most likely to become elite. If it's a KPP it's going to take longer. Just look at Riewoldt. Our forward line should develop ok. Our midfield is so bad it's ridiculous.
  16. I think Bate will also continue to improve
  17. Incorrect. As a bottom age recruit with alot of filling out to do he's going just fine, injuries aside. I'd be surprised if the football department weren't planning a role for him. The backline will probably lose Martin so the spot exists for him if he's good enough.
  18. With good delivery that's a potent forward line, who knows what pick 18 will deliver. Will Martin play ruck or forward? Can Miller improve with better players around him? Our forward line will certainly improve with the delivery of scully, Trengove, Sylvia, Grimes and Morton, not to mention slipping Davey back to the forward line once our midfield improves and Bennel can play his backline roll.
  19. Not at all. I'll trust the club to make that decision. As for Buckley. I'd love to see him improve his skills and become a player, same goes for jetta
  20. We're not recruiting a half forward with pick 1 in the draft
