The fact that does stand out however is that as 22 - 27 year olds this would be a pretty tough team to beat. Now I think we should give Bailey the time and space to develop this team.

We could bring back Wheatley who could kick it long to our non existent forward line then stand there with hands on hips as the ball is whisked to the other end for an opposition goal. The game in it's current form is about possession and the quality of it. Who's going to mark it and who in our midfield is going to run from end to end to implement your plan, Mclean maybe? "Kick it long" is not a plan. Unless your plan is to lose possession and then watch whilst the opposition uses the other wing to play possession football and score.

If Buckley or Viney wanted to coach Melbourne then I've no doubt they'd be given the job. However the club won't be changing coaches this year. So far Bailey hasn't done anything wrong. What's your "true measure"?

Whilst not disagreeing with you, don't you think a midfield out of Scully, Grimes, Sylvia, Blease, Strauss, Mclean and Jones may be enough. Remember we also have pick 18 and pick 1 in the preseason draft. I think we need to pick the 2 absolute best players regardless of their current playing positions

Are we forgetting about Sylvia and Grimes as midfielders with both grunt and class to compliment Scully?
