WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
Ron Burgundy replied to xman97's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dawes should start to really focus on his legal career after football now. It seems the sand in the hourglass is disappearing for him quite quickly. -
Don't get all technical on me Chris. I am starting to immediately regret this decision.
-
Yep. It's on. No need to take a sabbatical though. I just get to choose your avatar for a 2 month period as well. Don't let me down here Jack.
-
I'll back Watts to play more than 10 games next year. For the Dees, not Casey.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
Ron Burgundy replied to xman97's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just watched the interview on the club's website. If he's not the most articulate 18 year old in the country, I don't who is. Strikes me as an absolutely quality young man. Hogan + Weideman = something to look forward to. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOSHUA WAGNER

Will be really disappointed if Michie is not on the rookie list next year. I still think he can make it. -

Roos will love this kid. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

I'm super happy with Oliver. The upside seems enormous - he seems the type of player who'll be really exciting to watch crashing into packs, winning the pill and then applying the high octane after burners around the park. I think Essendon have also done well in landing Parish who'll also turn out to be a really good AFL player. -

Looks like a good bloke. -
Shows the change in professionalism at the MFC. In former times, we'd already have interviews with Parish or Oliver on the official website saying 'welcome to the club'. Here's our future saviour.
-
I'd be interested to see who Port and the Dogs have listed as a better prospect out of Oliver and Parish. They seem to nail mids.
-
Suspect it might be the other way around. Parish and Oliver will each be available at pick 3. Neither will be available at pick 7. Whereas Weideman and Curnow are much more likely to be available at pick 7.
-
Reading this, it seems that: - pick 3 is likely to be a contest between Parish and Oliver (and Essendon will take the player we don't select with this pick); and - pick 7 is likely to be a contest Weideman, Milera and Curnow (as Essendon will pick one of Oliver/Parish and Francis and GCS won't take either of Weideman and Curnow. The paradox of choice!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

I'd be absolutely stoked with Parish and Oliver. Would be very happy with Parish and Curnow though too. -
We have that player. His name is Jeff Gartlett.
-
Is that just in a season? Jaeger O'Meara style transformation.
-
Reckon Jack Viney will get the most Brownlow votes for the club next year. But he's no longer a 'surprise packet'.
-
Just got to believe in the club now. They seem to be getting everything right these days.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

If being a bull is the only prerequisite to being an elite junior AFL midfielder, draft an NRL player. Parish though just has to be number 3. For an AFL club. -
Peter Jackson recommits to Demons

This club is finally on its way. Up. Absolutely sensational news. -
There's a lot of guess work on this thread. Simple fact remains though, the club has pretty well stated that it has identified who it will pick at 3 and who it will pick at 7, although pick 7 will depend upon who Essendon and GCS pick beforehand. Taylor said they have ranked the players and it will be the 'best available' at 7. Fingers crossed - Parish at 3 and then one of Curnow, Oliver, Mathieson, Francis, Weideman or Milera at 7 (some of whom will be available). We're in a good position here.
-
Parish with 3. Surely.

Could be our first 500 gamer. -
Harmes or Kent. Think Melksham will impress a few of the doubters here too.
