  1. Love the kid but if you don't think his kicking needs work then you haven't been watching. The 20% and tiring stuff is a copout at best and bulldust at worst He strikes me as the sort of kid who will never stop trying to improve though

  3. I started thinking that until I saw his favourite players were our '94 forward line (ahhh the memories) I doubt BV could name 5 of the six
  4. Spot on. Never says anything he doesn't want people to hear. Often answers a question with an answer that has little or nothing to do with the question. E.g. Q: (Robbo AFL360) "Do you want Mitch Clark at Melbourne next year" A : Well, it's all about his health............" He is a genius
  5. We are well on the way
  6. No flack from me. I like him but I think he's a forward. Agree he had a Barry in the VFL GF but the ball was coming in frequently & under little pressure when Liam Jones lit up
  7. Because we really don't know. Clark has said SFA. MFC have said SFA So I'd wait & see how it all pans out before going off half cocked But if it does turn out that he's befouled our nest, yeah, go your hardest
  8. Did he ever do work experience in our recruiting department ?
  9. Is the penny dropping ? "Despite his ability to play as a utility, Watts still has some clear areas he wants to improve next year. “I want to become a better forward and marking forward. I want to get harder over the ball and I want to win my own footy more and I [want to work on] my concentration lapses,” he said." http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-09-22/versatility-remains-focus-for-watts
  10. Agree with all that Dazzler but I'd think the Dogs would have him in mind as a replacement for Big Will who is probably entering the latter stages of his career.
  11. He's been out of the AFL for a long time now Fence. Just having a kick with mates now - although I would think he still gets a nice cheque
  12. A big weekend for Norwoods with the local version taking out the EFL Grand Final - their maiden first division title. Former Demon Leigh Williams was BoG with 6 goals. Matty Bate solid down back & Jordan Gysberts kicked the first goal of the game. They will be hard to beat again next year, particularly if former Norwood junior Sam Blease fails to find a suitor at AFL level
  13. Colless finished up last year With both Koch & McGuire, the public gets seduced by their high profile media presence. In reality, it's a lot less about what they say & a lot more about what they do. Both have set & driven standards throughout their organisations to make them successful With regard to our board, I don't really care if our president is largely silent or if our CEO is calling the shots. His instructions from the board should simply be "fix this fricking mess". And then let him get on with it
  14. One on each leg
  15. I wouldn't be expecting to hear anything out of the club until after the AFL makes a determination on our "special assistance" submission I get the feeling that the loss of "our best player" was one of the key planks in that submission.
  16. He did tonight
  17. I wonder if Viv thought the same thing when he came over. It seemed to take him a long time to get back into the side after his broken jaw. If he was going through a bit of re-education then it seemed to work. He looked a much better player at year's end than at the early part of the season Admittedly, small sample size & long bow drawn
  18. I got to wondering how long it took them to get that list together The first column is the year they first played with Port. Second column is their draft year Pick & Player First at Port Draft ND 20 ~ Cornes 2001 2000 ND 44 ~ Carlisle 2006 2005 ND 5 ~ Boak 2007 2006 ND 55 ~ Gray 2007 2006 ND 71 ~ Westhoff 2007 2006 ND 4 ~ Hartlett 2009 2008 ND 38 ~ Broadbent 2009 2008 ND 9 ~ Moore 2010 2009 ND 12 ~ Schultz 2010 2002 ND 16 ~ Lobbe 2010 2007 ND 22 ~ Trengove 2010 2008 ND 16 ~ Pittard 2011 2009 ND 52 ~ O'Shea 2011 2010 RD 16 ~ Jonas 2011 2011 ND 6 ~ Wingard 2012 2011 ND 13 ~ Ebert 2012 2007 ND 7 ~ Wines 2013 2012 ND 12 ~ Monfries 2013 2004 GWS 17 year old selection ~ Hombsch 2013 2012 GWS NT zone selection ~ Neade 2013 2012 ND 5 ~ Polec 2014 2010 PSD 5 ~ White 2014 2006 Significant losses (excluding retirements) include Chaplin & Pearce and tragically John McCarthy Hinkley and Burgess had a fair bit to work with when they came on board Apologies for horrid formatting
  19. Now that he's seemingly gained a bit of belief, I'm wondering if we should try him as a KPD It would be a huge bonus if our Frawley replacement came from within

  21. Can't help you with Nev but apparently the answer for Smith is 16. 3 of which were by Bruest in one game I love Nev's resurgence but Smith is a ripper & has been for a while.
  22. Never got going this year. Hope for an uninterrupted pre-season & a return to form. With the departure of Rivers & Frawley we need Col more than ever to marshall the defensive troops
  23. I remember that. A blues jam - he was bloody good - and then he broke into the theme from the ABC news
  24. Hahaha. Will he bring Tom "Unfinished Business" Scully with him SoNS ?
  25. FFS BB, you're smarter than this Do you truly believe the club wouldn't have had this fully assessed ? That they wouldn't have investigated the long term prognosis on the kid's condition ?
