  1. Not at all. He's been a terrific one on one defender. But he's not a sure mark - to the point he'll sometime go the double fist spoil rather than mark & drifting across the front of packs is not his go
  2. Much as he's improved, I wouldn't be relying on Dunn for intercept marking. Garland maybe.
  3. There's plenty of room. The only one we've got, for all his shortcomings, is Matty Jones
  4. I think he plays better footy down back. The required level of concentration seems to suit him. Up forward he goes missing for long periods & makes silly errors - e.g. dropping easy marks because he's not fully switched on. I also believe he is a pretty ordinary set shot for goal & often doesn't maximaise his opportunities. That said, I'd like to see him trialled on a wing. He'd be a difficult matchup. Pretty much unbeatable in the air one on one. He can work back to help out in defence & provide another option as a kick-in target. He'd also be very dangerous drifting forward. My question on him in a wing role are tank & leg speed. We lack genuine wingers & good ones e.g. Smith, Hill, Gaff etc make a huge difference to the way you can move & deliver the ball
  5. Good write up mate. Congrats on the new addition to the family
  6. That will do. As long as you're not a Kiss of Death ! Some things should be left alone A player having a feature article in the paper on game day - guaranteed a shocker Declaring the Golden Slipper winner after the Debutante Stakes Staying up to watch Greg Norman in the last round of the US Masters Hannabal singing the praises of our first round draft picks Me drawing any horse in a Cup sweep Always ends in tears !
  7. What's your strike rate been like ?
  8. Agree he had a bit of a roof over the toolshed then It's grown into a block of flats since
  9. Rog, the mistake you made was to put 2016 at the start & expect people to read it before going off half cocked Don't do it again
  10. I have high hopes for Gawn. Someone earler referred to his game against the 'Dogs. He more than matched Minson for 3 quarters. In the last he got rag-dolled. That's ok. Minson is a mature, experienced & powerful ruckman. At 29 and having been AA in 2013 it could be said that Minson is in his prime years as a ruck If you track Max's career against Minson's, I reckon he's travelling ok. He's still only 22. I see this year as another development year for him. Russian should be able to hold the fort until he's ready. This & next preseasons in the gym should make the world of difference. Spencil is a great commodity to have on your list, bearing in mind that Roos likes ruck squads. He is never gonna be your first ruck. He is not gonna play a lot of senior footy. And he's not gonna command a big bucks contract. What he does provide though is a plug & play option if someone gets injury. He will compete & contest & help us avoid being torched by the opposition ruck. In the Magoos, where he will play most of his footy, he is a quality VFL ruckman with a big body who is there to help our young recruits as they develop. Fitzy is a bit like Paul Johnson with a few more tricks. If you could have a comp with 200 cm wingmen, he'd win a Brownlow ! Sadly, 200cm wingmen are quickly found out. He's another that is worth his spot as depth (I expect him to play R1 with Dawes suspended) and for what he brings to our VFL team as a ruck/forward. We are not exactly overburdened with "project" talls. We need a VFL side with structure to assist our young players development. Max King can mark. He can kick. He has good ground skills for a tall fella. Pretty good awareness. Whether his body develops to be an AFL ruckman remains to be seen I won't be fussed if we go for Baulderstone but if we pick him up then Max King will likely be consigned to the VFL Development league which I reckon is a bit of a contradiction in terms. He'd be better off playing for Balwyn or Noble Park
  11. Fark you can be a wet blanket at times OD Let the kids enjoy themselves for a while. There are months until we lose a game. You can dominate the board then
  12. Heard that too. I believe he started at Park Orchards Sharks as a young kid then at some point wandered over to Beverley Hills JFC
  13. Why ? It hasn't hurt Buddy Frankin

  16. It was an amazing time. It felt like the enire city of Melbourne was behind us
  17. I agree with a lot of what you say. However when the Swans were under Roos I always thought they were at their best to watch when they were 4-5 goals down, especially at the SCG It was like the playbook got thrown out the window & caution thrown to the wind. They could really turn it on & attack when they needed to
  18. Interesting that while Tapscott is on Melbourne's "permission to train" list, Evans is not
