  1. Nah. Were that the case I'm sure you'd have also typed feet take longer to heel
  2. I saw what you did there 😏
  3. Excellent post which will probably get lost in this thread but it's worth serious debate. I've been of the view that the AFL missed a trick a few years ago. Rather than call play on when a player ducks into a tackle, the ducker should be penalised with a free kick against. The action would soon be coached out of players if it's costing the team.
  4. Bloody hell. I'm no friend of Norf but even I'm wondering how many times the footy gods can fart in their faces. Brutal way to lose.
  5. The only snippet I've heard on Munro was during the Casey coverage a few weeks ago. I believe I heard one of the commentators mention that Jimmy had a 6 to 8 week calf injury. Can't recall exactly which game it was so I'm not inclined to go searching for it.
  6. Agreed. But this part of an over correction in protecting the head in terms of player responsibility to opponents and "duty of care". What seems to have dissipated is an individual's duty of self care. In this case Day had the capacity to use his free arms to brace his fall. That he didn't shouldn't fall on Sparrow in my view but that's the environment we find ourselves in. No winning this so move on. It'll be another player from another club in the coming weeks. Best get used to it
  7. It's not just you. There's a push in the back epidemic. And it should be called out. It's not strength in the contest. It's cheating. Hands in the back rule should never have been rescinded. It made it easier to adjudicate and disarmed players like that Collingwood / Freo nuffie James Clement who built a career on cheating.
  8. Might have got away but took far too long in doing so
  9. Brad Green should attach an invoice to his please explain response
  10. Just another example of what a remarkable human being he is @old dee
  11. I'll remain grateful to Frosty. When we were complete tripe he gave his all and provided most of the limited entertainment we had in those dark times. Frostball !!!!
  12. Yeah. There's a "predetermined" feel to all this. Comes down to fingers crossed for me
  13. Great to see Eliza up and about after that serious back injury she suffered.
  14. These boundary umpires need to get in the gym. And the rucks need to smarten up. Short throw ins are the standard today
  15. He's amusing the hell out of my daughter and I. Sounds like Tony Charlton straight off a BBC training course
  16. Canberra was once an "Aussie Rules" town with a healthy local competition which regularly produced VFL players. The great Alex Jesaulenko probably being the most notable. That all got turned on its head in the early 80s when the NRL first expanded and established the Canberra Raiders. I'd doubt there's any traction in creating the 20th team in the national capital now. That horse bolted 40 years ago
  17. You'd think that a player going through concussion protocols would have to present at the club for monitoring and ongoing assessment. I'd imagine the protocols would give guidelines as to what level of training a player could undertake, depending on what symptoms are being displayed. Some might be told they can run laps. Others sent home and told to stay in a dark room.
  18. And if your Auntie had balls she'd be your uncle. The reality is that Fritsch doesn't have the physical attributes to play the crash and bash KPF role. Go and stand next to him and you'll see. While he's strengthened over the course of his AFL career, he'd still be able to sleep in the shade of a crowbar. I'm of the view that his commitment to pressure and tackling has improved this season. Agree on Jefferson. Young players making their way will have their ups and downs but if doubters have a look at VFL round 1, I reckon they will see that Jeffo’s got a lot to offer and is made of the right stuff.
  19. Brilliant. Just Brilliant. Love watching Kozzie play and he's only just warming up. Could be amongst the best players in the game by the time his next contract is due.
  20. Not a valid one. Group idiocy.
  21. Mitch Brown replacement
  22. Say what you like about Tiger fans but there are tons of the buggers and they are loyal. Even through three decades when all they had to look forward to was finishing ninth, they turned up in droves. Unlike those bandwagoners from Hawthorn
  23. Agreed. May he play brilliantly in losing sides for the duration of his red and black career
  24. Clangovers ? Nice one Richo. Channelling Jobe Watson making up new words
