  1. Jaded makes a fair point. In one of the training threads this week Viney was reported as being in the rehab group. She's probably noted that and with Dunstan being named, put two and two together and come up with a reasonable answer
  2. Yep. Big Shazza. May have been promoted to Queen Shazza in later instalments
  3. No mate but I'm a fan of his work. One of the better posters over there
  4. Yeah. It was one of Biffinators unofficial previews. He wrote some funny stuff and had a particular knack of getting under the skin of Tiger fans. I think he had one of their irate responses as his signature
  5. I'm not convinced Fence. Robbie was the best I've seen in red and blue. And he played on the wing. Not key forward getting smashed under packs by large, nasty defenders and ruckmen dropping back. Don't think you're comparing apples with apples here. Let the kid develop
  6. Are you trying to get him killed Fence ? JVR with a mature body and a full year of preparation is struggling at AFL level. Jeffo, for all his promise, is so spindly that his body can't even hold his head up straight
  7. He was hardly on his Pat Malone. Whole team was schizenhauzen.
  8. Same. Love this kid. He's good and he's getting even better. Awesome news
  9. If based purely on talent then yeah. But we've all got our own memories & opinions. Can't remember the poster but someone on here once said that Jurrah had the habit of turning what should have been six goal games into four goal games and four goal games into two goal games. I thought that was a pretty good analysis. His star blazed all too briefly and he was talented, exciting and sometimes exhilarating. But his footy was not without flaws. For all his courage in the air he could be a bit selective in the contest. I guess I'm saying I thought he was a bit soft. Probably not a popular view but as I said, we've all got our own memories & opinions.
  10. As a kid, the first number I asked for on the back of my footy jumper was Greg Parke's #26. So I've been going to watch the Demons since the late 60's. Named a "modern" line-up with 23 players but not naming the sub ! B Jake Lever Steven May Matty Whelan HB Brett Lovett Gary Hardeman Adem Yze C Robbie Flower Greg Wells Stan Alves HF Garry Lyon David Schwarz Kozzie Pickett F Jeff Farmer Allen Jakovich Gerard Healy R Max Gawn Christian Petracca Clayton Oliver Int Jim Stynes Brian Wilson David Neitz Stephen Tingay Alan Johnson Emer Todd Viney Cameron Bruce Brad Green Some of these were easy. May, Lovett, Flower, Schwarz and Farmer were standouts in their positions Lever nudges out Jared Rivers in the "third tall defender" position. We've had some terrific back pockets but went for Wheels over Nev, Laurie Fowler & Alan Johnson. On the "other" HBF, Yze beat out Steve Febey & Salo The second wing was tough too but gave Stanley Alves the nod over Stinga, Alan Johnson, Trapper & Lingers. Greg Wells in the guts over Willo because I've used Clarrie & Trac in the on-ball division Garry Lyon could have made the grade in 3 or 4 spots. Jako at FF ahead of Neiter, Lyon, Darren Bennett. Even the other Jacko got some consideration. Much better footballer than he's remembered & kicked over 150 goals in 2 seasons as a Demon. Mad unit that he was. Max has gone past Jimmy as the best ruck we've had in my time I've used Clarrie as my "rover". In my time we've not had a top class rover of the Platten / Ashman / Wilson / Bartlett ilk. Now they are just called midfielders so Clarrie slots in there nicely. I've left out some bloody good footballers
  11. Great persistence and tackle Fritta
  12. Fixed it for you @Pennant St Dee
  13. I reckon many VFL games can be scrappy and congested. Lots of stoppages. I said to my daughter that this game was fun to watch. Open and uncharacteristically free flowing. Perhaps this contributed to the higher possession counts.
  14. Much as I've liked his efforts this season to date, I wouldn't go that far
  15. Fremantle Bigfooty board makes for some entertaining light reading. Happy to see them stew in their own juice. They have given me the brace'n'bits for years now starting with their constant pestering of Jesse Hogan from the moment he got to us. And when they finally lured him they did more damage to his career than his bung foot did. Would love to see him bag 60 goals for the Giants just to stick it up the Wanchors. It's a cautionary tale for any young forward. They killed of Cam McCarthy's career and transformed Rory Lobbe from a rising star into a goal a game plodder. Come to think of it they've given me the brace'n'bits since they tried to nick Stephen Tingay off us. Followed by pinching The Wiz.
  16. Ah the injustice of it all. Fremantle lose by a point courtesy of a dodgy umpiring non decision. Truly magnificent.
  17. FreeKickBulldogs has been activated
  18. Not all of his scoring shots were set shots. However there was one in the last quarter that missed narrowly. Given it went through near post high from 55 metres, I think the boy can kick it a bit.
  19. Bugger. So now he's got a minimum 12 days to curse his rotten luck 🙄
  20. Impossible to tell. I've seen and played with blokes who've run off the ground seemingly unencumbered only to find they've blown their ACL.
  21. Good chance for Bayley Fritsch Electrical to put in a quote here. Turn tonight's lemons into lemonade
  22. That's leadership !!!!!
  23. Agree with all of the above. Credit to both clubs for creating a brilliant event
  24. Disturbing SWYL. Disturbing.
