  1. Yes and no. WJ and myself were bleating all week to play our untried players like garland and weetra and a couple of seniors could have played with Sandy. Sandy would then have at least made the prelim final. As far as the dees go as I also said if we had played my wife at Full forward and my Mother in law at CHF we would still have won. Carlton would not have lost even if we hadn't turned up. It was always going to be a Melbourne win. If we don't get Judd I hope the Blues do get him and that the costs in salary and the trade are horrendous for them. Remember the Eagles will want to trade Judd to a club where he can't hurt them in the finals and the Blues won't be there for years. if they sacrifice good players and high draft picks it will be harder for them especially if Judd's injury lingers. I can't see him going to Pies or Hawks. Blues if we fail are the club.
  2. He may be the same source used by the Carlton supporter i spoke to. If he is correct they have a leaky Board.
  3. I love Robbo and will hate myself in the morning for saying this, but he is about to turn 29, has had several injuries lately and is playing a selfish brand of football. He doesn't do any of the 1%ers. He flies for marks against team mates in a better position. He shoots for goal from impossible angles and ignores players in a better position. That said I would like him to stay, but if he insists, I don't want another Bizzell deal. Maybe he would look nice in Red, Blue and White.
  4. You could be right that it is just another big mouth Carlton supporter ( hoping). However I note that Judd has called a press conference at 6.00 PM tonight that should enlighten us a little more. Also Worsfold was quoted as saying he would not stand in Judd's way if he wanted to come home and that suggests he knows a bit about it. Further I was amazed that the WCE kept playing Judd when he was obviously seriously injured, ( the papers call it a career ending type of injury if not fixed). If they knew he was going, they could have decided what the hell, make him play and his new club can suffer if he doesn't come up.
  5. That tells me a lot about Ward's knowledge of the game. On the other hand if we did have 22 Godfreys in the side we wouldn't have to worry about Ward turning the ball over, the 22 picked would all be doing it.
  6. If the gossip I heard today is correct you are spot on. A Carlton supporter told me while I was with Whispering Jack and Barry from Beach Road that the deal was done. Carlton would give picks 3 and 20 and Josh Kennedy, though that could change if Fevola was in the mix.
  7. Rhino talk to this person, please !!!!
  8. WJ good to see your cold has not robbed you of your common sense. We will not get Judd and we won't even be in the ballpark when the price is revealed. Not his salary or the trade cost. Your last line says it all. I hope he gets 1.5 million for 8 years from the Blues and that he costs plenty in a trade and in a few years we see the Blues supporters starting another election to get rid of this group that has destroyed them.
  9. I knew you wouldn't let me down. Maybe they would throw in Kerr.
  10. They had the opposite of us, few injuries.
  11. Must disagree here Rhino a number of players trimmed down. I do agree that the reason for this needs to be ascertained before we go sacking people. I do believe however that BB was asked to trim the players down and he did that on the request of the Coach ND who wanted a running side. Someone can correct me if they actually know otherwise.
  12. Still think Bizz and Byron should play out the year with Sandy and help them go for their fourth flag in a row. Could finish their careers playing in a premiership.
  13. Do you wish to change your advice?
  14. They were guessing. I have seen the incident now several times and the contact by Newton's shin to the back was nowhere "near high contact" and far softer than most marking duels. It looked bad front on but was nothing from the rear view as shown on Foxtel. The rear vision actually shows Newton trying to turn his body away from the player and he succeeded with evrything bar his shin. When I compare it to Buchanan's it is laughable. It was late but was minimal contact and he should at the very worst get it reduced to a reprimand if he doesn't beat the charge altogether.
  15. Even though I was a supporter of Sheedy being appointed, for all of the reasons I have stated elsewhere, I am starting to warm to Bailey. The endorsements of him that are now being made public, such as Nathan Burke's " I wish I had played under him" and Mark Williams " he will be a very successful Coach" give rise to much optimism. The fact that he is prepared to fast track development of the younger players excites me and is something I have craved during Neale's tenure and was largely disappointed with. The fact that he sees players playing in different positions is also refreshing and demonstrates a flexibilty that is needed in todays football. His declaration that he wants to work with the players not have them work for him and that he wishes to hear their opinions is also refreshing. Lastly his comfort with the media and sense of humour is also an advantage in increasing the PR of the Club. I wish him the best of luck.
  16. I am off to recheck the vision. I agree with reckless and low impact but it was not high contact as his shin contacted the players back. If the vision confirms this they should challenge it to bring it down to 1 point and then it becomes a reprimand. If however he can play for Sandy and it is seen as risky he can miss the first game next year, Neita should be fit for that one.
  17. Just heard that Kreuzer has asked the AFL to stand out of this year's draft because he feels sick at the thought of playing with Carlton and would rather play soccer or try again next year.
