Why not? Harry Taylor and Aaaron Davey as examples, were overlooked for a few years and so were many others. Do you honestly believe that there aren't talented players out there that haven't gone through the system. Many people would know a player that was good enough to have played AFL but wasn't discovered.

He has strong marking and long kicking as a couple of weapons. He could improve them with accuracy.

Don't want to upset everybody but I am not convinced on Ball. He is allegedly a star yet he couldn't make his side often this year. He has little penetration with his kicks and is getting slower by the week. He has had a history of injuries including groins and that clearly isn't helping his pace or kicking. He is clearly at his best on rain affected grounds and they are becoming rarer. He is not tall nor a great overhead mark. He is courageous without doubt and by all reports a leader. We have another leader who in my opinion will struggle to get a game this year in Junior, do we need another. If it came down to another Jurrah or Ball there would be no argument. Do we know that there is not another Jurrah out there and can we be certain that a better player won't walk out on his club after we possibly commit to Ball if he chooses us. Are we doing this just to get a so called " marquee" player to choose us? Is it a marketing fix rather than a football need? Just a few points for discussion.

He looked much bigger in the Herald Sun today than I have ever seen him. Added strength will give him increased confidence and more chance to score goals. Given he has one year left on contract he needs to produce in 2010. Hopefully he still can become a key forward for us.

Except to say that it is great to see a player from your own team who seems to care about the club as much as we do. It may be all [censored] but it is nice to see. I certainly enjoy it.

You have missed the point. This is the pre season competition and it should be used to give lower teams a heads up so that they can get some membership and momentum for the real season that follows. What is the point of playing us somewhere that our supporters can't get to and against a team that we can't beat. It just condemns us to a struggle once again to get members and sponsors.

Yes it is. We will be playing Geelong at Skilled, Saints at Cararra or Dogs in Darwin. We will however be offered Gold Coast at Cararra in 2011 if we finish bottom 3 in 2010.
