  1. I would have played him 5 minutes after coming out of the anaesthetic.
  2. This situation has been around for ages. You are allowed to recruit a player who has not played in any AFL sanctioned league and they can be named as your last pick in the draft. That is how canadian Pyke is with the Swans, the american is with the Pies, irish players are with clubs etc. Any club can go out and recruit a non-afl player if you are willing to put the time and effort in. Personally I don't think Hunt will make it in the AFL and neither will most others.
  3. I would far rather Bruce play forward than in defence. Disposal errors are a little less costly there. He also can take a mark and even if played deep he is still a chance to snag a goal. I recall telling other Melbourne mates over the summer that Bennell should also be played forward as he made too many mistakes at the moment and was too light and easily brushed aside. His pace and skill however could give us goals and again like Bruce errors would be less costly up forward. Bennell's move up forward has been successful IMO. When he matures other positions will be open.
  4. I don't generally bag players and will try to stick to the facts as I know them, but Bruce's disposal this year too often has been disastrous for us. His first quarter on monday contained at least 5 crucial errors which led to turnovers and on a few occasions goals to the Pies. He appears to be unwilling to take body contact and will sell a team mate into trouble. His kicking is not what it was and his decision making at times is absolutely atrocious. I would guess he leads our turnovers stat this year and if he doesn't it is probably only due to the hard work of others in trying to rectify the situation. I now cringe when he has the ball especially when he is in traffic. He has been a great player for us but now that he is 30 he seems to be unwilling to take body contact and as a result just wants to get rid of the ball and then often does it poorly. In today's football you just can't afford to give away possession.
  5. I thought Jack was now a few kilos heavier. Just looked up MFC site and it says Rohan Bail is 183cms and 91 kilos. There is no way he is 91 k's. Must be a mistake.
  6. Agree. I was there too and it was the greatest goal I have ever seen. He actually picked up the ball between half back and back pocket and ran the ground, dodging and weaving and finally putting the ball through the big sticks. Only time I have seen the opposition fans stand and clap a piece of play from the opposition.
  7. I nearly teared up. My favourite footballer and probably, favourite sportsman of all time. A beacon in the dark years who kept us coming to watch the Dees because of his brilliance. Also a modest and loyal person who stayed with the Dees despite huge offers from stronger clubs. I am thrilled to say he became and still is a friend of mine.
  8. Correct Old, it is double back to back or running double twice in a row.
  9. That's twice you have called him "schartz'. Might be simpler for you to call him "Ox".
  10. Spoke to Chip last saturday night and he told me would play this week no worries.
  11. The "bump to weight ratio" has us listed 5th at the moment.
  12. Are you suggesting he is a similar type of player to Rivers?
  13. Well lets take a serious look at this conundrum. None of them wear Warnock's jumper. They have all had consecutive games this year. None of them has climbed Mt. Everest. All of them were born very close to their mother. They all wear two boots in a game. They are all right handed except for the ones that are left handed. They are all under 63 years of age. None of them play for the Pies. They all enjoy dinner. They all play their football on grass. All of them can kick a footy further than 23 metres. Everyone of them has been in a car. None of them has walked on the moon. Every one of them has a birthday each year. All of them were or are teenagers. All of them wear pants. None of them are jockeys. All of them weigh more than 46 kilos. Everyone of them has touched a football in the last week. Everyone of them has visited the suburb of Casey. All of them are married, have a girlfriend or are single. None of them eat sardines and icecream for breakfast. Everyone of them has watched TV in the last year. All of them have sat on a chair in the last 3 weeks. Did I get the correct answer or should I keep guessing? PS. Damn someone got the correct answer while I was typing.
  14. Frawley and Dunn obvious. Very happy Jordie Mc is back.
  15. Hope to hear Petterd signed with the batch.
  16. Go sit with Carlscum supporters and you will soon know who to hate. Leave our own alone.
  17. Cam, we are a nervous bunch of supporters at Demonland. Hope the club did well at the Ball. I enjoyed it.
  18. Agree. That is what I heard. I suppose D, C and B sound similar.
  19. Had a quad injury which he got over. Injured again, back in 3 weeks, not a soft tissue injury. He can't wait to get back.
  20. I sat behind a real [censored] scum supporter. After they had the first three free kicks I said "here we go again". He then called two of our players "[censored]" and swore at others. The bloke in the next row wanted to take him on. Every incident in the game was a scum free kick according to him and any we got were [censored] umpiring decisions. Is it any wonder I hate the scum. they are the most arrogant club and supporters in the AFL and I wish them total failure.
  21. Why didn't you thank them for Gysberts for McLean. Also that they got Robert Warnock for $1.6m for 4 years instead of us.
  22. He told me last night he played full forward.
