Your wish is my command............93

I can be nearly positive the fact that we have a poor list, as evidenced by Casey's poor year, will not factor in the reasons for denying us a PP.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Redleg replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
All I know is what we all know from recent public statements. Gill and McDevitt have flatly denied any deal is on the table.Any discussion between Gill and Little is probably general in nature and about tactics available. Clearly the players need to agree to any deal. -
Won't matter who he is because they will never let him decide. He might follow the rules and give us one.

Barrett had huge exclusive on Essendon on FC tonight which actually amounted to nothing. I think I have figured him out. He is an idi ot. Sorry about the gap in the last word on the preceding line the site was censoring the word. Unbelievable.

We have been playing for most of the season with 2 blokes not trying. That is a team buster. Both must go. One will, maybe the other.

All these rumours on the day Hird returns. Distraction? -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

They haven't.Gill denied it tonight. ASADA boss flatly denied any deal with Bombers until after Federal Court decision. This may be nothing more than Gill asking Little if it was offered by ASADA what would be the club's reaction. Interestingly it is the player's decision and they don't need to decide as there is no offer on the table. -
Mike Sheahan on the couch said he believed deal is done with Cats for 5 years at $500k per year or $2.5m total. Garry hinted at same on FC a couple of weeks ago. Looking like Cats. That figure and duration and his age ensure a first round compo pick. Evans will say 2 and 3 will take away need for a PP with Hogan back and young players improving, completely ignoring the AFL's own criteria and University Professor who was to assess need.

No.

It is actually sickening when you see it there in front of you. Our drafting was not bad, it was absolutely pathetic. We don't have one champion on the list and only a couple of very good players. The rest battlers at best or below AFL standard. Terrible.

Melbourne biggest issue (from an outsider)

Why don't you send that to the papers, especially Barrett.

Like any argument people say what suits them at that point. BTW did you see those purple pigs flying by?
-
I think if you add the Casey and MFC consecutive losses together, we must be getting close to 20. Fantastic.
-
Can only be in the bag if they can do a deal with GWS.

Hey Gonz, just got up from my lie down and came up with another silly idea. How about we seek a PP on the basis, that JW misled us and the whole AFL footy world, that he was number 1 or 2 pick in the year we had pick 1. Clearly we have been defrauded of our pick 1, which was designed to help us improve and get back up the ladder. He was universally thought by all clubs to be 1 or 2 that year.
-
Bail is ahead of the others and will probably stay. Tried really hard last night.

"Given our recent form, these silly little scenarios are the only thing giving me any interest in the MFC ATM." That was the last line of my post. Says it all.
-
But that is not our go.
-
I have an alternative that is far easier and more palatable than giving us a PP. The AFL should tell the other clubs to simply forget about nominating Billy Stretch. That way we pick him up for our last pick and can use the earlier pick on someone else or trade it. The clubs could say they simply forgot to bluff the Dees and no one would care as we weren't getting a PP. Chances of happening -nil. Given our recent form these silly little scenarios are the only thing giving me any interest in the MFC ATM.

Has anyone seen a 196cm footballer spend so much time falling over in the contest or near it? Over and over again we see smaller opponents holding their feet and running away with the ball while JW lies on the ground. His team mates must be disgusted with the effort. Compare him to Bail and Jetta who don't have 10% of his talent but 100% more effort. Very sad. Forget development we stuffed up big time here.

Agree and believe it or not if we had fit Hogan and Clark and a few skilled pacy outside mids we would have won a few more games. This off season is vital for us to add pace and skill.
-
Agree. As we both said yesterday this side needs pace and skill. We need talented outside runners who can carry the ball and deliver to a team mate as opposed to standing still and kicking to a contest, or out of bounds on the full.We have proved we can get the ball so they are trying, they just lack pace and skill. Who is our Motlop, Isaac Smith, Lewis Jetta , Steven Hill, Robbie Gray, etc and all these guys have multiple mates. That is why we are where we are.
