  1. It really is funny the way they conduct these polls on whether we should get a PP. What result do they expect when there are supporters of 17 other teams voting? I would be shocked if they ever produced a result that the fans think we should get a PP. Hungry did another one on his show today after Patrick Smith called him an idiot, for not seeing that Melbourne needed and qualified clearly under the rules for one. Smith was very strong on saying we should get one under the current rules and just to improve the competition.
  2. Doubt I could find any poster on here to disagree with you.
  3. Great article. Obviously cares about the game and not just his own team.
  4. We haven't gone begging for one. There is an AFL rule relating to PP's and you have to make a submission as to why you deserve one under the criteria. All we have done is follow the rules. Pity some other clubs don't follow the rules and stop signing up our players a year before they are allowed to.
  5. Well done. I'll bet there is plenty more we could fight for.
  6. Sitting on the pier and waiting to see what bites.
  7. Not sure if you saw the game this week. GWS despite no fit players on the bench, ran away from our players. It was unbelievable. We are a slow side. You want to bring in a former great player, who was never quick, who hasn't played an AFL game this year, who turns 34 in January and will probably at best last one season, rather than bringing in a youngster, who could have a career ahead of him. Is that correct?
  8. How do you know? Look at the potential superstars we drafted. Watts. Scully. Trengove. Sylvia. McLean. Cook. Need I go on? Would you trade for example, pick 2, for a very good GWS player and pick 4?
  9. You wouldn't know if Petracca is gone, as the trades are before the draft.
  10. Barrett says "Forget Handouts Try Fighting". I have changed my mind on PP's, I agree. We should start fighting. Below is what I would start fighting for. An equal draw so everyone shares equally friday nights and the better days and times and the worst days and times. An end to club's Academies. This year and next the Swans will get 2 boys rated top 5 for a pick 20 in each year. A direction from the AFL that quality FA's must come to us and other lowly clubs if we offer similar money to the top clubs. An end to Salary cap benefits of some clubs like the Swans COLA and Carlton's Judd Visy deal. An end to the avoidance by some clubs of playing at Skilled Stadium. An end to AFL arrangements that deny clubs like Melbourne, access to players like the American, recently allowed to go only to Collingwood, because we didn't have the money to go to the USA to interview him. A reduction in the salaries of the executives of the AFL which can lead to more money for the clubs. There will be no problem in replacing them if they decide to leave. An end to the list benefits of club's like GC and GWS of more players on their list. An end to working parties of the AFL dominated by Eddie and his selected mates. Need I go on? Yes lets start fighting for our fair chance to improve on a level playing field and we can forget the PP.
  11. Yes.
  12. What PP player do we have on our list? You of course are against the unfair draw some clubs get which affect wins and revenue. Also draft academy's of some clubs . The Swans will get 2 boys in the next 2 years who are top 5 but will go at about pick 20 for them each year. Also that the Pies were allowed to take an American player this year who was denied to clubs like us which couldn't afford to go the US to interview him there. Also the extra salary cap of some clubs which allow players like Buddy and Tippett to go there. Also FA which has been brought in to bolster the top clubs as has become evident. We will lose our 5th player this year to it. See any champs under FA asking to come to us? Also rules made on the hop like the Judd salary sham allowance from Visy yet denied in 3 seconds when we suggested we would do the same to try and retain Scully. Yes you are against all these handouts aren't you, or only one given to us because we are crap as a result of our incompetence and the system we play under.
  13. Not that I believe in curses, but only because the topic was Melbourne people who have died young recently, the most tragic of course was Troy Broadbridge, dying in a Tsunami on his honeymoon a few years ago. This club has suffered badly on and off the field recently.
  14. I met this bloke called Steve Dank in the pub and he said he could help us.
  15. By the way what handouts have we had, leaving aside anything that has been deserved, such as equalisation funding for pathetic draws.
  16. Robbo on 360 just said he spoke to Evans early this year and let slip that we wouldn't get a PP probably because they now regard it as dead.
  17. I would imagine the submission would have taken a few days to prepare. Interesting it is lodged the day after our worst performance.
  18. Glad they asked. Think the answer will be no. Certainly will not get 1. At best it would be 4 but more likely, first pick of second round. I would rather a few picks that they made us trade for established players and then we use our normal picks for the draft. It won't happen. Can see the reasons given by Evans. You have Roos as Coach. Hogan had 4 possies in the VFL Sunday and he will win the Coleman next year. You lost Chip but you will draft a star who will win the Brownlow next year. Toumpas and Salem will be 2 of the greatest players to play the game. You will get Stretch and my mate tells me he will be better than Flower. I spoke to Watts and he told me he has been laying low so far and will play like a pitbull next year. You have got a new sponsor in Gatorade next year and it will make the boys kick straight. Your ruck coach tells me Spencer will be better than Sandilands next year. Etc etc etc.
  19. Stan chose to go to North for a flag.Wells was cleared to the Blues and also got a flag, but he didn't initiate it.
  20. I'd be sending it to Gillon and Evans.
  21. Biggest change for me, would be for Roos to just free them up and say go for goal at every opportunity and don't kick or handball backwards. It couldn't be worse.
  22. The only thing that could make me feel any better about yesterday, was if we needed picks 2 and 3 for massive deals, involving several good players coming to us, that had been already organized. Unfortunately, that is just me clutching at any straw, to try and put a good spin on a disaster.
